TJ, I honestly think the ‘issues’ are most likely you superimposing your political beliefs onto the field of childcare. If you haven’t raised children yourself, and your anictotale evidence is ‘unreliable’ why are you posting?

So, to summarise, I did what was best for my kids.

That’s the key. Regardless of working / non working, it’s parents who try to do the right thing for their kids who succeed, how they go about it is a matter for them. The only kids I know who have problems are due to poor parenting, nothing to do with what career choices have been made.

I use it, and it’s been great for keeping in touch with old work colleagues. You have to be very careful to think what kind of messages the Linked In updates send to your current/potential employer (they get a digest of who is linking to who), so you might be linking to someone who is a personal friend, but if he works for the competition it can send the wrong message to others.

It also tracks (and displays) who’s been looking at profiles (dunno if you can turn this off?).

DezB…really jelous, I saw them on the forst UK tour w/John F., they were amazing…such a breath of fresh air.

For early stuff, I loved all of Freaky Styley, but for me, the standout track was Funky Crime, as it pretty much defined funk metal (for better or for worse ;-))

I’ve been taking ramipril for about 6months, so far, so good. I monitor a couple of times a week at home, and always take 3 readings a couple of minutes apart. 1st reading is often higher than the others. It’s quite common for the readings to be higher when taken at the docs, and mine varies a lot during the day ( +/- 20)!

I’d recommend getting a decent home monitor to get a better feel for what’s going on, it might be things are ok.

…and moderate exercise makes a heck of a difference!

I’m puzzled as to why more people don’t buy second hand.

Because there are a significant number of people who think it’s their right to lie about what condition their gear is in to get the best price for it.

Buying s/h to save £50? I think your mad to even consider it.

Agree with Mr Wright, you can get some great results with compact cameras. If you taking footage of kids, something with a flip out screen is good, so all your footage is not ‘looking down’ on the subjects. Canon G12 would be my choice.

Must admit, my HTC Desire was in for repair recently, and I was amazed how much better my old Samsung was to use as a phone. I’m thinking iPad and non-smart phone is the way to go.

Personally, I’d just regard them as disposable and get a new one when they break.

I used Darran at Class A in Sheffield for repairing a CD player a few years back, I wasn’t impressed TBH, but he did fix it for a lot less than the manufacturer would have charged.

I sent my CD player, bought secondhand, back to NAIM and they upgraded the laser and transport for about £500 which, on top of what I paid for it, got me a “good-as-new” player, but still MUCH less than I would have paid if it was new..

So you were sold a part which wholesale costs c.£20, takes a half an hour to fit and your happy to pay £500?

Had an insulated, electric roller fitted w/remote that looks like a light switch for c.£1200. Loads warmer, really quiet operation, no banging in the wind.

because of this some customers might insist on you being properly insured

I think “you” should insist on being properly insured! (not you personally bazzer)

Don’t think Limited liability helps contracting scum in the event of a tax investigation, as it’s considered personal taxation avoidance, not company?

I had a 350D and sold it after a month or two (preferred my old Canon G3 at the time). I bought a 550D recently, and it’s miles better than the 350D, much more so than the spec’s would suggest. Really impressed.
