ltheisinger, How do you find getting the bikes on the top of the CR-v and what roofbars do you use? I’m test driving one on Friday, and one of the concerns I have is getting the bikes on the roof. I’m current car has roof rails, so it’s super easy to get bars on and off, are they easy to fit / remove on the CR-V?
If you want to improve the sound of a TV with little fuss and little money, buy a pair of active monitors like Fostex PM0.4’s and plug them into the headphone jack. You don’t need any additional remote controls / switching and they will sound loads better than the built in speakers.
I bought a Custom Shop relic a few years back, it’s OK, but I’ve noticed as I’ve played it, the neck has started to look less old than when I bought it…which makes it feel a bit phoney (which of course it is). I think i’d rather buy new and let nature take it’s course.
Although as it’s Foo Fighters it’s hardly groundbreaking
It was a tiny bit groundbreaking, in that it was recorded direct to analogue tape with no protools editing in Dave Ghrol’s garage..pretty unusual in this day and age.
Sorry to hear about your Mum MF. Personally, I think it would be OK, and it might left bring some happiness into the occasion, but my wife (like yours) has never been keen. Itmight bring more stress on you at a difficult time if the kids are there though?
I’m driving a Navarra at the moment as a company pool car…It’s without doubt the worst car I have ever driven. Noisy, uncomfortable, cramped in the back, boot is not secure, costs a fortune in diesel to run, hard to park, awful to drive.
My bank did it over the phone, cost £20, took about 10 mins to initiate, most of which was the bank covering it’s ass in case the money goes to the wrong place.
OK TJ, can you kind any manufacturer of papooses who suggest their products are suitable for babies less then three months (you can include dutch manufacturers if you like)?
I’m genuinely interested.
Edit – I found one….looks like i’m gonna get some abuse ;-(
TJ – I honestly think you don’t know what your talking about and your ‘advice’ is dangerous. IMHO 8 weeks is too young to even walk in a papoose, it take a baby on a bike at that age is crazy.
12 weeks is way too early IMHO, ours is nearly six months and he’s not ready (he’s probably slightly above ave. size). IMHO Cycling with a baby in a papoose is nothing like walking, as the forces you put on a baby if things go wrong on a bike would be much greater then walking.
I found it pretty painfull (lefty was easy, righty a lot less so). . No purple or black discolouration but very, very sore for 6 days. iPad earned it’s stripes in protecting them from the kids when out walking :-)
We’ve been looking at this….I think FC’s are better for weekend trips, as you don’t have to put the awning up, and they are ready in 10mins. The TT’s give more of a camping feel (a good thing IMHO).
