There’s a couple of lads at the end of our street who come round to play at ours at any opportunity & there appearances have become more frequent since their mum had a new baby. Owt like that happened?

No, I think he’s always been round at other peoples houses. We just appear to be very ‘on the radar’ at the moment.

seems pretty obvious where he gets his lack of assertiveness from

I have quite a few faults, but ‘lack of assertiveness’ is deffo not one of them :-). The kids is 7, I am trying to be sensitive to the situation. My lad’s not shy either, he told him he couldn’t come round.

    Do you see the parents?

Yeah, the Dad’s OK, but Mum is pretty ignorant. I don’t think there are any major problems at home, but they just don’t spend any time with him.

Love the fake handclaps @3:50…I wouldn’t let my kids play with another child who’s mum did that ;-)

She’s horrible, but if I’m honest, i’m no better. If I hear someone calling their kids Tyson / Jordan / Chantelle (plebs) or Piers / Cassius / Xavier (toffs) it creates a negative impression on me.

I’m even more full of s*** as I have a child called Dan (pleb) and Oscar (toff). I know they are OK though :-)

Personally, I’d explain your situation and go for the high figure. It’s a very common thing to want a job for development / challenge / lifestyle reasons and work out they you can survive on a lower salary. You then go for the interview, get offered the job…..then think it over and decide that you don’t really want it, as the salary is too low.

It happened to me few years ago, and talking to a mate in recruitment, he said it’s a very common thing to happen. His take on it (which I think is dead right) was “Don’t sell yourself short just to get the job, because your wasting everybody’s time, just be straight about the figure you would actually like to take the job at”.

3 months into the job, if the salary is too low, you’ll jack it in, and you have to explain it away on your CV. IMHO, the options for salary improvement once your in a role are much harder than at the interview, so unless they indicate otherwise, what you ask for is what you’ll get for the foreseeable.

Or do Renault have special rip-off-Britain prices?

Nope, they are just aren’t very good cars.

If you take bits off a bike, they ain’t ‘new’.

If you’re a private trader, you sell “second hand” goods.

Exactly. How hard is it to understand?

Just the same as ‘Mint’ means ‘Mint’, and should reflect the items condition, not a word used to try to get the most money for some old tat.

aaagghhh Mary Ann Hobbs “….it’s the most ethereal, exquisite, breathtaking, elevating music you will ever hear” when describing the first Northern Uproar EP or another s**te indie band from Brighton who think that modern music started with the Stone Roses and ended with Suede.

Her voice makes me want to vomit, she’s from Garstang FFS.

Its East Midlands 6am in the morning, I think we wont have any congestion to deal with

    !

Err, bad mistake, I used to get there on Monday @6am (for 7:00am flight) and the security queues were sometimes massive. I had to pay to fasttrack a couple of times or I’d miss my flight. Dunno what it’s like midweek, but 6:00AM isn’t quiet on a Monday.

I use a Boss DD-20, ironically, not traditionally Boss sized, but has good looping and pretty easy to use. You can use the looping and delay at the same time (so create a loop, then play over it w/delay on the guitar).

Some of the TC units look nice.

It’s really annoying, apparently when the call centre operator gets within 30secs of his/her call finishing, they autodial a stack of numbers, whoever picks up first gets the call, everyone else gets dropped.

Listened to 13 this morning, what has Rick Rubin done :-(. Brad Wilk is a great drummer, he sounds awful on this…worst drum sound I’ve heard in a long time. Wilk sounded awesome on Sound City, how did Rubin make him sound so bad?

I thought I liked Rick Rubin, but he’s starting to produce more and more utter dross.

I loved Sabbath Mk1, this is dire.

We had one fitted a couple of years ago…it’s ace. No pump noise, loads of flow for showers and baths and a lot cheaper to run than the old boiler. Can’t find any downsides (so far).

I looked at this a few months ago, the only repair I could find was c.£170, so wasn’t really an option. I’d be interested to hear if things have got better since then.

Most modern systems allow you to run stuff in a PC as a ‘virtual’ controller, so you might not need any hardware, bar a laptop.

2.0 ecoboost is better on fuel than the 2.5t

OK fair enough, some of the reports on SMOC were not good, but I didn’t read about it in detail. Your right the 2.5T does not feel that fast, as it’s lovely and smooth…very understated to drive.

I went from 2.5T mondeo (c.28mpg) to 2.2 TDCI Smax (c.38mpg). I preferred the 2.5T to drive, and it was a lot cheaper to buy than the 2.2 TDCI, so I was really happy with it. 2.2 is OK though, I’m starting to like it.

The petrol Smax’s (Ecoboost) are thirsty, and personally, i’d avoid, because, as you pointed out, if your job changes, you might have to sell it, and that is expensive.

Personally, if I were you, I’d go for the 163…the 2.2. is nice, but it’s never goanna be a sports car, so save some dosh and get the 163.

One thing to consider is that the Mondeo 2.5T has better fuel economy than the Focus ST, even though they have the same power output (dunno about the Smax?) so the 2.5T might not be as bad as people think. Really nice engines though.
