An answer more akin to what you were really asking is to try Loch Morlich near Aviemore. There’s wild camping options and a paid campsite if you’d prefer it. There are FC toilets for all and water sports. Aviemore is a mountain bikers wet dream in summer and… The list is endless.

Aviemore is a little further for you than Fort William but since the latter is likely to involve a journey, to and fro, through Glencoe Aviemore will be a much more pleasant drive. Glencoe can be nose to tail 10mph traffic in the summer holiday season.

Ah, a nice thread. There’s no toastie machine in our house but as teenager I was known to experiment. Egg toasty, mince toasty, raisin toasty, beans toasty they were all good. The only failure I can recall was ice cream toasty. That was supposed to be served with fizzy milk but that nearly ended the soda stream.

Surely the cleanest, most ecological and likely the cheapest kind of heating is all electric on a green tariff?

Two things to consider that might add sustainability to and LBS.

Social Enterprise: teach people to ride and fix their own bikes. Do that for specific groups like marginalised youth or people in recovery. Add a cafe to the shop and bring people together reducing isolation and building your community. There are funds about for such things and such activities deserve them.

EBikes: I believe the govt are on the verge of subsidizing them for commuters.
