Edinburgh is actually amazing. They’re going to build a world championship trail centre in the Pentlands hills soon too. Just don’t move to the city centre. Try Balerno. Aberdeen is dull as ****, Dundee is awesome but tiny, Glasgow has a motorway cutting it in half, Inverness is weird and parochial.

Perth would be a bloody good move actually. For one it is the home of St Johnstone FC. The best tiny football team in the world.

PS: in Glasgow they eat chips with cheese and curry sauce.

Olive oil, lemon juice and rind, salt, cracked black, fresh herbs.

Veg could be roasted or steamed to maintain flavour.

There is nothing better than Tricoflex. As a market gardener I didn’t buy anything else. Neither did my peers.

Sigrid is more popular in our house. She’s similar but Swedish and less sulky. Same good song writing and a positive role model for 6 and 9yo girls. The songs sell themselves it’s not about tits and lips.

Mashr – we’re eying up the Badger Divide so I’m bagging up with that in mind. Bike-bags looks good.

Bike is a 2017 kona shred that I’m gradually modding up. I want to fill the whole triangle.

My bike has a weird frame for a hardtail with hose and cables running under the top tube – custom sounds good so I’ll check that out cheers.

There should be questions about passive aggression, queuing, rosy tinted reminiscing about war, the good old days and respecting your elders even when they’re arse holes.

It’s hard to tell from that chart. To me it looks like there’s been much fewer very dry years since 1970. It needs a line ovelay.

Gwaelod – adding energy to a balanced dynamic system results in heightened fluctuations and eventually chaos. Innit? Small changes cause big effects.

Small changes like, maybe releasing millions of years worth of naturally sequestered carbon back into the atmosphere over a period of a couple of hundred years.

That might mess up a balanced equilibrium.

Just thought I’d point out that the face of the new character is as it is because the whole head of the scarecrow is, in fact, a manglewurzel. The neep (though actually a beet rather than a brassica) like vegetable that the name of the character is based on. Anyone terrified by a root vegetable requires therapy.

Any other bad press from the daily fail will be due to the fostered non-white kids and the ecological message.

We’re still way too comfortable for most people to give a ****. We’re like bacteria in a petri dish. People won’t change until we’re dying, en masse, in our own effluent. That or the resource wars will kill us.

It’s a new right wing trick to win votes. Call anyone that speaks out against the Israeli government’s terrorism an antisemite. Trump’s started doing it to Bernie. A jew who’s parents fled the holocaust. They had a lucky escape. Larry Sanders told me all about it when we spent a week together on Iona with others at a Conference.

I grew up on the biggest conventional farming operation in Scotland in the 80s, I’ve worked in farm certification cation including pesticide application on grain crops and I’ve managed organic farms. Don’t tell me that the permissable organic pesticides are more dangerous and applied more than than conventional ones. If you really want to go toe to toe on that subject – meet me in the pub.

Cheers Malvern, that’s a great definition. Example: using ladybirds to control aphids.

I’d say plant freely though some will get strimmed. If it’s actual common land its yours to play with.

There’s so much misconception here on all sides. Find a farmer you trust and buy fresh from them. Get your ambient staples from a coop like Greencity or Suma. There are pesticides in Organics but very few, generally biological and only in exceptional circumstances.

I’m 43 and still hug trees. I work in social enterprise for a kids charity and previously ran an organic Market Garden for about ten years. I get excited by apple harvests.

Glasgow to Oban is a really good shout. There’s of options and flexibility from there. There’s a lot be Saif for Aviemore and Cairngorm in any season – everything is accessible and laid out on a plate with good accommodation available. There’s the old bridge for fun at night too.

I used to work for Cyrenians who also do this. There might be similar in your area. I don’t think a referral is required:

There used to a pub in Edinburgh called the Penny Black that existed for this purpose. Mopping up posties and night shift workers after their shifts. It was adopted by clubbers in the nineties and noughties.

Im 43. I’m feeling good about my health. The only perstent niggles are piles then a right knee ache and an occasional radge back spasm. Knee and back issues are related to school age rugby. *uck knows how I ended up with bum grapes.

Actually, now that I’ve bothered to look at the leaves it does indeed look like fennel. Does it smell of dill or fennel or neither?

I didn’t go off road in the end. The borrowed bikes brakes were dicey AF. Took a trip from Kyleakin to Kylerhea then the ferry to Glen Elg, climbed out of Glen Elg then bombed down to sheil Bridge, along the coast back to Kyle and the over the bridge to Skye and Kyleakin.

I was in Torridon 4 weeks ago, didn’t have time to shred.

I know Kyle quite well now, my wife grew up here. I was hoping for some local knowledge on the trails around Balmacara or similar. There is an old STW thread about them but the info is a bit vague.

Train your bikes up to Inverness and cycle The Badger Divide back down to Glasgow. Recover with a stay in Malmaison.

I don’t think CBD is a cure all, it has helped me deal with occasional stress situations quickly and effectively without draining NHS resources or wasting time. You can laugh it up if you want, that’s cool. I hope you find an easy way to deal with Anxiety if it hits you hard.

… You could try pyschadelics for anxiety. There’s evidence that shows they’re very effective when treated with respect.
