I thought I had it cracked when I got some Lusso max repel bib tights in xl which fit great. Got some of their xl bibshorts and the chamoix is too big 🙁

I think the Soda is winning the beauty award so far. How tall are you Localhero? I've tended to rule the Soda out because it's only a 19ins, but I'm going to try a mate's out next week to see how I get on. What fork length do you run it at?

I'm 6'3 and run the fork at around 115 for most stuff then wind out to 130 for pointing down.

    Here's my large soda

Biggest I've had in my 07 soda is a 2.35 highroller – still plenty of clearance left as well.

Ah… That'll be the reason I landed on my backside in a puddle then – a trashed trail rather than a lack of skill 😉

My Soda shortly after it was built (couple of years ago!). Spec now is push'd rev's, slx cranks, xt gearing/brakes, monkeylite cnt bars, bontrager racelite carbon seatpost, stans arch/pro2. It's my only mtb so gets used for everything – quick local blasts, big days in the hills, trail centres etc etc. Great bike.

Have a chat with Mr Flooks and send them to TF tuned. I have the same forks on my soda and sent them there to be serviced/push'd. When they got back they just felt right and I haven't touched them since.

Standard tyres are fine, especially if you have the rimstrips fitted.

I love mine, it's run singlespeed with disc brakes and flat bars (with barends). I also have a 'proper' drop handledbar roadbike for long distances but for quick hour-long blasts it doesn't get a look in and the roadrat gets the nod everytime. It's just fun to ride.

It's amazing how many opinions people can have without actually watching the game.

I'd second the SMEG comment – ours has been terrible. I've had to replace the fan elements 4 times, both door hinges and door seal. Currently both fan elements have gone again and so has the grill. Won't be touching them with a bargepole again.

Shotover is really not worth any kind of drive to. There is 1 bridlepath that you can officially ride and it's only a 20 minute loop. Anyone who says there is any 'downhill' there must have pretty low expectations – there is 1 vaguely downhill section and it's really not much cop. There is a very small jump area, but again it's very small.
Shotover is used extensivley by walkers and if you're riding the footpaths then you're risking dangerous collisions. I was up there with my 4 year old a couple of months ago and nearly got wiped out by a dick on a full sus.
It's certainly not worth coming from reading – I live 5 minutes away from Shotover and only ride there if I can't be bothered to drive to the chilterns.

They are absolutely useless. I ordered a few things and 1 item didn’t turn up even though they’d charged my card. They then ignored the emails I sent them for the next month until I sent an email copied from trading standards informing them of my intention to take legal action. Got a phone call the next day “sorry about that, we didn’t get any of your previous emails….” yeah, right.

I think I’ve only bought one thing from the classifieds and that was a frame from Rocketdog – very positive, delivered promptly and well packaged

There was me thinking I was real, and it turns out I’m just a part of someone’s split personality.

I seriously hope the people who have been ripped off get their money back, but the paranoia that’s starting now is laughable.

I’ve also met RRR and apart from an inablilty to efficiently pump up a tyre he’s a sound bloke.
