Stretch it out and straighten the 2 main tubes a bit and it would be a stonking bike

or maybe that would compromise the short chain stays, suspension design and low stand over height 🙂

I thought the Mach 6 wasn’t very photogenic either. In the flesh though it looks great. I don’t like the lower dirt & crud catching linkage though.

What would you like to do? There’s gigs, live music, casinos, comedy clubs, shows, restaurants, cafes etc. All Glasgow museums are free too.

A suggestion would be take a tube over to Kelvingrove Museum in the afternoon. Then go for dinner in either Finnieston or Byres Road. Then take in a gig or show, a couple of beers and then beddy-baws for your wedding.

I saw him last year at the Hydro and I was blown away with his stage craft. Immensely talented musician and entertainer. Thanks Prince.

Getting pedals back into position to restart when I fail on the techy climb.

I do this as I prefer to kick off with my left pedal high. Even on my road bike if I stop at the traffic lights etc. Maybe it’s just a bad habit I’ve developed but it was never a problem until I switched to shimano 1×11 spd. I probably didn’t even realise I was doing it.

or get a decent mechanic to set it up properly.

There’s not much tolerance on the sweet spot for the set up on shimano 1×11 spd. A shimano mechanic’s solution was ‘don’t back pedal then’ saying that the chainline is slightly compromised.

Most of his early stuff and his seventies stuff for me. Infidels was a great album too. I don’t like his live stuff.

I hope Pedrosa wins it this year as I think this will be his last as a factory rider although I can’t see past Lorenzo winning it.

Would also like to see Stoner come back and win a couple of races on the Ducati silence the ‘EGO’. His attitude over the past couple of years has me supporting anyone but him.

You can’t argue with the riding from Bridge of Allan. Stirling town centre looked a bit run down last time I visited. Shame really.

I think most Scottish ‘cities’ have good riding on their doorstep. One comment ‘glasgow was horrible in terms of cycling out the city’ tbh I don’t think it is too bad. eg You can ride from the City Centre to the West Highland Way without having to ride on a road.

If you’re the wanting the best riding you’ll probably need to drive.

Glasgow and Edinburgh for city experience. The rest are just big towns.

I’m faster on the rune and it feels amazing so it’s ether the dw link or the CCDB???

Maybe its the KS Link? 8)

I went from a spitfire to a rune and I much prefer the rune. Tbh there’s not much noticeable difference between the two in terms of ‘on board’ weight. I think mine comes in at a shade under 30 ibs and the only carbon on it is the handlebars.

I really like the KS link suspension set up.

I’ve been to a few howlers that put me off listening to the band/person.
THe Stone Roses 1st Glasgow Green gig. Awful atmosphere, awful sound and awful performance.
Bob Dylan at SECC- (well it’s the SECC so it served me right) crap.
Primal Scream- terrible stones cover band made good by Andy Weatherhall.

I’ve never had any work done by them- but I’ve had a strum on one of their guitars and they’re super friendly.

I have both and I prefer my Rune. There’s not much difference in (noticeable) weight, although I do have slightly better kit on the Rune,( I don’t think there’s a large weight difference in the actual builds). The Spitfire climbs a bit better- With the Spitfire you don’t feel any pedal bob although you can see the suspension moving- with the Rune you notice the suspension moving more but it doesn’t feel ‘bobish if you know what I mean if you’ve ridden a KS Link .( I think KS Link is a smashing suspension set up- as good as any I’ve tried.) But the difference is minimal and I only notice it as a comparison as I ride both.

The traction is superb on both. (NB I’m a plodder on the ups anyway) . The Rune is way better on the downs though- it just feels right, but the spitfire is still a hoot and a holler too.

So I guess my point is whatever you’ve got, enjoy them and don’t regret that you might have bought the wrong one.

2 miles? It doesn’t really matter what you get. In fact, a cheap (I.e. not desirable) town bike with mudguards / chainguards / panniers would be the best option.

that’s as the crow flies- but hopefully I’ll be taking the long way home. Liking the marin Budget is £1000
Shortlist is down to Whyte 901, Whyte Dorset or Sufflok, Croix de Fer and now added the Marin.

I don’t think I could pull off the cruiser look 8) dbuk

It was a dangerous and deliberate move by Rossi. I think you need to look at the track and the corner that was coming up. Corner 14 is almost acute and is slow corner. MM was getting pushed out by Rossi and he had to lift his bike up, MM then had to lean his bike in to make the corner- probably in the expectation that Rossi was going to lean in too. But he couldn’t because Rossi wasn’t taking a race line and slowed his bike down.

Glasgow museums are all free, unlike the robbing barstewards in the land of ‘you’ll have had your tea then’ and they’re all child friendly with plenty to see and do. Kelvingrove, GoMA and the Transport Museum are great for spending a few hours.

Some great riding in the Kilpatrick hills 20 mins from the Centre.

I think the race officials got it right with Rossi for this incident. Marquez had no where to go in the corner and Rossi slowed down across him.

My other half has the 2.4 AWD (D5 i think) auto on a 59 plate. I like it. It’s not the fastest or most economical. She averages 30 mpg, however she doesn’t do long motorway journeys. I reckon on a motorway you might see 40 -45 mpg although the newer engines are meant to be more economical. Well according to the manufacturer and they always tell the truth dont they. 😕

Shes had a DPF failure which was common on the older models but apart from that pretty good.

i only rode them for pleasure at the weekends and I stopped riding motorbikes last year to ride my bicycle more. However still miss it. Bought an old bonnie yesterday to satisfy my urge for an occasional blast on a bike.

Ti456 was sweet with CK hubs. XTR, thomson etc finished building it in my garage and went to my neighbours for a quick chat. Came back and it was nicked, never even got a chance of riding up the street on it.
