my mate bought a Escarpe VRX a few weeks ago and he loves it. Climbs well and does the business going down. Looks good and great spec for the money.

Personally I would go for the new front triangle.

If £720 is too steep, would SC sell you the C or alu front triangle?

If i was buying a full bike, I would go for good frame, forks and shock. And making sure it was the right colour 🙂 All the other ‘kit’ would slighlty influence my decision but wouldn’t be a deal breaker.

    |I’m still undecided. I would vote for SNP however I’m wanting that horrible bunch of self serving chancers out of Westminser. As much as I dislike Scottish Labour, I might vote for them.

I’ve recently bought a Catlike Leaf. Really light and airy, ideal for the hot muggy Scottish summers & fits my noggin well.

Replaced a TLD A1 that felt real secure on my head but it was really hot. Ideal for cold, damp Scottish summers.

How the BBC get away with their political bias.
    Iron Maiden
How selfish, rude and entitled we’ve become. Especially in a car.

I quite like the look of that- I’m bored of the whole stealth look The only thing that puts me off is the word Intense on a frame.

My debonair has sucked. Was losing air overnight, now seems to be losing air mid ride.

I’m going to strip it down and give it a service at the weekend to see if that improves it.

Yeti- for the whole fani boy thing.
Intense – for the flexi back ends
Ibis – because they remind me of the magensium bikes of old .Kirks or something like that.
Santa Cruz’s – used to like now I don’t. Dont know why.
    Jones- for beardy weirdys

Just to dislike Giants, Marin, Whytes and Trek but like them now.

Saying that I would happily ride a bike from any of the above if it meant i could ride a bike.

Depends which direction your heading ofr the rest of your two weeks.

If you’re only going to be riding for a couple of days, I recommend getting a local guide. BC is a fantastic place for biking- but it is vast and it’s easy to miss the trailhead for the ‘killer trail’. As above Cumberland is great if you decide to go over to the island but I don’t think you would be disappointed with trails in Squamish, Pemberton, Whistler, North Shore, Williams Lake or there’s some cracking stuff in the Fraser Valley

Used to stay in Gdansk & Sopot regularly when I worked in Poland. Great places for the weekend. I didn’t like Gydnia that much though.

I went from a 160mm Banshee Rune to a 140mm Devinci Troy because I thought the Rune was a bit of a chore up hill (but mainly because I had a new bike itch)
Most of the time on the Rune, I was ok and didn’t need more or less travel – i think I used the amount of travel as an excuse for being slow up hill.I was underwhelmed on my first ride on the Troy as I thought the lighter bike would make it easier to get up to the top of the hill. 2lbs lighter bike and 20mm less travel – I should zip up the hills right? This wasn’t the case, it was all down to my fitness (going from 2×10 to 1×11 didn’t help but that’s another gripe)
The main difference for me is the handling. The troy is super fast to change direction and is superb for tights and twisties, whereas the Rune just ploughs through things. If I had plans to do uplifts or going to Alps/ whistler etc, I think I would’ve been happy with the Rune and work on my fitness.
I guess my point is that the amount of travel isn’t the main factor.

Use them on my commuter. With the return of bottle cages, bumbags and saddle bags, I predict bar ends are the next big thing on the enduro scene. Rumour around the campfire is that some of the biggest names have been using them in the off season.

thanks for the list boardinbob. Some gigs i had forgotten about, many I wished I had gone to and some I wished I hadn’t (very few mind you). I’ve not been to the Barras for a while- I kinda went off going to gigs once the prices started to skyrocket together with everyone watching it through 3.5″ screens rather than enjoying the experience.

Can’t see past MM for the title

    this.

Although it will be interesting to see Lorenzo on a Ducati. He’s one of the smoothest riders out there but bottles it in the wet. For some reason the Ducatis always do well in wet conditions.

Some of my best concert memories from the Barras. Doesnt have carpets in the gig area as it’s a wooden floor. Hot, sweaty, rough around the edges. But great place for a gig.

I love the look of the Tereblanche’s bike and I agree with Wilko in that they’re ageing better than the 916. 999s and 999r are future classics IMO. Horrible to ride around town, mirrors are good if you like seeing your own elbows, expensive spares etc Remembering that this will be a 10 yr + Italian bike- it may have a few niggles. I’d buy as a semi investment not as a daily runner.

I’m bored with the whole stealth thing. A Parts bin fakie is the way forward.

I quite fancy them on my commuter/pub bike. If any of you folk that have got an unused pair gathering dust in a drawer, give me a shout and I’ll take them off you in trade for bits or readies .

I tried to watch it on iPlayer – I couldn’t understand a flamin word he said!! It looked really interesting but no idea what was happening sadly! Sorry Scottish friends….

To be fair to Big Daddy, me and my mate watched it and struggled to hear what he was saying at the start of the programme. (me West of Scotland, him Stirling). It was probably just the first 5 mins that his voice was quite quiet.

I’d give it another go BD as it was a great watch.

(It usually rips my knitting when soft southereners pretend not to understand us.)
