‘Good point, but I was brought up and educated in the UK. Ooops’

well you’re arguing a point against tj who’s technically correct.

don simon- you’re in Spain right? TJ is in Scotchland right?

Ever thought there maybe a difference in law and social norms?

I see where TJ is coming from. In Scotland ‘The access code’ or Land Reform Act or whatever it’s officially called, dogs have no rights. However there owners have the responsibility to stop them bothering other land users and wild animals.

Although the code is based on respect & consideration to others and as far as I know hasn’t been challenged and decison made in court yet.

i’ve only wieghed two of my bikes and both were heavier than I had estimated.

Now i concentrate in trying to get my own weight down and try to get fitter.

it’s all about taste isn’t TLR? I mean the best bike is always the one you own. I had a balst on a Nicolai and thought it didn’t ride too well- i just felt too tall, but I suppose after time you would get used to it. I think Nicolais look terrible though- like a childs meccano set.

anyways, back to the original point. I had 03 Heckler and now have a 08 Nomad. Heckler can be built into quite a light weight trail bike, although I didn’t like the new Heckler when I had a test ride as the rear triangle felt too wide and kept rubbing my calves. Had my Nomad for almost 1.5 yrs and wouldn’t change it for anything on the market just now.

I do agree they are expensive, but I think any mountain bikes over 1k are expensive.

Both my SC were built in America, although it doesn’t really bother me whether a Mexican, caucausian or Asian welded it.

go to tk maxx Tom. They usually have a decent selection of last season outdoor stuff. Even a windproof golf top would work.

i like (in no particular order);-

    * going for a run out in the mountains and seeing spectacular scenery.
    * having a laugh with mates, faffing about, eating cake, a bit of riding, comparing moobs & beers afterwards.
    * being at the point of ‘help ma boab’ i nearly lost it there after sketching out.
    * bottling out of something and eventually doing it.
    * seeing one of your mates do something that they’ve been bottling out of.
    * riding with someone far superior technically to understand how far away you are.

    so i guess i’m both.

I’ve no idea. I had to make a shim from plastic-bottle and duct tape to get my XT one to fit.

    my alpine.

favourite of this whole threads is swiftacular’s missus chammy. Schweet.

You have to be a lady or dog-waste hot rider to get away with it.
