IMO the Berlngo is perfect biking transport. You can get two bikes & 3 people in without having to remove the wheels. The back is hardwearing vinyl and cleans up easily. I have the one with all the roof cubby holes, so it's a mobile shed as i keep most of my equipment in it permanently. Also the tailgate doubles up as an excellent shelter.
I've had 5 bikes & equipment for 2 guys for 4 days in mine and still didn't need to fold down the rear single seat.

I'm thinking of selling it as I don't need a car anymore. 55 plate, 1 owner ,1.6hdi, 30k, FCSH, Darkened windows in rear section, loads of cubby holes etc.

i'd happily pay for a bicycle road fun license if i never had to share a bit of tarmac with a car. I'd want to see a lot more cycling infrastructure and far better education/punishment of drivers.

    me too.

my mate bought one of the danbury conversions a while back and he paid just over £40k for it. His justification was that he always wanted one. Each to their own I suppose.

    If I had a spare £40k to spunk on a camper i wouldn't go near a T2 VW.

no they wont come out of the same factory. The actual LCDs are probably made by 4 or 5 suppliers, but the electronic components, design and manufacture will all vary in quality. 1st thing to look for is picture quality. 2nd sound quality. Take your own favourite DVD to try, but to be honest at that price point a combo unit is going to have a lot of compromises.

there's no way I can pick just one Clash song. Lost in the Supermarket, Clash City Rockers & Long Time Jerk .

Does anyone know of or have a Clash bootleg or album from around about the time they were splitting up? Mick Jones wanted to use a lot more sampling & rapping and apparently it's similiar to some of the Blackmarket Clash and 1st BAD album. I would love to hear it.

So the scottish parliment is to be recalled to 'discuss the decision' on Monday. A bit late for discussing it after the fact.

Macaskill made the decision and I think he'll not only lose his job over this, but take a few senior politicians down with him (even impacting the whole Scottish parliment set up). Personally I think this is a major international blunder by Scotland.

Did MacAskill take this decision on his own? I think there's more to this and a few political jaickets will be on a shoogly nail.

i think Scotland may look foolish for this decision unless they come clean on the true motives of his release. Approx 2 weeks for every person?

if you're flying into Prestwick, I would recommend missing out Glentress and drive up the West Coast to Glencoe/Fort William. I think you can hire bikes in Alpine Bikes in Glasgow- if not you will be able to hire them in Off-Beat bikes in Fort William.

Fantastic riding up there with a good mixture of natural and man made trails which easliy beats anything Glentress has to offer. From there up to Torridon for a couple of days and then over to Aviemore.

Aviemore has reasonable bike shops and the folks will be able to advise of good routes.

Kenny Wilson's book Mountain Bike Scotland is a good starting point. (although I've found some of the routes to be painful MXCT)

It's worth posting on here when you've got a rough idea of where you're going to visit.

    PS Get some midgie protection.
