One factor is how often do mtb’ers change bikes? Ever 2-3 years?? So the 29er won’t be common place for at least another 12 months, and then howmany of us just upgrade to get more life out of the bike, by the time they are common 26ers will be back!

Im guessing a selected few got the email, a budget was set aside for those said emails and the uptake, also guessing the budget doesn’t allow for a forum to get there orders in so i tend to agree that at some point the line had to be drawn.

On a side note anyone got a wiggle voucher? need to buy some xt brakes, was going to buy at evans but my code wouldn’t work :P

My OH doesn’t do the sales luckily! online sales now and then but otherwise she would rather be sleeping, like she is now and probably will until 12.

Working 11-11, hhhmm our particularly food retail store is classed as in an ethnic area so we are open until 10pm, gives me an hour to get them out, lock down the shop and then pray the alarms set, normally 24hr opening so we only do this once a year at christmas, it top it off its a 60,000 sq ft store takes forever checking every door, every fire door etc…for a full alarm set.

Very poor effort tbh, big fan of there previous titles World at War and Blops 1 but this one just doesn’t have the atmosphere and felt a bit meh!! been told the multiplayer is awesome but i don’t have the time for multiplayer. They have tried something different wiith some of the rts levels but it just doesn’t work right, ah well back to MW next year.

Signed off for 2 weeks, suspected fracture to the ribs, but better case just bruising. MTFU and still at work, its christmas i would get a beating for being off sick working in retail and all that. On a positive note, first ride back on the bike this morning felt good even if it is a road bike.

Saracen did some great bikes in the 90’s its great to see the brand back to its best, really want to get my mitts on the Ariel £1399 for the frame only option, they truely have some great bikes geared up for the UK market, no proper road bikes yet but hopefully soon!

I had an incident 2011 Nov, other driver went into the back driver side, i was stationary handbrake on as traffic wasn’t flowing. Called insurance company about 10 mins after. Other driver admitted liability wasn’t concentrating on traffic flow, i paid nothing out at all. My excess is covered if im not at fault so paid nothing, had a courtesy car for a week, could of had it for 3 weeks but i was out the country for 2 so i returned it.

My insurance renewal actually went down in august this year so all good, one snag is that i was pestered for months from no win no fee people about the accident, really annoyed me as i wasn’t injured.

I use my smart phone for tracking cycling routes, blogging pictures, playing odd games, the Nokia has the xbox function which i will use.

At the moment i just don’t see enough progession between iphones, yes the 3gs to the 5 is major difference, but essentially its still the same phone.

For me, the apple bubble has burst, its just a phone, i don’t facebook or anything from it. Its a great phone but im tempted by the Nokia Windows phone for my next one.

Thought i should update, glasses turned up this morning, so 6 days from order going in, glasses themselves great no issues, lenses also great considering they are budget lenses but no issues, all boxed Oakley Style. Comfy to wear and overall impressed.

Weak link?? royal mail usual complaint i was home yesterday got the red card please pick up as you were out yesterday, hhmm i was in and even spoke to my postie yesterday as he handed me my post while i put the bins out, cheeky bugger!!

Just catching this now, seems abit biased on the drivers side at the moment, the cyclist in the glasses **** with a capital T and gives everyone else a bad name. Watching the girls mother at the moment, to lose anyone is tough but to someone elses stupidity just makes it worse.

I’ve been hit twice, once i was younger and tbh was my own fault hit by an oncoming car coming out of a junction, i didn’t stop perhaps i should of. 20 years ago helmets where those white tv packing stuff, not very fashionable but i remember it bouncing off the windscreen. The second time was this summer, mini roundabout i had right of way, nothing coming from my right, got swiped from behing rear wheel bent to buggery i ended up on the kerbs, driver well drove off didn’t stop, another driver stopped and helped me up.

Took the risk and ordered them today, tried the opticans at work and he claimed he couldn’t get the frames im after, but guessed he couldn’t match the price. Will wait and see how this pans out.

I was looking at the servo an deringer frames, just something a bit solid for work. Currently got the clubface ones and while they are great, get the feeling an incident with a shoplifter could wreck them.

I gave up when i hit 30, almost 5 years. My work colleagues don’t get it at all and my mates are even worse. I keep getting what do you drink when you watch the footie, erm tea?

For me i got fed up of the hangover on a sunday just wasting the day wrecked all the time. Now im up most sundays off out on the bike and enjoying having what feels like an extra day each week.

No I couldn’t enforce the fine but euro parks do, they manage the local council car parks and they do impose fines for dodgey parking, I’ve worked in other stores this system does work, they do have 2 weeks to pay if I remember right.

I would forget the fact it’s Tesco but disabled spaces for those that need them.

Marcus, i don’t get your point? Tesco are the second biggest employer in the UK, yes the board make questionable decisions, and planning of new stores etc… but the day to day shift maanger and the colleagues that run these stores provide a service. I get paid well and generally enjoy my work. Its the job that lets me mountain bike in my spare time and enjoy life.

Going to discuss the issues with my boss today, i have a mate that works for europarks, if we could get them in for a month im positive that would make a massive difference, £100 on the spot fines could do a deal where any profit goes straight to our charity of the year.

Might print that *unt picture off and see if we can use that as well :)

Can highly recommend the Canyon nerve al, oh went from a Giant xtc ex 85mm travel up to the 120mm Canyon, she loves it, a blast round CYB on the weekend she got it, i had a quick blast over some tricky sections it runs really well and grips in nicely, not as bouncy as my spesh.

As for travel, all my mates ride Orange 5’s or big 150/160mm travel bikes while i ride my 120mm spesh. Things to consider are climbing, actual trails and tbh would you use the travel, i barely use full travel as it is, and im always quicker uphill than the other guys. Yes downhill they can be more reckless but i reckon i have more fun.

Plus i remember when 120mm travel was a big travel bike, damn mbr/mbuk/singletrack mags :)

If you know someone that works for a supermarket if you ride for there charity of the year they used to match the money raised, used to, have to look into it. I know tesco support cancer research this year, im planning a cycle ride coast to coast in may next year, just need to sort the finer details then put my plan to the tesco community champion.

Pedalon.co.uk always seem to have a few older bikes in a sale 2012/11 models, always worth a look, giant trances or trek hardtails although you have to pick the treks up in person.

M&S wouldn’t touch, 3rd floor flat, half the tennants council other half private.

Got E&L £12 a month for the camber and £9 a month for the Canyon, which isn’t too bad, like i said at home they are perfectly safe, 2 gold rated locks in a confined space they aren’t going anywhere, plus i have a road bike in the hallway thats going to go first the sacrifical lamb as it were.

Ive got one of the camelbak ones, has a bottle pocket and room for a phone, keys, mini pump a bit pricey. Mine was £21 from merlin but its great for small rides and free’s up the pockets.

I had to ditch my powerbook a year ago as it wouldn’t take the new itunes to synch my iphone 4s. Was gutted to let it go but i had no other choice. Now i run a small notebook, its powerful enough to keep my iphone uptodate.

Should add, i only use the adults or couples only hotels. The one in costa tequise is Thompson Gold rated the Coronas Playa, food is good, service awesome, hotel right by the sea front. Only snag is its 10 years old now, myself and my Oh went the first year it opened still got most the same staff.

The hotel is bike friendly and a couple of rental places nearby, some well specced treks and speshi’s. I only have 1 problem with the hotel and its the reason we haven’t gone back this year, is that its dated seriously needs a refurb, its comfy enough but doesn’t warrant its 4 star status anymore.

The main town of costa tequise is really friendly and nice place to be, beaches are nice and sea lovely and warm even in december.

Have been last 3 years in nov/dec stay in costa tequise. Road riding round the main town was good fun, did some trail riding with one of the local guides, very dusty and windy.

This year going early nov instead and oh wants a fancy holiday so off to playa blanca instead, although i have a road bike ready, just hope its not as windy as they say!

Hate, such a strong word, confused yep i think she is maybe a little. Thing is she enjoys being out on the bike as well, started on a cheap mtb, now she rides a nicely spec’ed canyon. She understands my need for a road bike as well, and 2 bikes in the hallway and 1 in the spare room. She understands the bike mags floating round the flat.

What she doesn’t get is the constant new parts, upgrades etc…she has the mindset if it works why change it and no sneaky purchases from me as she spots them a mile off.
