Worse feeling ever, knowing your home has been violated, hope the insurance sorts. How useful have the police been??

Must admit gone a bit ott with mine recently, some lads hanging round the flats i live in, caught them eyeing up my bike as i returned from wales the other day, double locked them, and sorted insurance from cycleguard that day, normally house covers but thought would double protect, going to get another gold lock today.

Tbh im under the impression any combi of speshi tyres is great, run ground controls 2.3/2.2 on my camber and purgetory control 2.3 ground control 2.2 on my p7 and its just as good, only reason im not running 2.3 ground control is because they don’t make them anymore.

Off there next week with the OH, last time we went she was happy just riding up and down the blue route, a few laps, some lunch then a few more blue, trying to build her biking up slowly. Managed FOD a few later, since then she gave up for winter, too cold she keeps saying, so this week we try again!

Biggest choice for me do i take the camber or revert back to my hardtail for a few days.

Some of the new higher end ralieghs look great, very tempted as my next road bike, some of it for history some of it just for the name, and a little bit for the bike :)

Depending on year, you can remove the seatpost shim and fit a dropper as my lbs pointed out to me when I told them I was struggling to sell mine. Just a thought!

Cannock was stupidly busy and very early as well, quite surprised a 8am loads of bikers about, and runners, dog walkers. Was a great blast on the bike this morning, first time in ages ive hit the trails and not the road.

All the above is why ive learnt to do alot of the work myself, only one thing ive attempted and failed so far is brake bleeding but other than that everything else is fairly simple to do, sometimes takes a little time but saves my bike going to the lbs.

Here’s my P7 yep and i know the cables need sorting, popping into my lbs today to get the brakes bled and cables sorted, its only been a couple of years riding like that, and no those pedals are not the usual normally some stealth candys.

I get the feeling steel is out of fashion again, orange didn’t make a P7 this year, and if you look in the classifieds quite a few P7’s for sale (including mine) and no one’s that interested.

I loved my hardtail, steel for me is the best bike ive had, but room at home etc.. means it has to go.

I had 2 bikes stolen back 95-97 both shed, both just after the insurance paid up. Never seen again until recently one of mine was a distictive raleigh max oversized in red, never saw another like it, until 2 weeks ago spotted some mid 20 year old riding round on it. I was shocked and suprised as in the same day i saw an old saracen in mint condition, convinced it was mine i grabbed a local pcso, grabbed the bike, quick check the bike is still stamped underneath with my old postcode and initials. Police took the bike, still awaiting its return.

They must store them somewhere for years then flog them, couldn’t believe i saw both bikes in the same day.

Its the cycling bug!! I picked up a commuter in the summer for fitness on those weekends i just couldn’t be bothered to pack the car up and head to the trails. The commuter has seen more miles than the mtb, to the point im saving those pennies for a proper road bike this spring, and selling one of my mtb’s to fund the big road bike fund.

I used to live in claines, very peacful and quiet, shared house with a mate only way he could afford to keep it, was a good few years back but was good fun. Nights out ok as well!

Frustrated is best word for mine at the moment, pay is ok, but the seniors above me keep doing stupid things like this week all line managers on late shifts except 1 to run the shop in the morning, so any social life or plans out the window.

Currently we have no overtime, no hours for holiday cover and constant beatings for issues we can’t fix due to the above!!

Retail Manager one of the big supermarkets.

Left school good set of gcse, did btec hnc at college, Aston Uni computer science degree.

While at Uni i progressed from playing with trollies up to a management position at the local supermarket. After i finished my degree decided to stay doing what i was doing as jobs where ether less pay or far too many people applying for them.

16 years later ive done senior positions in my job but stepped back to a line manager role, started doing a MCSE a few years back but didn’t have the heart for it.

Currently updating my CV and looking for a proper job, generally fed up with current job and expectations are just above anything ive had before. Unsure what to do at 35!!

They have already said that blockbusters as a core business is still profitable, so the business model of us renting games/dvds still works, not just a 90’s thing!

The problem is when they separated from Gamestation they tried to keep doing trade-ins but they expanded to dvd’s etc and tbh who really wants to buy someone else dvd’s?? That was there failure and they have said if a buyer comes along they could still be saved.

I don’t think shutting the highstreet would fix the highstreet, wouldn’t it just drive us all online on a sunday, but i guess would put the postal service in good business every tuesday/wednesday.

Saying that would be great not to open on a sunday means i can go biking every weekend!

But where will you buy it from?? Jacobs went last year and Jessops this year, no high street camera shops left.

Wonder what we happen to the Hmv venues, we have the institute in brum that was rebranded Hmv and I’m sure the academy is as well?? The old dome night club is an O2 venue now. Lots for them to sort out!

Hi Mrs Toast, i know you, im sure i do??!

Had a chat to other half, showed her some footage of trails and found a B&B at Glentress just down the road, secure bike area which is essential the amount of bike kit we currently have. Decided to go early May, weather should be ok, not too warm or cold, next step to get OH out on the bike otherwise the uphills will be a killer well for her anyway.

I think its easy to say oh thats not too bad etc but my OH had a massive crash and her confidence shot to pieces, we tried cannock but the first piece of north shore, and i know its tiny freaked her out. Since then she has a new bike, we have been to Forest of Dean she loved the downhill parts of the blue route, we have had a few days out at CYB again just the blue and she loved it, its all about confidence building, so if i can get her out on the bike for a few days on holiday means i can play about on the bike as well.

Ive sent a few emails off to see how bike friendly some of the B&B’s are, was hoping for some recommendations from here?

In the past we have rode laggan/red routes at ben nevis, but the OH had a massive off at laggan on the north shore, massive confidence killer. In the past used to pop to cannock but thats not exactly tame for newbies anymore.

Tempted by 7stanes something for me and OH to have a blast on. Any thoughts on places to stay.

I went for a 43″ plasma in the sales £270 Samsung, non smart, I have TiVo and ps3 so didn’t need the extra smart stuff, best tele I’ve every had, picture quality is just amazing.

I did have to throw my surround sound out, it was old school analogue, hadn’t felt the need to replace as yet, new one has virtual surround sound and that works ok

I’ve done some work for Sainsburys in the past. They aspire to be Tesco. Recruiting Tesco management is seen as a major win.

Problem is they don’t pay enough at shopfloor level, i earm more at tesco as a manager than i would at JS and they won’t even salary match anymore. All of the big supermarkets will happily poach managers from each other, there is a shortage of experienced management at the moment due to expansion none of the big 3 or 4 have enough management and keep signing off inexperienced kids to do the jobs and then watch them fail 6 months down the line. Its not great at the moment.

I really doubt tesco will be gone in 20 years, if anything will be more successful than ever, and im not saying that because i work for them, and im sure im not the only one on here that does. Currently Tesco is currently re-modelling its UK business, less new store openings, refit and refurb of tired old stores in the UK, pulling out of non-profitable situations such as Japan (last year i think it was) and US being wound down at the moment. The board have accepted they have ignored the UK market too long and the coming years will focus on regaining the UK as its an important part of the business. Early reports show Tesco won christmas this year at 1pc growth, while JS at 0.97pc and Morrisons and Asda at negative year on year growth. So goes to show they are getting something right.

Can you imagine the UK’s second biggest employer going belly up? it would kill the economy again.
