Get one quick before Halfords ruin the brand, can’t believe they sold out.

Yep def against the law, my flat is in a council owned block enclosed staircase and they put signs up on every entrance/hallway door.

Doesn’t stop it but reminds a few, they do tend to smoke outside the front door which tbh is just as bad!

Yep ive got the speshi camber expert as well, the last of the 26ers.

Mines completely stock at the moment, not had it long enough. I did change the saddle to a BG Henge just like the camber but tbh the new saddle isn’t as comfy as the one I got with the camber.

For now I will keep it as it is, even the Avid Elixir brakes work, shocking I know. I probably get some SLX brakes at some point but for now no need.

Pic of bike on this thread.

Ive got the Grand Canyon 6.9 Al, and its awesome. Really can’t praise it enough, a few blasts round Cannock and all good so took it to CYB and just as good. Over rocks, fast swoopy bits, baby jumps and shockingly no problems on switchbacks was prepared for some issues at Cannock but found it easier to get round.

Should of said a bit more, the frame quality is good and the spec is great for the price. Used mine at Cannock and it just sucked it all up, went to cyb last week she loved it, flew over the rocks at the start, climbed well and fast downhill through the Adams family, my poor speshi camber hasn’t seen daylight since I got the canyon.

I said on another thread, I went for the canyon: grand canyon 6.9 and its an awesome bike, fun lively, took everything ive thrown at it. Can highly recommend this bike.

If you can get past the no uk customer support, and the fact its a direct method of delivery, how about a Canyon? Ive got the Grand Canyon 6.9 amazing spec for the money and I can confirm its amazing on the trails, not missed a beat since I got it 4 weeks ago.

It doesn’t matter what you wear just get out and ride!!

Im fairly easy to spot on my road bike, team gb footie shirt (2012) it looks good! speshi BG mtb shoes because they are comfy, candy’s as my choice of pedal as I run candy’s on both my mtb’s, and yep baggy altura shorts. I get a few odd looks. Who cares? I don’t, I just enjoy being out on whatever bike im on.

Forgot to add my roadbike is a canyon as well.

One of the reasons I still wear baggies over the padded shorts.

As a couple have said, you really have to ride one, I managed to ride a speshi carve or crave? at Cannock a few months back and loved it. Im a short arse 5ft5 at most 30″ inside leg, after the demo day I went and ordered a Canyon: Grand Canyon 6.9 and its an immense bike, the only reason I didn’t get the speshi was travel the small frames only come with 80mm and I know I need/want 100mm at least.

The Canyon is perfect for Cannock and if your a rider that keeps the tyres to the ground which is pretty much how I ride. The fit is perfect and well ive only had 2 rides out so far, taking the canyon for another blast tomorrow. Should of said my 29er is a small frame, and you can tell looking at it, but the front end is higher than my speshi camber 26er which is a medium but that helps with the fit.

Before I looked at the canyon I looked at the boardman team pro 29er but the TT was a little too long, the canyon is probably the first bike I’ve had that actually fits. If you want an xs in the canyon they come with 650b wheels not the 29ers.

People mock but until you ride one then you know if you want one or not, 29ers have come a long way in the last 4 years, geometry and spec’s are loads better than 4 years ago.

Should mention Cannock gets an immense amount of footfall, tyrefall? ethier way its stupidly busy at times so the trails need immense amount of time to rebuild/repair. The guys at chasetrails do a great job keeping the trails in order and giving us something to ride every weekend. The more volunteers the quicker they give us trails back.

That werewolf is a bugger still, have to laugh when it first opened I was riding it every week, due to whatever reasons it was made easier and now I can’t seem to get the bugger at all! lol!

Won’t make this build day, hopefully the next one.

Yep, she had a massive off at Wolftrax good few years back and this killed her mountain biking off tbh. Cannock was in transition of change at the time stego had just gone in and that didn’t help, FOD we did twice last year, just after a nice day out, some trail riding that’s not too tricky, a nice drive, good food not far from the trail. Trying to turn the trips we both go on to days out, quality time. Unlike the sunday biking I do which is basically get round ftd/monkey as past as possible, café stop then home!

Afan might be worth a shot, she has rode the wall before and enjoyed that, if we went Thursday could be quieter than usual.

Lol cannocks blue, its just fireroads, I know I ride there most weekends!

The thing with glentress its quite rewarding for the climbing, and yep the BPW is fun, while I will do 4 runs maybe with the climbs, im not sure my OH would do more than 1.

For me its an echo of the above keeps me from the darkside and cycling helps my bad knee and keeps the surgery at bay. But the biggest thing is the social aspect, im not a very social person but cycling lets me catch up with friends etc..

A couple of friends work this way and have loads of family time, and even quite a few family members, family events I tend to find im at work (not a bad thing!!) sometimes and yep during the summer I find the evenings are a lost time as im and my OH are at work, even the early shifts we get once a week at most tend to 7-6.

I would say yes if you have another PS device a vita or a PS3 and subscribe o PS Plus then its a big yes, I keep getting free (Ok a rental) of games I was going to buy, PS4 currently we are getting free indie games some good some not sure good.

The only issue I have with my ps4 is occasionally the Blu-ray function just doesn’t work on selected blu-rays but then they work fine on the ps3.

Mary kings close is well worth it, not my usual thing but the oh loves that sort of thing. Tbh it was really fascinating! We did the vaults ghost tour that was ok as well, other than that just had a nosy round and did whatever we wanted.

Yep sorted it now, like I said daft question, a quick turn and all locked and no play, simple things eh. Thanks

Would def sit on a few bikes and get a feel for the size, demo days are well worth a trip. You might not get the bike your after but will help with size and brand as often the more expensive bikes have the same geometry as the lower end bikes.

My OH first proper bike was a Giant XTC, 15.5″ frame and at the time she thought it was great, until we did a long trip and she just complained the bike wasn’t right. She is 5ft3 short legs, after searching round we couldn’t find a bike that would fit. In the end we went for something a bit more expensive a import company did a “W” specific for shorter legs, her new bike fits perfectly, reach standover height etc…

What im trying to say is try as many bikes as you can, oh and speshi do some great BG saddles for those longer rides.

Think it was about 3 months, I had concussion lol! I did spit a chunk of tooth away, which I was reminded of by my mates after the crash, none of them picked it up for me :)

The good news is they are rock solid now, I tried not to google and just got on with it, dentist xrays them once a year and I have to go back every 6 months just to check them out. Dentist said if the tooth went black round the gum line then the tooth is dead and that’s when the trouble starts.

Yep over the bars, front ones where loose for ages, dentist left them alone and waited for them to settle down. After about 1 year I had the front one which I lost about 1/4 of in a chunk they just stuck an additional piece on.

My front two have shattered all the way through you can see the cracks when you shine a light through, and ive lost all nerve feeling cold/hot doesn’t seem to effect them. Been told at some point will have to have them removed, my crash was 5 years ago and so far still have my front teeth.

Its an odd day, the shop I work in opens as normal, its classed as a bank holiday, so we volunteer to work for an overtime rate or take it as one of the 8 bank holiday days we have as part of our holiday package.

For me I didn’t volunteer to work, but on the other hand I didn’t book it off, got to Thursday and got dragged into the bosses office as they wanted me to work, I pointed out I hadn’t volunteered so was going biking, they said I hadn’t booked it off, to which I replied prove it show me my holiday meeting form (knowing damn well they never do these for managers!) so catch 22. Needless to say I went biking this morning, lovely day for a day off!!

They did get there own back, im scheduled to work 3-12 tomorrow evening to lock down the shop, more fool them, I can go biking in the morning as well now!!

Problem I had was one insurer dumped me once my bikes got past 3 years old, my home contents while initially agreed to insure the bikes but when I probed found out they were shocked at the value of my bikes then decided not to.

When I went for a specific cycle cover, they covered yep but cost more than my home contents, and when I cancelled threatened me with legal action for not having the policy for a year, even though I called and agreed over the phone to cancel the policy as I had found home contents cover for them.

Luckily and so far haven’t had to claim, that’s the true test, currently with B&B who insure my home contents cheaper than my bank will and cover the bikes I have as well so all good at the moment. Oh and I got a free Meerkat!!

GShock watch, thought it was a limited edition US one, turned out not to be, but still a genuine gshock.
iPhone 5s anti glare screen protectors
    iPhone 5s griffin cover
    iPhone 5s belkin cover
    Shimano olives for slx brakes.

Rarely use ebay but had a spurge lately, new phone always helps.

I hope so, I’m a short arse who has just brought a 29er as my second bike. Although recent history shows I will keep it 2 years and then sell it off.

I do miss safeway, but thats because i worked for them for many years, the morrisons takeover just ruined everything we knew about the company but thats a take over.

Virgin Megastores! great shops, i guess the bigger question is who will go next?

Gary fisher, I know in bed with trek now but his 29ers and erm 69ers great bikes and even though the brand has dropped with just trek designed by gf they are still great bikes. Plus he comes across as a likeable guy.

I’ve always been a big fan of reba’s run them on my camber at 120mm, last bike had them at 100mm and my 29er (in the post) has them at 100mm. My OH has an old Giant Xtc which has them in 80mm version, for a light weight biker they always felt plush and just work.

Had some Revs at 140mm but when i fitted the spacer to cut them down to 125mm they never felt right.

I work in retail management, work for biggest supermarket in this country maybe one day the world !! All retail is tough at the moment, we are restructuring taking a level of management out, line mgr my role having to reapply for our jobs so they can cut salaries down.

I have a degree but it’s worthless now as it was in computer science, not sure what else I would do if the worse happened, just racking up some Sunday overtime and a few bank hols for a saving fund, to see me through the tough times ahead.

Im past 30, closer to 40 damn thats creeping up!

Ordered a Grand Canyon Al 29er 6.9, pretty much same reason as you although no races!! keep my speshi camber 26er for big days out and the canyon for mincing round on round cannock and towpaths, can’t wait to get mine, tbh i was looking at the cf one but went alu as i know it will be ok.

Plus fairly unique not seen any in the wild, and not sure many have the hardtails over here, more of a nerve/spectal imports from what ive seen on forums.

Ive got one of the above as well, fits perfectly in the boot, and ive got a new shape c3 which doesn’t have the biggest boot. Great rack and fairly lightweight, although was heavier than i expected, holds bikes in place an even had a slight crash and no issues.

Basically coming down a b road in scotland, biker (motorbike) coming towards me in the middle of the road, he didn’t stop came straight at me, i ditched the passenger side of the car to avoid hitting him, felt the rack flex and bounce through the car, but no damage what so ever. Just got very muddy all up the inner of the car. Its a great rack! I got mine from tesco direct was a litle cheaper and clubcard points.
