PS Store is massively overpriced, best bet is to shop around, I got some pre-orders at Tesco as they had a £5 voucher last month off each pre-order. They need to get the ps store cheaper than the retail price.

Oh and you don’t get a physical copy so you just get the download.

I got the above email as well, I ordered the flat bar road bike for my commute to work, I knew the blue was out of stock so wasn’t expecting an email.

The next gen is currently in a blimp as in nothing is really coming through, its like it caught the developers out. Games which may be of interest, Infamous Second Son is pretty good, Wolfenstien if you just want to blast everything, Resogun which was free with ps plus.

Games coming Destiny looks immense, then yesterday at Gamescom they announced lots of new stuff tearaway looks insane! the bad news is the new Lara Croft game is going to be Xb1 exclusive.

The sirrus I wanted has fallen through, literally tredz now saying the bike isn’t available until December. Fairly annoyed wish they had said that from day 1, ive gone for the planetx carbon flatbar bike, I know they have had there problems, but its a great bike with some great reviews for the dropbar version, it should do the job for those commutes to work and should do training duties well as well.

I’ve gone for the elite disc, fairly light and will do the job, my commute is 11 miles, possibly train one way depending on shift pattern. Only concern is time frame if none in stock it’s a wait until December.

Its salary based now, mine went up to £5k I nearly fell over, quickly reduced my limit down to £900. Far too tempting at £5k!

Last Wednesday, getting trickier to get out on the mtb lately, after a big crash OH prefers me not to go mtb’ing alone, as all my mates work same job as me, means its difficult to get a few hours in. Road bike on the other hand is getting loads of miles in.

On hols in 2 weeks hoping to get a blast in wales and the FOD.

I noticed I need to replace them often, I was a senior manager about 8 years ago, dug my shirts out from last time and tbh they look out of fashion and when they fitted fine back then, look slightly odd when compared to a new shirt I have in the same size.

Plan to keep using my work issue ones while training over the next few weeks then when I go into my own place will swap over, gives me a couple of weeks to find some and get them washed, nothing worse than new shirt collar rash.

5s would be the better one as it has the processor which no one has found a real time way to use yet, so it will be in the next iphone as well.

I could be wrong, but my simpsons apps and strava are no quicker on the 5s compared to the 4s I had before.

Wear whatever you feel like! On the charity ride I did last week one of the guys was in full team sky kit and another in saxobank (last years) they thought I was a bit odd in my Rapha Club jersey (although it was the team sky version).

People don’t tend to care much and if your comfortable while on the bike then just enjoy it.

Personally I quite like the Garmin Sharp kit, well I did until Alan Sugar was seen wearing it.

Can’t remember the name of the pub on the high street, the one opposite the chip ship. We went one night as the Italian was shut got chicken cheese bacon BBQ sauce, chips and salad plus 2 pints for under £15, needless to say we ate there all week after that. Good quality food lots of TVs at different angles to watch sky sports.

It was more the case of running out of daylight and time, 2 of the guys were doing the whole 205 miles, our local lbs does a relaxed pace ride, hoping to get on one of those, normally I’m working late on the days, keep pestering boss at work for an early shift that means actually leaving on time.

Yep, I did 144km and over 3,000ft in climbing that I recorded on strava. Need to get a gps unit as strava killed my phone yesterday.

I take away the fact I enjoy cycling at my own pace and that’s not the same as others, I did a great thing for charity yesterday and raised funds that wouldn’t normally of got there, and the fact I don’t feel too bad today just the odd aches.

Job done yesterday although we had a few hitches along the way. Did a total of 90 miles, which is pretty impressive for me, the downside is I didn’t have the pace, really caught me out. Will explain:

Me and rich from work took the train Solihull to Hereford was the plan, the train tracks got hit by a lighting bolt outside ledbury so we got off the train, the replacement service refused to take the bikes on to Hereford so we went to the Tesco store as we knew ledbury was on the route. We got there an hour before the group ride, lashing it down with rain and thunder and lighting above us we decided to keep moving as were wet already, we then got to Hereford the wrong store as there are 2 of them, quick photo with the store management then onto the next Hereford store, still ahead of the pack we carried on to Worcester.

Damn that hill!! Frome hill was immense and the lure of the café at the top kept me going but it was closed!!!! The sun came out and the scenery was just amazing, a great day out to be out on the bike, slowly started to dry out.

We got to Worcester and tbh this was a bit of a disaster phone couldn’t find the stores, we went round in circles, in the end found the right store, greeting with banana’s and much needed water. We waited 20 mins as the group caught up with us, then on to the next Tesco store. Came very apparent to me that I wouldn’t hit the pace the 2 guys riding 1 was a semi pro and the other rides regularly with him so they can ride at 18-20mph I can’t get close, off to Quinton in Birmingham via droitwich I peeled off, told them to carry on I would detour and find my way home before dark. Tbh I was and still am a bit gutted but the pace was beyond me, I couldn’t match it or even come close.

I stayed on the route until Bromsgrove, looking back stupidly went via rednal which killed my legs, although the downhill at lickey hills was immense! then on to Tesco Hall Green the overall finishing point just before 10pm. I honestly thought the group would be there, but nope they made it just after midnight.

A great day out, ive raised so far £75 for charity that we wouldn’t normally of raised, ive realised that I just don’t have the pace to hack it with the younger guys anymore and that I will continue to enjoy cycling but not worry about my pace and just enjoy it, it got a bit painful towards the end last night!!

Many thanks to the guys on here who have sponsored me, I got the mileage done!! if anyone wants to sponsor now the route is done the link is above.

Yep ordered some gels and jelly beans form Mersin yesterday, and looks like they will be delivered today, didn’t want to ask guys on here as I know all spare cash goes to bike bits but struggling for sponsorship, stuck at £75 although I’ve had a few retweets and shares no money is coming through, if anyone can donate then great, or if you guys could share the link with other forums/groups to gain more coverage and more sponsorship would be great.

Rest day today except I’m working late shift at work boo!

I cycling the Birmingham City bit this morning, 30 miles through the city, the stop start stop start didn’t help. Picked up another bottle cage and off to get some gels this afternoon.

At least I know the route through Birmingham and visited every store we are passing, rest of today just planning a walk nothing too long and then relax, Friday luckily I’m early shift at work so no problem with sleep that night.

Rest of the day trying to get coverage for sponsorship, I only set a £200 limit to get to, stuck at £50, managed to get some good retweets via work, time to tweet David miller he’s not up to much might get a retweet!!

The only thing I was going to change was to get rid of my baggy shorts, been using bib shorts last few weeks under my baggies, only problem is trying to figure out where to put stuff!! if I go full mamil.

I do have a proper cycling jersey but have found its too warm recently so was going to stick to a climachill t-shirt I got a couple of weeks back as that’s more comfortable in the heat, just no pockets.

    Link for justgiving is:

A fair bit of fund raising has been done through store, set this up this evening a bit late, should of done it sooner. No donations as yet but im sure will get a few over the coming days. Planning on a bigger ride in the autumn, just need to sort the final details.

Saturday is the ride, its part of a 200 miler one of the guys at work is doing, im riding the last 75 with him, not starting the ride until 3pm Saturday, that will probably kill me more as im more an early morning biker!

Had a look round and a play on a few bikes today and so far came up with this:

    http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Specialized-Sirrus-Elite-Disc-2015-Road-Bike_72133.htm

Not a tredz but only link I can find, fits well, has road gearing just missing the one, surprised it’s only 9 speed, got a quote for cycle to work and my payrise covers it’s so I’m no worse off, any thoughts?

Having a look online this morning, I do want road ratio gearing and not mtb as I need the extra gears and would feel like ive ran out of gears on the mtb ratio’s.

Had a look at the pinnacle range, the neon don’t seem too bad and similar to what I think im after.

No showers at work, plan to train/drive one day a week take in enough shirts/trousers for the week then bike the rest of the week, I used to have a rapid a few years back but changed to my canyon roadbike, I might use the canyon for a bit but don’t want to trash it so thought a commuter would save me pennies, I do like the boardman for value and has everything I need, hoping for a halfords sale!!

I run the lowest levers the apex and tbh they are great, sharp shifting and in the last year not let me down. Coming from mtb the double tap didn’t quite click for me at first but now its second nature.

I had some goretex soloman ones for about a year, they eventually fell apart, just got some Jack Wolfskin trainers for walking to work, waterproof and comfy, will see how long they last.

Its seems a bit easy to wind people up at the moment, Wednesday I was at a mini roundabout, just chatting on the phone to a someone at work, handsfree using the iphone headphones, the guy opposite again a jag (a trend here) went right without indicating so I was forced to a stop. He assumed I said something when I was talking to someone else, he slammed his brakes on and stuck his head out the window to give me some abuse for commenting on his driving. When he opened the car door to get out I just cycled off and let him have his rant to no one.

The family found the money at the start of the episode where he buried it, we didn’t see what they did with it.

They were arguing in the car, husband gets out to pee in the snow and finds the scraper and then finds the money.

Its the one thing ive struggled with since starting to road bike, on the mtb padded shorts no problem, on the road bike it doesn’t work. I’ve tried padded shorts, didn’t work. Padded Rapha Boxers slightly better for short rides long rides, didn’t work. Padded lycra shorts from DHB, better than the other 2 but still not quite right but I think its down to the size, going to order a smaller size in the shorts and see if that fixes this problem once and for all!

One thing I would say is get the right size, don’t be afraid to send stuff back, I haven’t and really should do I’ve got a couple of shorts I should of returned. Tempted to get some rapha bib’s but the only ones reasonable are “Team Sky” and tbh don’t really want those.

Genuine Oakley lenses in my rxsports sunglasses the lenses have the Oakley symbol and a certificate of proof, while my vision express normal glasses are being glazed by vision express.

Rxsport offer the choice on normal glasses for clear lenses by them which most glasses come in at £150-£200 and Oakley lenses which cost £300-£400.
