Both my other bikes on are ebay, neither have bids but have 15/20 watchers respectively so hopefully a last minute bidding war. Got the email my new bike is going to be a week late, bugger no bike for 4 weeks looks like lots of road riding!

Just ordered a new Speshi Camber Comp 650b, 130mm travel, hoping I’m made the right call but on paper looks the bike for me.

No big drops, some mincing over drop-off’s the BPW blues\reds keeping the wheels to the trails, I reckon its the right bike for me.

I am keeping my road bikes, so n+1 still, I had a blast on the stumpjumper comp 650b and in small was perfect looking at the charts and spoke to the speshi concept store small should be right.

I’ve relisted the one on ebay with a low start price at £300, alu hardtail, Reba forks, 29er, mix of xt/slx/deore brakeset and gears starting at £300 that’s a cheaper start than the sum of its parts and will see how that goes before I try the more expensive bike on ebay.

I have dropped them below the others similar, I get the confusion in wheel size, I had the debate while out this morning for a blast, as we debated which wheel sized bike to get to next. Both decided a few years back it was full sus or hardtail now there are too many options!

Both of the bikes are tapered steerer, one is one of those 29ers and the other an old fashioned 26″

I use Oakleys, I know cost a fortune, but they do the trick, Got some half jackets which when I got them didn’t look too bad, now I will admit they look pretty stupid but they do the job.

Would definitely grab another pair of oakleys for cycling just the cost stops me at the moment.

Not sure this helps but I really want one as well, big problem I’m 5ft5 ish and the med is slightly too big, wish they did a small framed version!

Overpriced and took forever to get the food in the one in Bullring, wouldn’t go again. Could of got a better meal and a beer and less wait at Nando’s!

Did find a place in Dublin Bobo’s I think it was just outside the temple bar area, the burgers in there immense!! Man Vs Food quality burgers!

TBH the more I look at them the spectral seems to be the one to go for, tempted to get the base model, get some XT brakes from merlin, then just ride it!

Will say that my Grand Canyon is a fun bike to ride, amazing at the downhill and climbs for a 29er HT.

I can wait, no issue I have a winter hardtail that will help the itch through those cold winter months, and tbh during the winter I tend to stick to Cannock.

Just trying to figure out what bike to get, normally I’m happy to have 2 bikes kicking around but in the position I need the space back and I want to get something that will keep the next 2-3 years.

Was looking at the spectrals as well, I need something to help build confidence descending, always hitting the brakes over the bars etc… just never had a bike with 140mm travel before. Climbing no issue, I’m slow and will always will be lol!

It will be my one and only bike, I do have a Canyon Grand Canyon as my winter bike 29er and get on with that great, its going once I decided and have ordered my new bike.

Shimano all the way, I got some hope ones to bling the bike up they kept coming loose which was disappointing, only other I use which aren’t really QR are the wind up DT swiss ones I got with the bike.

I wanted a camber evo but can’t find one in small, I’ve searched and searched only med/lg in stock, my 26 camber was a med and slightly too big so I know I need a small frame.

Well ive provisionally sold my camber, now to figure out what to get, 3 years ago no problem. Now its:

    29er short travel
    650b long travel or
    650b short travel.

Will def be a full sus, back to looking at bikes online!

Seriously considering another camber but they are overpriced for what they are. Any recommendations for a short arse, tyres on the ground trail rider?

    Well I could get a 130mm 29er!!

My avids are hanging in the bike shed as a reminder never get these on a bike again!

Run SLX on my proper bike, and deore on the other. I’m pretty sure Merlin have some XT’s in the sale at the moment at £95 for the pair, bargain!

The only problem I had was sourcing the new barrel for easy bleeding, but now have 3 after a Halfords error.

    I can’t make out the wheel size? 650b? 29er?

I had a P7 and been waiting for Orange to re-release it was a great bike, although a little heavy on the climbing.

I understand why people get worked up over the euro etc…but the price they sell it is the price we pay. I’ve got 3 canyons at the moment and all bargains over a UK off the shelf brand.

Waiting for them to show us the Nerves will be getting one of these this year. Well probably next year, been told I have to sell my speshi first.

Tyn y groes is an odd place to stay, we did last feb, no one else in the bar at night, room while comfy felt creepy, felt like a ghost hunt trip rather than MTB trip. Staff seemed pleasant enough, we got there at 4pm just getting dark and seemed like it was shut. We did book in advance.

Oh the windows have plastic on the inside to insulate but there’s a 30cm void between the original window and plastic, only found out as we heard a noise outside went to look and smacked my nose off the plastic!

Haven’t returned but might do in the summer perhaps not the best in the winter, far too creepy for me!

I got rid of the avids ages ago, run slx now, but it’s the only change as the bike is pretty much flawless.

It’s a great bike, only bike I’ve ever had with no faults or anything that o dislike, makes it harder to part with it or believe there is anything better out there!

I use the Thule Euroway G2 as I only ever have 2 bikes on the go, its a great piece of kit well built and does the job, my bikes have no issues with, when I pick up a mate and his bigger bike he has to lock the suspension down to make it fit. Worth checking before you buy.

Currently playing well trying to play:

Splatoon (Wii U) good fun for a blast, using the Nintendo Amiibo to unlock other levels etc..

Batman: Ak (Ps4) really trying to get on with this but I can’t seem to get into the game like I have with previous batman games hoping a bit more game time should help this.

Never leave the bikes unattended, did the stupid thing in Fort William a few years back, left the bikes on the roof of the car d-locked, cabled etc…came back to see the car parked 3 up from mine, bike racks ripped off the car bikes gone, luckily mine still there but made me thing twice.

Now whenever we travel someone stays with the car, quick service stop one goes for coffees or food while other stays with the car and keeps an eye on the bike. Its surprised me the amount of people that stop and look at them then move on when they realise me or my OH are sat in the car watching.

They renamed it a fit note so you can return early if you feel well enough.

Im the last person to say about this, recently took a promotion and stressed to the point my days off have been ruined and work has suffered I should of never took the promotion.

Keep telling myself it will get better, new management team coming to work with me, as the current guys have resigned and don’t give a toss about it.

I have my step down letter to go back to my old position just haven’t handed it in yet, seriously tempted, I want my life back and to be able to go out biking again!

Not yet, I had too many silly offers the bikes a great bike and still looks new, I wanted £850 but I kept getting £400-£500 offers, its worth more than that, I sold my OH’s giant xtc which was 10 years old a few weeks back for £450 and that was a silly 15″ frame, the camber is a nice sensible M.

Its a great bike love riding it, might just save up for the new bike and get it next year and then I won’t be so attached to the 26er!

The camber is the perfect bike for me, ive got the 2012 expert last of the 26ers, really want a new 29er but can’t seem to give up the 26er its such a great bike. Tempted to get the Evo in the sales, just haven’t seen them marked down yet.

On the other side, the little expresses and locals can be mayhem on sundays after the bigger stores have closed so this would lessen the pressure on these stores, my store takes 20% of its takings on a sunday after the big stores shut and it takes us 3 days to recover the shop so there is a bonus.

For me I work in retail and none of my mates do they all have mon-fri 9-5 jobs so a sunday off is great but those days may be long gone.

    LMT

I think its wrong, and I work in retail, we never get any time off. Sunday after 4 or 5 in the bigger stores at least you can say I will be home for tea. I work in the smaller express stores these are open stupid hours 6-midnight everyday local councils need to clamp down on these, yes its a service but we coped in the old days with half day opening on Wednesday and closed on a sunday.

Someone said above we don’t know what to do when the shops shut and your right, that’s why we have massive credit card debt and numerous other anti-social issues, shut the shops!!

Another vote for the Orange p7 I loved mine, still wished I hadn’t sold it but what’s done is done. Mine was a 2010 one classic black with white decals great bike.

My other vote as an xc trail bike, the Speshi Camber Expert 2012, 10/10 mbr, pretty sure it got Bike of the year in one of the mags, I’ve still got mine and its an awesome bike.

Even though im trying to sell it, will be sad to see it go to the point I probably won’t sell it.

Yep pushed the pads, wheel is unlocked but the lever has no play, brakes on or off, unlike the front which I can drag the brake a little.

Redkite was a no, they can but booked solid, plus one of the mechanics on holiday, again normally my first stop for anything, local friendly service. Always stupidly busy if you want something doing that week. I do like Redkite tbh.

Dynamic I tried, as not too far again nope can’t do those brakes can only bleed shimano, but fair play to them they gave me a lead who I contacted today Cult Cycles Earlswood tbh didn’t know they were there so off there Thursday. Guy I spoke to on the phone really friendly said no problem, just need to work out what the issue is with them.

Found somewhere a bit more “local” today only 7 miles away so not too bad, shop was shut yesterday so tried a few of those open today, and they can fit it in Thursday for me, so a result.

I tried scotts second as they are normally my fallback LBS but nope he hasn’t got the kit to do them.

There used to be a great bike shop at Robin Hood but that’s long gone, scotts is one of those proper bike shops.

Well some tinkering done and the wheel isn’t locked anymore, but im pretty sure its just a bleed it needs. Far too much pressure at the lever as in only 5mm of movement before its fully locked, while the front one acts more like my shimano a good bit of pull and you can drag them, no way of dragging the rear brake it will lock and skid, can’t be skidding on the trails.

Goldenwonder whereabouts are you? I could list the LBS I’ve called bur t wouldn’t be fair, I should of said I wanted the brakes sorted this week, but didn’t get that far into any conversation, I will say fair play to one LBS who couldn’t do it but suggested a rival LBS which was closed today.

Bens name did come up but they are closed today.

Yep loved the first 2 series or seasons or whatever, the new one is too dark and trying to be too clever. Its a pity its been canned as looks like it could of been awesome, I was looking forward to them catching up with the films main plot and Hannibal being behind bars, plus unfinished business from the previous season.

I use multiple saves for my games just in case of issues like this, so as long as he hasn’t overwrote the same save file, just load game and pick the one previous to losing everything.

Ignore the above, sorry checked if you delete the players pretty much stuffed, might be worth an email to EA under there support banner, but might be a case of money lost.

Pretty much the same with destiny, saw a player lose everything he purchased as he was hacked by another player pretending to help he lost everything he was only 12 as well.

Just revert back to an old save game with the data on it.

I enjoy the ride from the 29er it suits me, I don’t do big jumps and I’m no weekend warrior so to be able to blast round on the HT is great, those big days out always refer back to the full sus.

Its more of a case of I want a 29er full sus, short travel as that would do all my biking needs, as for the trousers yep partly true and I don’t mind saying it, but swmbo has a point we have no spare space for another bike. All im doing is combining my existing bikes into one, best of both worlds!

Saying that, looking round on forums might be trickier to sell the 2 bikes I have as it is.
