112 is the euro standard emergency number
999 is what everyone is used to in the uk
    UK operators use both
All GSM/UMTS handsets will allow emergency call on any network, even without a SIM inserted, but you need to have coverage of some sort because it is not magic
I’m guesing that they tell you to use 112 just in case (a) you are abroad or (b) you are close enough to e.g. France or Ireland.

I got a £600 boardman roadbike on b2w. I’m not going to bother to do masses of research at that price point so I got what was in the shop. Wheels, chain, cassette only lasted ~2000 year round miles but I guess thats not too bad. The good visible kit means they compromise elsewhere, but I’m not bothered as I expected as much. Everything else fine. I don’t reckon you’ll get much better at the same price.

The shop I got it from was not as good as my particular LBS; staff more enthusiastic than professional. But then, they were much better that some of the LBS I’ve been to.

Bet I can show you 2 crap LBS for every 1 crap bike hut.

We went close to Verbier with our 2 last year

No stop over unless you live in the north. Should get there by 8-9pm if you are in Calais by 9, drive at the speed limit, and stop often.

    Take the train

Make sure you have a full complement of Nintendo/iPod/story books/DVD/sweets/valium/whatever

What makes you think they are charging you over the odds anyway? Maybe they are, maybe not, how sure are you? Are you sure you are aware of all the issues? I think that on the evidence that you cannot figure out how to do this yourself, then maybe not. I think you would be better off (a) talking with them to understand why it is more work than you expect and (b) discussing if there are any other possiblities that are easier.

Anyway, if you really don’t trust them then I’m sure there are tools to do GUI query building for MySql in an ‘access like’ way if you look around. This is better than using Access because, apart from Access not really being a ‘proper’ RDB, they are likely to say that your optimisations do not translate to MySql.

On the other hand, if the database does contain personal information, send it to me and I’ll forward it to the daily mail :)

After a good few years on hardtails only I am currently best liking 7 inches of heavy big tyred wallowyness

Rather than the usual ‘full suss made my trails boring’ I am finding it a refreshing change and just going faster instead. What line? Any line I **** want thanks.

And the climbs are just resistance training right?

Sky on the mid package. Works out pretty cheap if you also have sky for TV and phone. I’m sure this will change; if it does I’ll be off.

Connection advertises itself as 50 Meg, of course the real value is not that, but it is good enough for for work, browsing, itunes, gaming, but I’m not a torrent user.

Only problems were after a year (after a clumsy teenager / power switch event) the sky provided router broke. New one received within 48 hours which is not bad. They seemed very surprised about it. No problems with the actual line.

Before that was on BT for 3 years. Not a single problem in that time either. I’m not really sure what a service sold as being ‘reliable’ would do differently to most others tbh. Someone enlighten me.

Saw them a few times back in the day ™.

IMO, and funnily enough, you need to be in an otherworldy state before you really ‘get’ the Ozrics.

Also IMO they went downhill after pungent and then ed and jo went of to do eat static

I had some of those Adidas ones. After 6 months swimming 1/2 times a week they are more loose/stretched but still usable. I recently got some Keifer, so we’ll see how they go.

My youngest swims 10 hours a week and she goes through a suit every 2/3 months.

RudeBoy she’s got a pair of those too

oolite is harder than the original imo I kept getting stuck too weak in a difficult area (or maybe those reaction times have slowed)

docking is easy just get properly lined up before even thinking about it

a software great too – all the galaxies were generated by algorithm rather than explicit data or else it would not have fit.

Depends how up for it he is.

For trail centres around that age mine liked FoD, Timberland, and Cwm Carn (climb on road, or better – take uplift).

One of mine at that age wrote a story for school entitled ‘Uplift Day at Mount Mojo’ in fact :)

A mates done Penhydd with his kids, about that age, but it took a long time.

I think Bechfa blue would be a similarly good long ride.

Last year in the alps I saw a guy towing his kid up a long climb using a long luggage strap. Kid was pedalling a bit but its not as full on for them. Wish I had thought of that.

Were there this weekend. Started from Abergorlech. It took us about 4/5 hours to do red and black for a big mixed group. I thought the black sections were OK but on the whole the red sections were better. The blue looks fun. Some long fireroad on the red but its worth it. Didn’t see any closed sections.

I cut out drinking on school nights since a couple of years ago. Much easier to get up in the mornings and more energy. I think you will find it is more about breaking routine and habit than an addiction.

If I, as an ordinary non-Babylonian citizen, pushed someone over in the street and they died, I would get done for contributing to their death somehow, rather than simple common assault.

If you pushed someone over – not at random but in some context – they were a bit dazed, got up and walked away, then later collapsed. What would you be ‘done’ with? I’m not so sure you would be that heavily penalised if it turned out the person had an existing heart condition. That would not seem fair.

It was clearly an overreaction and the police have not got a leg to stand on. But should the policeman be prosecuted? With what – assault? manslaughter? I am not so sure in this case.

get caught up and held in the kettle and the police refused to let him leave,

Tragic as the death is I would rather see an investigation into the way the police use this tactic. I think they are in danger of going too far and it might provoke more violence than there would otherwise be.

OK I did not view a copy with sound. But it does not change anything.

    Police over reaction.

    Tragic accident.

We don’t know what was happening in the lead up to it. I heard on newsnight that he was ‘not a protestor’, if not then what was he doing there? There is no sound on the film. But in any case the way he was pushed to the ground looks like an over reaction.

But if he had a heart attack shortly afterwards then it was just a matter of time anyway. If not that day then a few months later when he gets his next shock to the system. Someone with medical knowledge please correct me if I’m wrong.

Looks like a tragic accident to me.

And I’m a right-on Guardian reader who supports the protest.
