I think the play is in the inner shock shuttle.
i.e. I think there are three pivots in this area, and I think it’s in the middle joint

no issues here – whenever I’ve used them, the stuff’s arrived within a couple of days.

that is a shame… a quiet night in with that on was always good.

Surely you’d only ‘really’ miss it if you use it?

Go through the photos you ever taken over the years and get one or two framed and up on a wall – much more useful.

If you think you may use it in 10 years time, then keep it, but otherwise it’s jist going to be a cash sink of sentimentality

Started watching Series 1 on uktvplay, but they only have episodes 1-3 on there – any idea where I can catch up with the rest of series 1?

As is my usual form with watching England play footie, I thought I’d watch the first half, and think about what I’d do while the second half was on.

At half time I was surprised that I’d been entertained and stayed to watch the second half… more entertainment… pleasantly surprised

    :-)

Thanks for all the ideas – this is going to keep me going for a good while.

Yep, looks like porridge with something to spice it up looks like the option of choice.. will give it a go, but suspect that I’ll be bored of that in a few weeks.

It’s what known as a ‘victimless crime’.

It may be known as victimless, but it’s not actually victimless.

It’s quite frustrating to see that despite thee fact that there’s a high chance that fraud is likely to take place at a known time and place that the authorities aren’t interested…

our society frustrates me so much at times – I’m not sure if it’s always been like this, or as I get older I see more of it.

What on earth is going on with those grips & pedals?

I quite like the orange… it’s like how the lift points are marked on a structure… just need an orange saddle now Weeksy

A bit of a lightweight here – try to do one commute a week (27km each way) but have had a few weeks off while I tried to sort out my tubeless and airless setup.
Back on it this week hopefully.

Mindhunter is an excellent series with a crime theme

Although expensive, I found that Hein Gericke was the best cash I spent on a jacket – many many seasons old and still doing the business (although not called into action too often nowadays).
Never really felt the cold when wearing it – even though as IanK45 mentions, it can have a tendancy to hold water (nikwax spray temporarily sorts that though)

    ha haa.. nice
Reminds me of the one we saw when riding around Rutland Water… at the top of every little hill Anglian Water had put a warning sign up instructing cyclists to dismount.

    Steep Hill !?!?

On one, someone had quite rightly written “stop patronising us!”
(wish I’d taken a pic of the graffiti’d one.

glad you’re ok there – it is very frustrating out there on the roads these days. I find I have at least one pass every ride on the roads these days and puts me off quite a bit.

Ahh.. interesting that there are different “Vortex” models.

You see, it seems like a good deal until I tell you it only works with proprietary Tacx software and won’t work with Zwift

Is there a specific reason it only works with the proprietary software? My Vortex works quite happily with Zwift etc

I feel your pain – I struggle through periods where I ride a fair amount and others where I struggle to get out the door; even when the weathers perfect.

Almost always enjoy it when I do get out, and find the best thing for me is to simply say I’m going a day or two in advance – if I say to myself that I ‘might’ go, then I never do.

I’ll be getting togged up in some sort of vampire kit then drinking too many beers while kids eat too many sweets and then throw up on the bouncy castle*

Still running 26” here – I was hoping that 26 stuff would be going cheap left right and centre, but whenever I seem to need something it’s never on sale.

Thanks guys for all the input. I took a few photos this afternoon :
    The forks :

And the bottom of the steerer tube has had the paint knocked off… with what looks suspiciously like a crack running through :

I’m wondering if this is now a write off – damn shame as this bike has brought the smile back to MTB riding for me in the last year

I think I’ll take the fork and headset out to have a look from inside next weekend.

no signs that I’m aware of – and like you say a little stealthy

I was impressed with how well the bike survived it – the car was unscathed, but bike rail was totalled though.

Interested in seeing the damage tho

I’ll take some photo’s to post later

Cheers Ricks – I think I’m going to take a look inside, and probably stick with option 1 until I see a bargain set of 26″ forks.

thisisnotaspoon – understood, and I was nervous to start with too.

mjsmke – oops, I think I was maybe too cryptic… I drove into this car park on an off the cuff thought of I’ll go explore… didn’t even see the height restrictor.
In my fluster I nearly made the mistake of putting the bike back on the spare bike rail, and driving back out 8O

rather than mindless, I’d consider the term ‘not thought through’.

I think teens often do things without considering the different outcomes to what they expect.

Binge watched Mindhunter, but am going to savour this over the course of a few weeks… really enjoyed the first series and S2E1 seems to pick right up with the feel of series 1 – excellent !

Good to see Paul Glaiser Reiser back, took me a while to put a name to the face.

    FTFY
Took me a while to figure out where I’d seen him before too. I hope he lives up to “Burke”

Having one last ride over Porridge Pot before the Army closes it off for good

didn’t realise that was happening – is it both Porridgepot and Tunnel hill they’re closing?

Only ridden there a couple of times, but really enjoyed it.

Mum commuter had a rear mudguard made from plastic bottles and zip ties – does the job nicely, and means I can keep the 40c nano’s on there. #comfyBum
