I too have had a large 2015 (27.5 wheels) buit from ground up to my spec with

pikes / flow-hope / bergtech / sram / reverb / Invisiframe etc

It still looks new .it’s been great bike and the frame is built very well white some thoutht from obrea . It’s still on the original bearings with no sign of play ( never had a bike that’s done that before )

One of the best bikes I’ve owned

Ordered a Caterham 7 in late 2000 built it and registered in early 2001

its now done over 20.000 miles but has changed a bit over time .

You definitely need to do something as if they fold you will lose what’s left and try sorting that one out if this is what’s happened !

Had this with a pair of XTR 9sp shifters in top condition on eBay many years ago (£50 I think he paid)
Pics of them with info that they were used etc ( all clean ) 1st I know is that he’s had raised a case against me as they had traces of mud on them FFS !

Right after reading 2 pages of this i don’t understand WHY YOU haven’t driven over to where you bought it from ? And why did you pay so much to return it ! Surly it would of been just as cheap to taken it back by person and sorted it out there and then .
( unless you are not in the same country as the shop )

I’ve tried having the one bike but doesn’t work for me
As I hate the ups but love the downs etc and there’s no fun dragging a 160 enduro round on a shit flat muddy night ride when there’s no fun downs ! But on the other hand it’s not good when you have a light xc race kind of thing when you find the fun downs .
Now i just chose best one for the ride that day / night
and works very well .

So ended up with slack 29 ht
160 enduro bike and full on DH bike
Pretty much works well for me ( ps you don’t need to spend a lot for a good second hand DH bike )

Ps I would love a fat bike again but 4 would be pushing my luck with my other half .

I built one up around 4 months ago. Had a nuke proof scout before this for just over a year ( wanted the gt 1st but cost put me right off ) both built with similar parts and to be far I can’t tell that much difference.
Gt is XL and the scout is s large . Booth feel similar size as the gt comes up small compared to scout.
Both climb very well but i reckon the scout has it on this .
Downs not sure which is best yet as had revs on scout and pike on gt .

I’ve ran none boost xt on gt with 30 t ring but needed a small spacer behind crank and BB as without it would not work . ( race face cranks use the spaces )

Yes keep the levers together on each bike as a pair .
Then just swop over at levers ( zees / deore are the same )

Just do what I’ve done zee calliper on the front deore rear on two bikes. Best of both worlds.

Wide bars seem be giving my rists problems but once you’ve gone wide you can’t go back

35mm stem 780 bars 150mm dropper and the trusty hope / stans wheel combo
single ring up front .
Climbs really well and is also quick down .

But time has come for a change as got a deal on a frame that I wanted before I got the scout .

So yes it’s will be up for sale and forks ( just had a full service with one ride since )

Mate bought one just before me ( I rode his and loved it ) bike !
