I do ‘We recommend injecting more grease into new bearing to increase
service life, especially in wetter climates
‘ from the start, then remove, strip and put them in a sonic cleaner with some jizer, re-grease put back job done. Usually change for new(on pivots) every 18 months but my hope BB bearings have been going for a couple of years using this method. Someone will be along in the minute saying that this is ‘all wrong and they will fail because you have damaged the seals buy removing them‘ FFS

Thanks for the interesting comments on this thread and I’m so glad that everyone has a different POV, but protection is a personal thing and somethings work some don’t so I’m going to try one on this week and see if it actually fits my bonce.

I’ve just had a look to see when the thread was started. Yesterday! I wasn’t sure if it was the one started in 1997, 1998, twice in 1999, 2000, 2001, at least three possibilities in 2002, etc…. Not that it’s been done (to death) before or anything.

Sorry did I wake you up? 🙄

apart from a deflated helium balloon which had been put under a rock…

    Wondered where that went? 😉

Seriously though there has been fly tipping on a route our club uses for night riding, now it full of broken glass and industrial waste. Makes you think who’s put it there?

Im going through the same conundrum with my DHX 5 I got a price for a LV can,£27 plus £6 for sticker. Now having never taken the extra bit off I am wondering how big the gap is and I’m thinking about using o rings to fill the void. What yeah think?

Have you tried cleaning around the lever? Might be some muck holding the lever up?

Follow the fox link and you can’t go wrong, just remember to operate the damper to let out all the oil
