Seeds for the win.  Flower seeds, plant them, sell flowers.  Or tomatoes, as mentioned earlier.  So little effort even a kid can pull it off.

Another one, popcorn is high markup.

Jesus wept if some of the people on here got together their ideas we’d end up like North Korea.  Still you get a job and a house there…

South London.  Pm me details I’ll take a look.

Ideally to include pictures, price and location.

    Thanks

Has to be the most ridiculous idea I’ve ever heard.  The country is practically bankrupt and there are people looking at ways to tax and spend more.

And is there any way of getting a discount on the Dune, anyone know?

Can it be avoided with any sort of chain device do you think @Splash-man ?

Yeah, I can’t help thinking it’s the sort of bike that only really works with modern, light technology, which is why they weren’t around years ago.  But not having ridden one, I wouldn’t know.

I’m not really a serial upgrader, I prefer to shell out for the right bike and benefit from the economy of a full bike.  But second hand does appeal as I’d like to be able to change my mind without losing money.  And it is just a n+1 toy really which probably won’t get serious use.

Don’t the Dunes have a habit of breaking?

I was very tempted by your ICT when I saw that, but it’s quite heavy and I think I’d need something a bit lighter.  Also don’t really want to have to shop around for parts, as I have no knowledge of what bits fit with the hundreds of standards out there.

Thanks – in true STW I’m now looking at stuff the pro’s use on stage!  I should have said he’s an absolute beginner!  I can’t go for an Orange Crush as every time I type that in to Google I start looking at buying a new hardtail.

Headphone jack – now that is good advice.

Yep.  Max was weaving the whole length of the straight.  Daniel didn’t break any rules, Max did.  He’s been defending like that for ages, it’s been an incident waiting to happen.  Again.

What Finishthat said.  Exactly the right advice.  And the power and insulation bits too.

It’s your flat you can leave it empty for ever, it’s your choice, but that’s some funny logic!  The rental generated would be in addition to the increase in value!

Don’t tell her it’s hers.  Let her have the high ground and lecture you etc first, before ‘noticing’ and telling her it’s hers.  She won’t have much to say after that, and you can just show a bit of sympathy.

Yes but if you’re 5’10” you should be on a Medium so that’s a bit of an odd observation.  I’m 6ft on a Large Escarpe and I could easily fit a 150mm dropper.  Although the 2017 came with a 120mm one.

    Response from Vitus

    ————–

    Thanks for your email.

I am sorry to hear you have not been able to source a 2018, Vitus Sentier VRS+ model before they have sold out.

We did not anticipate the unprecedented high demand we have had so far this year, and as such our retailer partners have currently sold out. We are currently in the process of manufacturing more of these bikes and should receive confirmation of this within the next few months.

Once we can confirm an expected due date we will update our retail partners so they can update their listings.

Sorry I cannot be of more help for now, if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to ask.

    ————-

I’m not quite sure why he’s saying they’re sold out, because they’re not.  I just wanted to know if they’d have them all in the sale at the end of the summer like last year.  If they’re making a bunch more, it looks like they probably will be shifting them all well into next year.

I did.  The usual response ‘I don’t know the answer to that question, sorry’.  These big companies pay people to answer questions without actually giving them the ability to find out the answer because they don’t even work in the same building. (I’m guessing).

Where’s this pic?  I’d quite like to see the frame colour.   The CRC website has a habit of making colours look very different from the in-the-flesh colour.

I’m pretty sure they’re actually exempt from building regs too, funnily enough.

It was the grey 2017 vrs.  I hadn’t realised they’d got longer this year.

I had a medium specialized hardtail years ago, loved it.  Never knew any different.

You’re going to have a ball on that.

I’m 6ft and I had a go on a friend’s medium sentier the other day and it felt too small for me.  I ride a large vitus escarpe and I think they’re fairly short compared to other bikes.  I’m not a geometry guru however.

If I were 5’11” I’d have a Large.  CRC will probably swap it over if necessary, you’ll prob just have to cover postage.  I actually think you’d be fine on either.

I think the VRS looks like an awesome bike and for 900 quid I’m very tempted myself.

Maybe you need to try some wider bars.

It might be that two earth cables are in one earth sheath so just look like one.  But you must have an earth.  It’ll still work without but could be dangerous.  Buy a plug in socket tester as above which will test all the connections for about a tenner.

I used to have a boxster.  Then it was Mrs Linchpin in the drivers seat, jr in the passenger seat, me on my bike.

Matt I’ve no doubt it’s a great car but look at what you’ve become.  You’re that guy who laughs at people because their cars aren’t as practical as yours!

My son has the Riprock and loves it.  He doesn’t struggle with the weight which doesn’t seem to cause any issues… but then I had a Grifter when I was a kid which is still the heaviest bike I’ve ever picked up.

The suntour fork is useless though.  It works when I’m riding it but doesn’t really move for a child.  Can you take the spring out of one leg anyone?

Wow there’s so much more out there that I hadn’t seen. Thanks guys and girls. My wife’s talking about moving house now. Damn there’s all the spare cash gone for the foreseeable.
