If you're on a budget, then something like a LWB High top Transit might good.
Ive had mine for 3 years, and its perfect for biking.
There are 3 main back sections to my van – the bed is in the first window/sliding door, the kitchen/sink etc… in the next window and the last window (blacked out) will fit 3 bikes.
Plus, if you're needing more storage room/another double bed, then the space over the cab going back to the end of the sliding door is perfect for that.
Im heading up to Aviemore for a racing (road) weekend, and im taking 2 passengers and 6 bikes and loads of kit, so if you're on your own or there is just a couple of people, then there is more than enough room.

Do you really notice that!? No I didn't think so.

I meant the extra weight of the 36lb mtb over the 17lb road bike!!!!!!!!!

It might not be what you're after, but ive just downloaded the MP3 version of this bookabout a couple who saved up and sold up and are now cycling around the world.

I'm going to buy the books too, when i find them.
Im very tempted to do the same myself, if i can.

I recently put a road bike triple on my mtb 32/42/52

It was a tight squeeze for the chain stays, but with a few spins the chain rings dont scrape of the chain stays any more!

The reason i put this on, is because i use my mtb for chaingangs and i was seriously spinning out at 34mph and i could only hold that and not go any faster, so in tail wind/down hill sections when the speed went over that, i got dropped.
Now with 52×11 i have no problems, other than the extra weight when we hit the hills.

Ive had no other issues, other than putting 3 or 4 links back on the chain.

They've not charged for the helpline for a while now, its all free.

At the moment, they are up dating the lines, and upgrading customers.

Im apparently getting upgraded from 2mb to 10mb for free!

If you find yourself with spare time, you should just spam them back!

Go to London Gumtree and sign them up for ALL the E-Mail updates and send it to them a few times.

They'll get a few hundred emails every day until they un-subscribe

I would imagine they're Li-ion, so store them at 50% charge and stick them in the fridge, not the freezer!

Never store them fully charged or let them run down.

Is anyone else tempted to shove their 20p on E-Bay and see what happens?

Why does it now appear that every 20p is worth money?

People seem to be getting around £5 for a standard 20p!! with no date on the Queens head side, which from looking through all the 20p’s i have, is how they are made, as they have a date on the other side.
Does this mean i’ve got around £100 of 20p’s???

Im a bit confused, i’ve got this one here and they are selling it for/trying to sell it for £39!!
Its got a date, so is this just someone trying to con people?

He seems too nice!
Sending you a light when he has no money in his account!
Tell him you payed for 10 and see what he says! 😉

Anyway, im sure the light will be fine when you get it.

Mine seems good enough, did run time on low and got around 10hrs @ 1.1amps and on high its drawing 3.2amps, which is a bit on the high side.
So as they say, dont leave it on high if there is no cooling for it, and ignore the charge the battery every 2months crap.
Li-ion are better stored at 50% power in a cool place/fridge if not being used for a while.

Oh, remember other lights will look brighter, but wont be as bright, just look brighter, if you compare it to a c-bin P7!!

Well done for ordering the exact same light for more money!!

Do you not realise that all these company’s get the same products from the same manufacturers and some leave them as is OR like the one you’ve ordered, ad a name to it to make it look better!!

The only difference i saw, was that the LED at the back, changes when its nearly finished, and if its on theirs, then im sure it’ll be on the DX soon, if not already.

I would say the “12hr Dawn Raid” was the best course i’ve done, out of a few 10’s,puffer,enduro’s etc…
The laps were (for me) around 25mins, which meant you could pace yourself easier than a big 60min lap, plus i got more of a boost when i knew i’d be back through the finish quickly, as a posed to having done 30mins and knowing you’re only half way around.

For me, the course had a good mix of up’s and down’s and technical sections, with the usual big 1hr first lap to help split it up.

Camping was only 10seconds away from the start/finish, so very easy to dive in and get anything that was needed.

I have used mine all winter in really bad conditions

There was a guy posting on here who’d been through two or three, all of which needed to be returned. Your experience ain’t everyone’s experience.

Ive bought and sold over 40 P7’s, and only had one faulty light that had to be sent back for replacement!

There could be a issue if im not mistaken!
You can use a 10sp cassette on a 9sp hub by using a spacer, but im sure a 10sp only wheel wont take a 9sp cassette because its too wide!

Remember, 10sp is narrower than 9sp, you might be ok, but i wouldn’t buy new wheels to try it out on!

Getting food poisoning is one of the best performance enhancers out there!!!!

I got it last year and lasted about a week, it took me a few days for my legs to come back to life, but as i’d lost around 2kg, i was flying up every hill i came too.

Sometimes there’s an up side to feeling really crap for a few days!

I didnt want to get into this, and its probably only a small minority, but here is some video clips of what shouldn’t be happening – I

Iraq war crimes
Entire family of iraqi girl murdered by US troops
Us soldiers murder entire family to r*p* girl then k*ll girl

I guess this is what they’re protesting against!

For me, i would say its 70%-80% mental. It doesn’t matter if you’re really fit, if you are mentally fried at half way, then you’re race will probably be over.
Get a few good helpers that will be there for you, cheering you on and dealing with any problems you’ll have.

For training, i would say you should concentrate on Muscular Endurance and forget about 6-8hr runs.
There are people who do 12-24hr time-trails, who only do short hard training sessions before the races, usually around 8-15hrs a week.

I tend to do things differently from other people, if i’m doing a race like that, i would just go as hard as i can and try and keep it up!!
BUT, everyone is different and that might not work for you, but you never know until you try.
Good luck

they are shimanos so should have been bolted in.
TandemJeremy – Just hope my LBS dont try and con me. last time i only took bike in for a £10 rear mech service. £45 and new pads all round later – without consulting me either. they said pads were really worn down. they showed me the old pads and they were worn but they should have asked 1st!!

And you still use the shop after that!!!!!!!

I would find another LBS!

Dont worry about all the do’s & dont’s.

Most of it is just common sense, its just really there to help total novices, which i doubt you are.
Just pick a ride that you think is at your level and go along and see how it goes.
It you dont fancy that, then put a msg up on the message board and ask about any other runs that people are going out on.
The saturday runs are the most popular and you can sometimes get 50+ riders on one run, but if this happens then the group will get split up latter.

It can be a bit daunting at first (we’ve all be there), but after a few runs you’ll get the hang of it.
Feel free to email me if you need to, in profile

Ask on here about girlie rides.
I think we have around 90 female members, so it a good chance that some were from the club.

If you look in FAQs, you’ll get an idea of the regular mixed rides that take place.
Also, feel free to join the club if you want!

It’ll work!

I run 6-7-8 speed chains on 8 & 9sp mtb and on 9sp road bike, never had any problems.

KMC chains from Parker Int for £3 nice and cheap.

If i were you, i’d shop about a bit more if thats how much extra you’re getting charged for not working!
I took up a policy with Norwich Union because they were 40-60% cheaper than other companys, which didnt like the fact that i wasnt working!!!

Try this link to the money saver site that helps you modify your job title to get cheaper insurance, while not lying, just changing the description.
