Here we got curry night in Dollar. Shameful. I did hit the local DH hard and now a 6 pack into the evening.

The MG shorty, MT DHR2 combo is excellent. You can deal with most things on the hill.

I go between a shorty and wetscream DD 27.5 on my rune V3. About 3/4 mile path climb to a 800ft trailhead that has 3 dh trails 300-400m that you would struggle to walk up right now. A good workout anyway under lockdown. I do take the Shorty DD to Ben Cleuch no issues. The wetscream can stay on for all the steep winch climb laps. I think I found the limit of the shorty last week and been loving the wetscream in steep hand cut trails that I built over lockdown.

I have a house being done up. Not staying in it as it is a building site. Another floor added etc. Lovely neighbours reporting tradesman for non essential work. Should I just call it quits for now?

I would a spend a few 100 more and look at the Banshee Frames. The Titan is excellent. It climbs and descends better than most 29ers I have owned/tried. Norco Optic, Sight, Privateer etc. Think there are some deals around. I picked up a new Rune V3 frame as well for 1600.

I love how the V3 platform pedals and also deals with a lot of hits.

I am 87kg and use DD front shorty mg and a DD rear DHR2 mt. Inserts in both. 20F/22R psi with carbon 29mm ID wheels. Drop 18F/20R for steep winter off-piste and just keep it smooth. If racing will go to 22F/25R.

I have a banshee rune v3 and an ebike. Any really steep terrain I am on the Rune V3. Just on ride feel and descending performance in steep terrain. Do not think it climbs too bad.
Ebike I use for long trips into the hills once a week. Go far explore etc. My ebike could replace my rune as it has similar geo/travel etc but I like having my enduro sled around. I make sure I do one big climb and downhill on it once a week at least for maintenance. So ride twice a week minimum. Mix it up.

I climbed my banshee rune v3 faster than my 125mm norco optic to Ben Cleuch. Pretty stumped. Maybe all the food!

I fitted this to my cotic roadrat. No issues 2 years. Even with the external routing, it is pretty easy to secure out of the way.

I have been through the Ebike thing. Just did not feel right on them. Yes Ben Cleuch in 45 mins was nice but just never got along with them in steep terrain up and down the country. Like the rawness and simplicity of mtb.

It was all going so well. Then the Christmas beer stock arrived.

Mine was great for a few months until it was Stolen. PRs up and down through the Tweed Valley. On long all day proper mountain rides I would get a bit beat up and wish I had the Sight instead.

So we will be doing this well into the summer. I need to sell the hatch and get a van build going.

What gets me going on most estates if you walk them. Most nearby woods will conceal game traps, even birds of prey traps. Usually find bins with fox, hare, birds of prey remains. Wingshooting. What a dumbass sport. I hope they use lead free ammo. They should breed boar and you should hunt by spear.
