Its a good point that brassneck, how small can you get 26″ wheel frames though? Is it 14″? Would be much easier to upgrade parts in the long run and I may have a few spare bits myself already. Bit concerned about him handling the bike though early on, could be that I take him to halfords and get him to sit on one maybe.

Thanks for the offer of the Islabike Matt but a little out of my price range, great deal though cheers.

Would like a better picture of that Hotrock if possible please takisaw, what frame size is it? Whereabouts are you?

Could maybe be interested Alan thanks. Email in profile, don’t spend too much time cleaning it though pal, i’m more concerned about condition. I’m near Warrington so not too far away.

Wow, cheers for that jonathan. Seen some of those already on ebay but a couple I hadnt spotted and are within driving distance too. That red specialised looks immaculate!

Ive had a look 2nd hand but not turned anything up yet. I agree about Giant and Kona and would rather get a 2nd hand one of these than the decathlon option but so will continue to hunt around.

I would say he’s average strength wise. He wouldnt be looking at getting into in seriously yet, just some xc rides with me (delamere forest, rivi pike and canal paths etc) so I was thinking just a hardtail with probably v brakes. Not too concerned about the gearing but wanted it as light as possible. The decathlon one is a steel frame so not sure how it would be weight wise. Ill have a look for the frog bikes if you recommend them, cheers.

I know what you’re saying Nick but the problem is we have some part timers who do Monday and some who don’t, seems there is no fair way to satisfy them all

    leythervegas

currently the staff who do 4 days get 24 days per year and 8 of those are bank holidays (when we are closed)

The ones that don’t work a Monday are arguing that they should get a day in lieu for every bank holiday Monday. The ones that work a Monday (and therefore get bank holiday Monday’s took out of their 8 days) are arguing that they will get less days than the others. Who’s right and what system works in a situation like this? Me or my boss can’t get our head round it.

Looking at Costa brava or similar. Thought that would be cheaper flight wise as its closer. Hoping to pay around £2500 at the most for a week all inclusive. Theres a few on onthebeach at that price but i’m after more choice.

    These look good…

but these are better and look superb..

however neither are what you asked for as they are photochromic but will be clear at night and tinted the brighter it gets. i use photochromic through the winter as the sun is lower so gets in my eyes more than summer so this is the perfect solution.

Think I agree with you both. May have to consider 2nd hand. There’s a few on eBay tbat look good. Can always up grade bits as he gets into it if we start with at least a decent frame.

Think I will give the system a go with one of these…

Seem to get good reviews and they look ok. I have an android phone and they apparently link up well with their own app or myfitnesspal.

……not bothered about the heart rate monitor, just want one that connects to the app.

Yes, this is a good thing. Some lovely photos and nice bikes. Very inspirational! Is there a way to link my account to strava?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but has anyone tried this system on Crossrides? What else apart from the tape do you need for the conversion and what tyres do you recommend for a 27.5 wheel full suspension setup?

My inbred ss rigid. Have since replaced the weird swept back bars to some easton havens. Great little bike for my wet commutes.

    At last! Love my Inbreds.

Heres my singlespeed. Have since replaced the saddle with a black bignose. Setup is rigid, 32×16. Cost me next to nothing to build and is ideal low maintenance carefree commuting.

I’ve got Trail and they are great for both. I manage an opticians and we sell a lot of Oakley and the trail seems more popular. Try and download the free Oakley ‘mad science’ app on iphone or android. It shows the vision you’ll get through both lenses.

Now to find some gas. not sure of the process though. In the shop you buy a canister for £40 then buy a fill of gas for £27. Seemed steep so went online and gasdeals do a medium sized canister for £25 including gas but not sure if it will fit or are they universal fitting?

Got a bargain in the end I think. Went to The Range in Warrington and saw this for £149 down from £300. Got another £15 off as there’s a small dent in the back bottom panel. Came with cover, bbq set, regulator and pipe. There’s one left there if anyone else is looking for one. Seems very good quality.

2nd here for Greenwood forest park, brilliant little theme park with a ‘green’ theme.

We have a winner! Thats exactly what I did P-Jay. Called him a little sh*t and said something along the lines of ‘its d***heads like you that are making this town a s**thole’ and by the time I’d finished my little rant/hissy fit I was safely 20 yard past him. He looked a bit shocked and his girlfriend laughed at him (or maybe me, not sure).

Hmm, may be worth me considering just lighter tyres and tubes if theres not a great saving to be made.
