Yes thats the one. Nowhere for the end part to screw on to. I think there is a piece missing from the hub.

Well I spoke to Merlin (no luck) and Ed at Superstar who was very helpful. I need a rear wheel with a xd driver to fit my Sram 1×11 cassette. He suggested a couple of places but apparently they are hard to come by. Anyone got any advice?

Need to ask them which convertor set i need to make them fit my bfe need 135×10 rear.

Where do i get one of these codes?

I made the switch a few weeks ago Craig and although its early days im enjoying my hardtail rides. I dont miss my canyon 140mm travel at all on the flat areas where i am. I am in your area and have done llandegla on a ht before and its just as enjoyable just have to ride it a bit differently.

Road is optimised for a mostly grey background and the trail for a green background. Try the Oakley mad science free app – it shows you how they both work.

My frame thats just gone up for sale in the classifieds would build up into a great ss.

Read your review Euro, really good write up. Love reading honest reviews like that, so much more trustworthy than most magazines.

You have nudged me towards a red Bfe pal!

That is a stunning bike Euro. Perfection.

Great advice as usual, cheers. Pissed off as was bathing in the afterglow of just converting these wheels to tubeless and mistakenly thought i was a genius.

Love the grey too, the pictures on the website don’t do it justice maybe though. Any chance of some pictures of your build jmatlock?

Yes will definitely consider second hand. Actually like the fact they dont bring out a new frame every year for the sake of it.

They currently only have the grey in large in stock so going to wait and see when they are next available in a decent colour. No indication when that will be though. Getting slightly tempted by a 45650b due to stupidly low price.

I have the RCT3 version of the Revs and they are superb. Worth the bit extra. The X-fusion Streat get middling reviews and look very cheap. The Sweep would have been better.

I love this forum, and especially threads like this.

And I love my BFe. I also loved my old Marin Rocky Ridge alu HT, but I loves my steel HT more.

Agreed. Any pics of your Bfe John?

I am a genuine steel fan now. However the frame I have is a little short for me so have decided to put it up for sale and swap my bits to a Bfe or Soul. Shame as it is a real beauty. Anyone interested let me know!)

Would be nice to see some Cotic photos to inspire me. Not sure which way to go. Love them both.

Just found a slash in my rear tyre so forced to replace it. Gone with your recommendation George – a Purgatory. Lighter and grippier according to all the reviews and feedback.

Need some advice on tyre combinations for my Onza Jackpot. Currently have slaughter 2.3 front and butcher 2.3 rear both tubeless and its perfect for my local trails. However when I go to the lakes next month to do the borrowdale bash will I die? Obviously I could do with more grip at the back but don’t want to lose how it feels to ride now. What combos are people using on rockier rides?

Thestabiliser – Well first impressions are really good, rides very nicely and feels much lighter than my Canyon especially when accelerating. Frame feels plush and confidence inspiring. Like it. Would be a real flyer as a 29er.

Did you get any luck with getting this years P7 binners or did the committee stand firm?

Some beauties there pal. Glad these are so popular, I wasn’t keen on being too “niche”.

Finally got sorted. Went for most of your advice and went steel. Mainly due to the fact I have always wanted to try one as well as seeing a bargain that I couldn’t turn down.

Its an Onza Jackpot chro-mo frame with Hope wheels, 140mm Revelations, XT brakes and Sram 1×11 gears. Think its the ideal setup for me, the Spectral I had before was brilliant but only for what it was designed for not the riding I do 95% of the time. Hope your’e right about how plush they are, got some big rides planned. Will report back.

Are the optilab lenses official Transitions lenses? I don’t think they are. On the website it says photochromic. Be careful with Transitions copies as if they are similar to the specsavers equivalent I have found they don’t go as dark and are very slow to go from dark back to light. Also they have a shorter life and you may find after a year they don’t react at all.

The technology and research that goes into an Oakley lens (as well as the materials used) are very different to lenses in lower costed glasses. Its the same old you get what you pay for thing. Doesn’t mean the budget glasses won’t work for you at all though. If I didn’t work in optics and hadn’t been trained on the benefits of oakleys I would probably consider them myself. They look really good.

The optical quality with Oakleys is streets ahead of the budget alternatives. The new prizm lenses are amazing especially the trail lens. That said the prescription range is limited especially if you are long sighted but if you can get them then they will last you for years if looked after.

This app is great – gives you a good idea of the vision you will get with a trail or road lens…

I sell loads of prism lenses where I work and the feedback I get is always positive. That said I am happy with my oakley transitions – best all year round all rounder if you know what I mean. Can even commute home in the dark in the winter without fannying around swapping lenses.

Cheers for that. Looking at prices of the bearings I may as well get a whole new one maybe? Do all tapered ones fit all tapered frames? This is an internal tapered whatever that means.

Wouldn’t mind you hazarding a guess mate, need to order something today and not got my bike with me to look at the current bearings

What frame size have you got? I am 6ft 2 with inside leg 33″ and been recommended a large in the TR. Sound about right?

    Some good looking bikes there.

Muttley109 how are you finding the x-fusion forks? I think I will be going for the revelation upgrade but interested to hear how they ride?
