Thinking of going for a Frontier as my do it all hardtail to pair with my 100mm Sids. I don’t ride anythng gnarly nowadays so looking for a xc-ish bike that can do the odd red run at Llandegla/Whinlatter and do my wdaily work commute. Any more experiences/reviews/pictures?

I’ve got the exact same symptoms. When I’m in work put 1 earbud in with radio/music/podcast/any old shite on and it drowns it out while allowing me to hear what else is going on around me. Apparently ear wax removal can help so I’m going to try that soon.

Lovely build that. Doesn’t a good hardtail look miles better than any full suss?

My kids are 8. 15 and 19 and all very tall so space is important. Will take a look at the Superb as an alternative to the Passat, cheers.

I don’t think they ever will though. Prices never come down on anything nowadays.

I’m 6ft 2 and have the longer and it’s perfect. It’s tricky to say what you should go for. If you are in the Wigan area you are welcome to try mine for size?

Brilliant bike by the way, you will love it.

I’ve had a Pipedream Moxie for a few months now and can highly recommend it. Used to have a Cotic Solarismax which was also excellent so either of these would be a good shout. If you want good customer service you won’t get let down by Cotic, they go above and beyond for you.

Those new Bird steel hardtails do look lovely too though….

Sounds great. What colour have you got? The Race that is coming in stock soon is a purple colour that is hard to judge on stock pictures.

Thanks, yeah I’ve looked at the big Al but the spec is much lower which is a shame as I’d like a cheaper option as already stretching my budget.

Had mine set up with Fox Rhythm 140, Hunt trailwide 29″ wheels and Sram eagle gearing. Running tubeless Maxxis Ardent 2.3 front and rear and they feel like a great all round combo though I would maybe like to try something a little faster rolling on the rear when the weather allows. Recently considered changing my frame to a short travel full suspension but going to try this for a while longer and see how it goes.

The no mow area is a great idea, just leave it and see what grows. We put ours under the bird feeder so all the seeds fall there and you can get loads of wild flowers. Great hiding place for frogs, newts and other pond beasties too.

Hmm, yes not the best angle that. Maybe it just felt like 4m when I was digging it out! Heres a better angle….

Heres our pond that we made last month. Only 4m x 2m but we hope to attract a decent variety of wildlife. Already had the birds having a bath and a drink and got a few little beasties swimming around.

I will keep an eye out for a Pinnacle. He likes On One, Giant, Cotic, Specialised and Trek but I should be able to talk him into other makes. The fussy little sod.

Was thinking some Pikes would perform better but not sure by how much? Had them before and they did feel plusher than the Rhythms.

It does look very long, doesn’t feel it though when riding.

Thinking of upgrading my forks from these Rhythms for no other reason that I’ve seen some good offers and I have bit of spare cash.

I have just found an Old Trafford stadium tour that looks quite good, may book him on that. The player message idea could be good, bit of a longshot but great if it came off.

Massive Man Utd fan, loves films, loves his x box. Typical, slightly nerdy 17 year old. Not even remotely interested in biking. (or drugs, booze and hookers but its early days)

Not many greenfinches about nowadays are there? Very sad, used to be everywhere. That nasty disease pretty much wiped them out I think.

Here’s my R1. Liking it very much so far after a few short rides. Upgraded the tyres to something I can go off road with and abetter seat for my fat arse.

I’m looking at that planet X too. Looks like great value, bit concerned about it being more CX/road than gravel bike with my lower back issues though.

    This too…

I am 6ft 2 and went for the XL.

I am wondering whether I should have gone for a slightly more road focused bike though as this is seeming a bit too close to my 29er steel hardtail. I dont want to ride it till I’m sure as may send it back. Maybe thinner tyres would help but not sure on sizes with these wheels. (Which are really nice by the way for a bike at this price)

    On One Bootzipper

My Bootzipper arrived today. I like it, although I haven’t ridden it yet. It’s for commuting and gravel riding.

Just placed an order on one of these for the price of a couple of cups of Costa coffee per week (that’s how I justified buying a bike I dont really need anyway). Upgraded the brakes to BB7 as seem like they get much better reviews from those that can stomach cable disc brakes and only an extra £40. Going to try the stock tyres but want it to be more of a road biased gravel bike commuter thing so nay look at some faster tyres later. Not sure of the alex rims wheelset is tubeless (Brant?) Anyone got any pictures of theirs that i can look at till mine arrives?

I’m close to going for one of these too. The one thing holding me back are the Avid brakes.
