I don’t have my headphones on. I put my iPhone on with map my ride and turn the music on and have the music blaring out. That way I can still hear what’s going on around me and have the music in the background rather than headphones

hd biger tyres on it and the front derraileur cable was just touching the tyre, which i think you could just about get away with in dry weather, but when its muddy i reckon it would be a lot more of a problem. you can still put a bigger tyre on the front

    thanks Dan ;-)
i have 3 other bikes and i have measured all the positions
    seat to middle of bars
    seat to pedal
    fork height off of floor
    saddle height off the floor
all measurements are more or less the same

    it just “feels” big
it weighs the same as my ibis mojo so isnt unduly heavy, the bottom bracket is similar to the mojo.
i cant put my finger on why, it just feels big,

yes they are threaded at the hub, but loose at the rim end without a nipple.
where they are threaded through the hub is where they MUST use linseed oil otherwise they cannot be unscrewed, and its near impossible to drill and still keep the thread.
they were damaged in the post and snapped flush at the hub so there is no end piece to get a pair of pliers or molegrips on.
my thinking was, if they cannot be repaired, use them until they were unrideable, as long as its reasonably safe to do so, and then have a wheel rebuild,

    Lester

its a 32 spoke mountain bike wheel

the thing is, apparently,if these wheels arent built properly unless they use linseed oil when they screw the spokes in, if not they are rendered useless and they need to be thrown away if anything goes wrong, not even sure if the hub is salvageable :-(
so im looking at worse case options

if you build yourself it takes ages to get the parts you want for the right price, you either spend more than you intended or wait longer than you intended.
i would buy second hand and then swap out as and when what i wanted becaame available and then appreciate the difference.
There is however a lot be said to taking ages and the reward when its finally done, i suggest buying in the winter getting ready for the spring

I’m 6ft and have a large 456 evo, the first hard tail I have ever enjoyed. It’s pretty nimble, good on the climbs and not too much of a bone shaker. I sold it and bought the fireline 29er ti but realized I missed the 456 evo so I bought it back. I now have both if you want to try them pm me. I’m not sure if I will keep both in the long run but can’t bear to think of getting rid of either

    buy an ibis mojo hd
you then get the choice to run it as 160 or 140 by swapping the rear shock
you can just about get away with running a 150 fork, which is a small compromise but makes the swaps quick and easy.
mine weighs 291b in 160 mode and is possibly enough for all you need

I absolutely know what you mean, if I can’t tell the difference and so able to choose, what does it matter. But it’s a bit more complicated than that.
I have 4 built bikes and 2 spare frames
I want to keep 3 bikes and sell 3.
    I have 4 full suss one is a 29er
I have 2 titanium hard tails one is a 29er. To cover all bases from what I have, what do I sell?
    I want
    A 29er ( I can have a 29 er full suss or hard tail)
    I want a titanium bike ( I have 3 ti options one is a full suss )
I’ve narrowed it down to selling one of the bikes in the title and still having the choice of
Full suss 29er and on one 456 hard tail and full suss 26ers
Fireline 29er and keep my two full suss bikes.
It’s not that I can’t tell the difference it just makes sense to make up my mind quickly as it’s doing my head in, but I need help.
And also the 456 has a 10 year guarantee and the fireline 2 year guarantee. I can’t fault either of them

Yes a different bike, but I also have a mojo hd 160 and that weighs 29lbs but starts off with a slightly lighter frame. The hd is probably be a better comparison but I reckon if I swap my bits over it would be close to 26lb and still be more of a comparative bike.
I think I save on the shock, the cranks and the wheels and tyres so it can be done .
What I would say is when I get on the non hd mojo after being on the hd it seems much more sprightly and nimble and willing but not at all flimsy or less tough, and I weigh 15 stone. Every week I think I should sell one but I just can’t do it.
I enjoy the weight of the hd and the lightness of the other one equally as much

just slide your one on top? or be carful prising the old one off, it comes off easy after you have loosened it a bit, but its easy to chip the paint work

i am more than happy when i send and recieve with parcelforce, its always the same guy and he is very helpful and friendly.

    receiving
i like the way dpd send a text telling you when its coming and giving some options to change which you can respond to by text
and then on the day of arrival they tect you and give you a one hour window.

i also have deliveries by Yodel and i am really happy with them.

UPS can be awkward to deal with at customer service .

but generally i think all the parcel companies have upped their game considerably .

if i had to choose who to send with it would be parcelforce every time they give you some times for you to choose when they collect and they bring the labels.

i have a grand cherokee 2001 and i dont think its the most user friendly for bikes
you have to take the head rests off to get the rear seats to fold flat
and then take the load cover off
the seats are slightly raised and its difficult to get the bike in flat without bending forward, (watch your back) or keep shuffling between the rear and the back doors. its not a big issue its just not a no faff procedure
i dont have to take any wheels off the bike to put mine in

    Hi Mike
i used to go to Perth every other year, i would take a helmet and buy a second hand road bike whch i would donate to the church when i left ( in laws ran their own church!)
    i stayed in Morley.
i would cycle towards the coast and get as far as i could and then struggle back. i tried to go further each day than i did the day before and it was great when i reached the coast execpt i went onto a dog beach by accident :-)
but i loved Perth although i found the road surface rarely smooth
