i dont think any of the cyclists were actually doing much wrong, but the amount of cyclists doing different things at any one time was disconcerting and collectively it was so haphazard and chaotic.
im not slagging off cyclists at all, just saying how i saw it

i thought anything thrown out was fair game, which is why its ok for detectives, apparently, to go through your trash.

not a negative from me, not even a neutral yet. i would wait to see how he resolved the issue before i considered any feedback
i think genuine sellers get a bum deal these days and i would not want to penalise them any more.

as a non fit biker. Unless you are going to “WIN” surely the only thing that matters is that you improve regularly and keep improving and most of the time enjoy your riding.
if you are 5 seconds quicker every week and enjoy your riding isnt that better than not getting as close to the guy in front as you want and being disappointed.
if you want to be able to get closer to the guy in front, surely it then only matters what level that guy is ?
this might sound gobledegook but it makes sense to me :-)

I bought a carbon rockstar from On- One at xmas, wrong size came although Brant and Gareth both said they will sort it out, tried to buy a reverb which didnt arrive after two weeks.after ringing On-One i finally got the reverb and then realised that on the carbon frames you need a special seat collar, apparently you are lucky if one comes with the bike, strange considering the frame is a shape that doesnt take an ordinary headset.
i ordered a seat clamp yesterdy for £10 from on one, will let you know when it arrives.

what i think is even unfairer is that most of us were helpfully defensive of On One as we understood and grudgingly accepted the teething problems. Especially when Brant comes along sometimes and says he will sort it, not that he did in my case.
But us buyers who have been supportive and actually do some buying get let down so easily because they have not got enough quality staff in sales.
i jokingly offered Brant my services as a sales director at £65k, he said that he already had a very good sales drector in place and he earned substantially more than that.
so we should consider ourselves lucky that Planet X have somebody good in place, because could you imagine the mayhem if they didnt

planet X sent me a bike frame which cost £800, Yodel left it on the FRONT doorstep, it been opened and NOT signed for with a note saying it had been left in the safe place as requested

they told me i had 3 accounts, as i had used 3 delivery addresses over xmas, mine, work and the girlfriends.
this is probably one of the reason things go wrong. instead of your name being the account its tour address.
8 out of 10 of my parcels turned up on time, each of them had a tracking number.
one, Yodel left a brand new £800 frame in an opened !!! box outside the front door UNSIGNED, with a note saying that it had been left in a safe place, luckily im honest or i could have said it hadnt arrived.

    Ouch. Why?

sorry for being controversial but im not prepared to say on the forum. Just that i wont be.
i had another look and ive spent nearer £7,000 with them in the last year, its not always been smooth, but until my recent order of a rockstar it had always been rectified satisfactorily.
i think although it is an “on lone” store and very good value, they dont notice or recognise a good customer, especially as the order history on your account is kept up to date.
i reckon i have had about 20 orders with them in the last 14 months

yes Annecy is expensive so i wouldnt stay there, i would go somehwere like Grand bornand or there are a couple of other little villages where i reckon its cheaper, the thing is driving in that scenery is exhilerating too so i wouldnt mind staying 20 mins away from the activities

when i ding a rim :-)i will cross that bridge when i come to it, the hub would still be alright so i suppose i could buy a different unstickered rim, and i take your point about the original spokes, but are we saying that i couldnt find a replacement spoke elsewhere?
i know it can and often does happen, but i havent damaged a wheel or broken a spoke yet, yet lol

The pick up speed doesnt make any difference at all to my style of riding either, but it certainly adds to the experience for me. Can i ask why you added the upgrade to your dt24os if you couldnt see a reason for it?

its still a factor, and different people find different factors more important.
i personally would rather have a wheelset that had better pick up even if it didnt last as long as a different wheelset.
im not fussed about customer service from the manufacturer as you have the retailer as the first port of call if there is a failing.
i change my bikes quicker than the wheels wear out anyway, although my mojo has had industry nine enduro wheels for 5 years, none of the spokes are loose and the wheels are still true, and i am 16 stone kitted out, and i would never sell them

    Lester

a factor to take into account is the pick up of rear hub.
i have some industry nine wheels and the pick up is instant. i have just bought some Fulcrum xl and the pick up is quite good, im not sure how good it is on the superstars, but its still a factor for me

its all quiet on the On One front:-(

unfortunately it wasn`t done, even though Gareth said that he would sort it out for me and i waited an extra week :-(( my MEDIUM rockstar arrived today. i have everything else, new wheels, reverb, new forks, new cranks, new brakes, new pedals but now i have to send it back for the Large.
Brant, would you find it acceptable for me to build the medium up and if it doesnt fit exchange it for a large.
    a very gutted Lester

I’m sorry. Clearly disappointing. I have referred your issue to our Head of Sales for direction.

Brant you must be losing your touch,
nothing happened here either, shall i build the medium and possibly swap if it is too small, or wait for ( i dont know how long) for head of sales to ring me?

ive got a mojo hd setup with 160 rear shock monarch plus
and ive also got an older mojo in naked carbon, setup 3lbs lighter.
they both have 150mm dt swiss forks.
the hd has 2.35 tyres and feels burly and takes my weight comfortably 15stone plus kit
whereas when i get on the older one it feels like a rocket.
so i would definitely say there is a difference and yes it is worth it, it really is like having 2 bikes, keep it at 140 most of the time and just a 15min job to put change the limbo chips back for the chunkier stuff

    i dont understand
the chainstay is only half inch longer on the rockstar than the ibis ripley and the santa cruz tall boy which are both 17.5
and i less understand about the fireline at 17.1 inch chain stay is nearly half inch shorter
what full suss 29er have you got that has shorter chainstays? and what length are the chainstays
