Haven’t you watched them? Any of them? If you have, you must have an idea of which one would suit your child?

In a word no. I dabbled for a bit but haven’t gone back to them

We are back on as of yesterday afternoon, it’s taken a bit of time but ENWL have been pretty good with comms and making sure hot food was available after a bit of a slow start.

It’s been lively for a bit round this manor. Only just got online as we’ve finally relented and moved into the Swan at newby bridge.
Should be back on temp power Friday afternoon. It’s been a mess. 40 trees fallen on the Lane to our place. That takes a bit of clearing.

Still it’ll be sorted soon enough.

We bought a couple of refurb ones from the charity in Kendal that gets people back in work. Decent stuff and a sensible price.

@chakaping we have an 8yr old. Getting lots of mileage out of the PS3 games available in CEX at pocket money prices.

At this point f1 2012 and gt5 are getting lots of action, oh and farming simulator.

I’m sure the latest and greatest are better but getting on for 50quid a throw for each game means a bit more consideration than getting 20 quids worth in CEX of stuff that might be cool.

Is that not how it works? You buy stuff, they bring it you and drop it off in the house.
Most of our deliverers do this, but the Hermes lady won’t cross the drawbridge.

I’ve recently discovered the bury black pudding with chilli. It’s not traditional, but it’s damn good.
Best local one? That’s higginsons of grange…

It’s not been to bad today, certainly not at storm Desmond levels, but we are in the same manor.

Hopefully we can get 24hrs of reprieve if not then the water levels could be getting a touch high.

It’s been lobbing it down in the south lakes today. Current reprieve for a bit at the moment. We’ll see what tomorrow brings

E class estate. Biggest diesel that fits, get one that someone’s optioned up.

If not an E class then a CLS.

You’ll need something that you arrive fresh in. Big comfy and quick.

Has roof tent. Needs other tent to store the stuff in.

Fair comment, ours is on top of a T2 Camper. It’s hardly practical to start with but it means we can have two double beds and a lounge and kitchen as soon as we park up.
If not then the kiddie bunk takes the lounge / kitchen space and everyone goes to bed at 8:30
Putting bijouspud in the penthouse means we can read / drink / chatter much later.

utterly stupid things in the UK

Why? It’s faster to erect than an awning? It takes up less space, and it provides a shelter to the side of the van.
It also pleases my inner 8yr old and my actual 8yr old.

Saw some these in Scotland recently, our main question- do you have to be short to fit in them?

Not especially ours has a base that’s 3m * 1.4m or so. Plenty of space for two people and about 4ft of sitting space. 4” mattress all the way throughout

I might be in the minority here as the owner of one.
We have a transporter, with the little man getting bigger the addition of a penthouse makes a difference.

It’s also like having a portable treehouse. Things can be fun they don’t have to be ultra practical.

It’s a matter for the courts. I don’t see that she presents any risk to your wife or you. Nor are you facilitating and further risk by using her services.

She’s been found guilty and she’s taken the consequence. It’s not your place to add to that. That’s just pitchforks.

You never done owt you regret? Or reacted badly when called out on it? I’m no a religious chap but that stuff about he who is without sin cast the first stone and all that seems to fit here.

I don’t remember it being particularly expensive when we took ours out and refitted with the thermal store. A days work or so, so £250 up north. No ideas down south.

Move it like an Egyptian. Broom handles for rollers. Bangles songs optional

Thankyou for writing that, it’s just taken me back to carrying a little box with my mum to a wild spot.

I’m smiling as I think of her and that last trip, I hope that you will feel the same in time for these last adventures.

The 2.4 20v diesel is a good motor. Lost of character and not short on grunt. I had it in a late 156.

Current squeeze is a 159 with the 1750 TBI motor. It replaced the 3.2v6 in the range, so don’t expect the fuel economy of a 1.7l it’s running about 26psi of boost :-)

    lesgrandepotato

The later models 159’s etc are pretty decently screwed together. They do have the odd foible but by one that’s been maintained by a specialist who knows them and owned by an enthusiast and you’ll be fine.
I paid 8k for my 159 TI TBi 3 yrs back, it’s still worth a solid 6k. It’s cheap motoring.

It’s the cars that worry me. Possibly without justification. But the fact that every time we go shopping or to school or whatever we take a tonne and a half of metal with us seems very wasteful.

Why are EV’s so big? Why do they have motors to close the boot? Don’t we need smaller economical older longer living cars?

I drive a 12yr old car. Is this a better choice than a new EV? How do we find out?

You need a Weber Smokey Mountain for low and low, a kettle for your regular stuff chicken thighs, burgers etc.

I sold mine to a man in the pub. Can you negotiate? If so, crack on see if your get any action, if not then take it to an agent.
