You need a lowering kit for the vee dub. If not it’ll just dissolve by itself on the drive.

17 years. That’s enough time to have derailed enough projects to be able to sort some out. So a PM role might work. How’s your customer facing skills? BA?

We are just at the planning stage after a similar project.
We’ve spent about 4k or so. That’s about a grand to measure up the existing, then about 1500 for concept design, we did this based upon an open brief of outcomes and spaces as opposed to ‘I’ve drawn this for you to draw up’ then about 1500 again for the building regs drawings.

That seemed to be about standard from our quotes, and that’s for a major transformation project not just a pokey wee extension.

Give the elderly care support line guys a call at Bupa. They’ll give you some impartial advice and guidance.

Disclaimer: I work for Bupa, the care help line deals with both Bupa care and non Bupa care. They are a great team and can help.

Call the BUPA care services line, they offer plenty of advice and assistance whether you are looking at a BUPA home or other.

Cash helps, being proceedable (i.e. not in a chain helps),
Not being a dick helps, people like to deal with people.

All of these things help to get the deal you want, needs to be win win, not out and out combat :-)

I kind of imagine (rightly or wrongly) that as he had some 60 odd ft of land at the end of the garden before the river then he probably wasn’t banking on a major land re-inforcement project this year.

I’d also be surprised if he had 100k just lying about, there’s a difference between wealth and available liquid cash.

Theres a lot of spite on this thread, I trust you know that flood affected properties in Cumbria can get a 500 grant to make a start on repairs?

Yep from me, but start small. Our little lad 2&3/4 loves them either solo ( for small stuff ) or on mum for big stuff.

Is it not still valid to ask for opinion and views on how to manage your finances when the numbers become larger?

Yes they have lots of options, but they still need to choose.

I worked for a bloke who lived in a castle once. He used to make financial decisions too.

Don’t see the issue really, they are making good money, good luck to them.

He’s going from Basingstoke to Reading and you’re suggesting somewhere between Basingstoke and Newbury? It’s not exactly on the way.

This is at least partially true. But it is a fine breakfast and its not far off piste. Its ten mins up the road from the Stoke.

When you run it, its under your context and login access, when you’ve deployed it, its under the context of your Service account.

Perhaps (assuming you have access to..) log in as the service account and let it run to help debug..

Somewhat off topic, hows that double height space to live with? Just working through the designs for our new place and have something similar is it awesome or a giant cold echo chamber?

This is a good idea, obviously do some sanity checking for flood risk, but its a wonderful thing.

We are just in the process of upgrading from a stream to a waterfall. The sound when you get home just washes the stress away. Can’t recommend it enough.

There will be creatures. They live in the river, in my experience they don’t come in doors. If you are lucky there will be bats too :-)

I don’t quite understand this, there are six houses with a Smiddy behind. The boundaries are re-jigged, and the houses sold.

End of? Is the problem that now something will be built on the land behind that isn’t owned by the houses?
Or that the house used to have a bigger garden and now doesn’t?

All sounds sensible to me. I’d let off a couple of rounds with the shotgun and leave the shells in the porch so they have a nice fresh smell.

We did this recently, bought a place and beat the cash buyer. The thing to consider is that buying and selling houses is an emotive process for most people. We were purchasing a project. We made sure that when we engaged with the seller (albeit via the estate agent) we made sure that they knew it was for us to make a family home, not just a quick buck and that we would be attentive and quick to get the deal done.

Worked for us a developer wanted the house to split in two we got it for an equivalent offer for being the right people for the house…
