I’m not getting good vibes on this one so far. I’m not sure he’s got the right reasons for doing this or the capabilities to execute on it.

There are some nice enough trails in tbe cartmel valley. Grab the train to Cark and explore. It’s about a 10min train ride

Just don’t fret about it. Get it hot once in a while but don’t overthink it.

Most tyre places will have a fix it box of spare valve bodies. It’s a tyre off job.

    Maybe £30 or so

Maybe light the fire? That’ll draw the air through it like when it was built

Can you not connect a hose to a tap and save burning fossil fuels and destroying the planet? Or, use an electric pump that will be less harmful to the planet?

I think a bit of balance is needed here. These old machines exist, they may as well be used… I can’t imagine he’s trying to shift that much water.

I’m not sure the argument of using potable water instead with a hose is greener.

Hmm. Not sure on the no hands. My Topstone with a gravel lefty definitely has a left bias no hands.

i can see that a heavier wheel and wider bars would give it a bit more stability.

It’s only 30mm on the Topstone but it’s bloody ace.

Don’t overthink it. I wouldn’t change the oil or anything.

Couple of batteries, spin it over to get oil pressure. Easy start.

What’s the plan to move it?

Love it. Upgraded to the carbon lefty a year back. Bloody great bit of kit.

They do come up big in sizing, it’s a big bike but it fits like a glove underway.

Mine is the Sram apex stuff. Mebbe 11spd. It’s fine, nothing to write home about but it does work.

We’ve just gone Starlink. Offer on the hardware so that was £150. £75 a month. But the phone line and broad band was most of that already.
Probably a net £20 a month uplift but it seems solid so far

Once you have it drawn chuck it up. Might be a print job or a cut job. My CNC machine is only 2.5 D so deeply complex shapes are tricky.

Ok. Had a look at the piccie. I’d be inclined to start with a tube of JB weld. Failing that it looks easily enough made if you can sort out model of it.

Is the back face flat? I’ve just got me a cnc milling machine…

It’s only the first couple of threads. The next 4 or5 will have held it fine in my view.

Shove a taper punch in the back and the bolt into the front. Leather the bolt as needed to made it through.
Don’t do it on the ground. You’ll not drag a tyre over the ground. Needs to be in the air

Well the naproxen has hit the spot. Foot no longer cramped into a claw and more of a 3 out of 10 compared to previous.
Still limping but I reckon proper walking will be in scope for the weekend.

Im a bit of a beer monster so looks like some changes are on the horizon. Seems low alcohol beer isn’t great either.
What’s the go to long drink for a former beer drinker? Like a treat. I’m familiar with pop and water :-)

Decent drill bits and a dewalt for me. It’s getting tired now but it’s taken a remarkable amount of an abuse. 1/2” drills through 12mm plate and large holesaws.

Battery pack size doesn’t seem to make much odds. I have a large an a little most of the time it’s not a thing.

Mine is IKEA with custom oak details. The units are pretty cheap with a long warranty. Bit of oak section to detail it and it looks good without costing much.

Secondhand granite is cheap if you can work it and move it.

Clarke, SIP. Whatever machine mart are selling.
Some will guide you away from gas less. It works for me as an occasional welder.
General consensus is a big machine turned down welds better.
    I’ve done a lot with a Clarke 105 turbo.

Final thought, welding metal is easy. Rust, mud, DNA, underseal less so. Prep is key.

Couple of pairs of hop ups or step ladders and just walk it on. I’ve put ours on the jeep. Jimny and type 2 this way.

They only weigh 30-50kg just lift and walk it up.

It’s doing you good. It’ll take time and don’t go to mad at it. In a months time or so you’ll be breezing it. Then on to bigger and other stuff.

Don’t just drill the head off. You need to deal with the shaft as well. Drill that down with a drill just smaller than the threads and peel the remnants out
