I remember watching the first series and being excited about the prospect that you could do reasonably well with a standard rc car wearing a biscuit tin… Then the second series came and brought dedicated machines made from mobility scooters and road signs and it never seemed quite as accessible!

Depends if you have to fight someone or something!

Even then, I’d wager Ray’s Judo would prove more effective than Bear’s whatever…
Did I mention I have a massive man crush for Ray Mears??

You’d have to use a lookup field or assign a hitter score…
But once you’ve done that, it would be easy

Been looking at them for a while, and then the bike club sent me a 20% discount code, so it seemed a shame not to!

I thought the first rule of Settlement Agreement Club, was that you didn’t mention Settlement Agreement Club???

Redundancy is the usual codeword isn’t it?

Usually get a few bottles including a bottle of scotch, but after getting my collar felt a couple of years ago*, every single item of promotional merchandise (even wall calendars) goes in the office raffle. This year has been quiet so far though.

*nearly sent down the road as one of my team accused me of accepting cash bribes from a supplier who worked closely with the whole team got each member a box of beer. Not entirely sure how he came to that decision, but it caused me a lovely four week Xmas break of worry whilst hr tried to pin something on me…

I suspect the horse has bolted for that particular idea given that most bikes in the peloton now have two perfectly legal motors on them…

Working through till xmas eve prepping for a major machine overhaul beginning on 28th, will hopefully be completed for an early site secure and pint with the team just after dinnertime…
Then I get the weekend off and work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday on 12hr days with the possibility of Thursday if anything goes tits up. Plant restarts on the Saturday and I’ll be on call.

From what I’ve heard (I’m an industrial spark, not domestic – so not directly involved with any of them) they are gathering the bottom end of the market by offering lower membership fees and having lower entry requirements in addition to fewer verification activities.
Your install certainly seems to validate that opinion!

The electrcians website has an ELECSA logo on it

Not surprised from what I’ve heard of ELECSA…

I posted about this when it happened last year…
Definitely seemed to be a deliberate act given the positioning of the incident…

Has that been done by a kitchen fitter or a bloke from the pub?
I very much doubt he’ll be getting an EICR with that install…

If by some chance the installer is a member of NICEIC, NAPIT or more likely ELECSA there are complaint lines you can call to report the work.

I scanned a stack about two feet tall of DVDs at the weekend, mostly (in my opinion) classics rather than just random films – I was offered just shy of £10, included in that was £3 odd for the two Phoenix nights DVDs…
My LCS (Local Charity Shop) will be getting a donation instead.

Wheelbase would only be the same if they brought the BB forward and left massive toe overlap on the front which in reality they won’t have…

I’d expect 3″ longer wheelbase and 6″ overall not taking into account different head angle to adjust for trail etc…

Can someone with a bit of airframe knowledge explain to me why it had to be let off it’s jacks quite so carefully? Presumably it would take a fair bit of force through the landing gear on a difficult landing, so why the care from 18″ in a nice warm hanger?

My assumption was that if it slid off the jacks, the jack head would make a lovely additional air intake for the engines, but on the underside of the wing!
Hence, not so much gently – but level, which also fits in with the plumbob and datum plate…

The very first time (we didn’t meet):
A group of us were all stood in the works canteen checking out applicants for the new quality position from behind the mirrored glass, scores may have been involved… She was set on and started a month before Xmas.

    The first introduction:
I was covered in Cocoa liquor due to being part way through changing a pump, I had called through to the office to give a progress report to the production manager as she was being shown around the office… Fairly standard stuff really.

    When I noticed her:
The Xmas do… She was sat at another table but I kept catching glimpses of her giggling away. Was planning on heading over and having a chat after dinner, but she left straight after the meal.

    When she noticed me:
I’d been struck quite well at the Xmas do, but just afterwards ended up suspended pending investigation… I was sat at home until the end of January when my name was cleared.
On returning to work I found myself finding excuses to head to the office and sneak a gaze over the photocopier etc.
I seemed to be getting nowhere, but then in a weekly maintenance planning meeting she noticed me looking and instantly broke eye contact and didn’t regain it for the rest of the meeting. I thought I’d blown it and didn’t notice an increase in quality involvement in my work.
I hate to admit it, but use of the works IM system became less and less business based. After a Friday evening spent on Facebook chat work related conversation was completely off the cards and the following Monday we exchanged phone numbers.
At this point I was unsure what was likely to be on the cards, so kept things friendly with a little bit of blue – having been single for six years following a bad breakup I was petrified about getting involved and also with the whole work thing I didn’t want to end up with a harassment case on me…
Eventually things came to a head and we had a phone call on a Saturday morning in late March which in quite businesslike terms laid out where we both were. We met that night at her house once her daughter was in bed and the rest as they say is history.

Apparently the reason behind her shyness in the meeting was because she had seen me looking and in her words “it was like you’d shot me in the clit!” :o

I’d say you’re more likely to find damage after plastering – but then I’m a sparky and have to dig out the plaster from backboxes after the muck spreaders have finished…

Your RCD will take only 30 milliAmps to trip ;)

Clean the board again, with a toothbrush to get round all the nooks and crannies that are now holding all the grime that was evenly spread across the board.
Then stick a hairdrier or fan heater on low power into the orifice you’ve been cleaning for an hour or so…

I moved from my parents house into a 2 bed semi just over 10 years ago.
When I moved in I had a Suzuki Ignis, which needed about 6 trips to deliver all of my things.

About a year ago, I realised that even though I live alone it was starting to feel a little cramped in my house.

I use the smaller of the two bedrooms as the rear views are better, but the spare bedroom (originally intended to be a spare room to accommodate friends etc) was more or less full with the exception of a pathway to the airing cupboard.
The under stairs cupboard was home to at least eight different helmets of motorcycle and bicycle varieties, at least four different outfits for wearing whilst riding a motorcycle and several pairs of boots.

Shoe wise, I counted nearly enough to wear a different pair for every day of the month with 5 pairs of cycling specific ones.

I started having a clear out and on the first session managed to fill seven bin bags full of clothes as well as a half van load of random crap and the packaging for items which had broken out of warranty and been disposed of long ago. Old electronics got a shock too, CB sets and old mobiles saw new purpose and my ‘box of bits’ (actually half a dozen archive boxes) full of electrical components was rationalised down to one box of genuinely useful new parts with good value.

A year on, this post reminds me that I have not actually looked in my ‘box of bits’ since, so that is going on gumtree tonight!

I still need to address the one-piece race leathers (at least two sizes too small now) and shotguns that I keep because they are worth more to me than they will bring if I sell them though…

You do know you can’t buy him one as a gift don’t you, although you can supervise him using one.

Which always makes me chuckle, given you could quite lawfully (once he has a ticket*) buy him a shotgun as a gift!

On a related note, I’d like my dash cam to look through the “pattern of slightly-raied black dots”.
Anyone know a good way to remove them neatly and completely (acetone is my first guess, followed by razor blade gasket scraper)?

Does no-one here still enjoy the satisfaction of clearing a ‘nice little climb’???

I don’t know the trail but assuming it’s not on an actual bike park, where losing a little speed will mean you’re unable to clear the next obstacle, if you see someone approaching – slow down…
With a bit of extra time to react, you might see that the uphiller is knackered and will stop for a break, otherwise at slower speeds you may be able to roll through at a wider spot.

Well in that case, assuming your raise was from the 1st of November, your pay packet this month will be overtime earnt in October… hence the old rate.

I’d check this though, as if they are trying to pull a fast one you have to officially refuse to accept new terms.

If you worked it before the raise, then the payslip is right… ;)

I built one up last autumn and also have the 32×23 gearing combo for winter gloop, add to that the fact that I’m a proper fat knacker and it’s doing pretty well really.
Fair enough, I’ve not yet taken it anywhere particularly gnarly (Sherwood Pines red, which I’ve also done on a cross bike) but I’m not particularly gentle with it and the only issues I’ve had have been keeping the axle and chain tight due to my massive power!
You do get used to just stopping and being able to shift before setting off…
