You might also find that telling the glue supplier about the process you hope to achieve will select a different product to apply/cure faster.

The very easiest method would be to sit the piece tongue down and run it through a bath of adhesive before manhandling it together, clamping and storing, but that would be subject to the availability of a suitable glue.
For an interrupted glue area a roller to lift the workpiece intermittently would suffice.

I have a history of packaging machines which use hot melt glue in pellet form which can be sprayed at the workpiece, but these require a very fast (1-2seconds) make up time once glued so you would need to apply and build simultaneously.

I don’t know, but what is the dB rating on the ultrasonic jobbies?
I’d like to wager that antisocial noise regs won’t include any stipulation about frequency but will include amplitude…

Just say “hey Siri, call me Dave”

He will then reply “ok, from now on I’ll call you Dave” and you’ll be sorted across all devices

If he’s done such a shoddy job of running the cable, how good a job has he done calculating the cable and protective devices?

Has he issued a MWC to you for the install?

I went for the option of hiding one wall of windows painted white on the inside behind 100mm kingspan foam insulation, clad in with a plasterboard wall and sticking 50mm kingspan insulation clad with lightweight twinwall plastic trim designed for bathrooms on the roof.
Turned a useless space that was either too hot or cold for 75% of the year into a really nice space.
We have removed both leaves of the old patio door for a big party, but that needs to stay in to comply with regs as stated above.

I spoke to one of the warm roof types and the quote was eyewateringly expensive and still didn’t exclude the requirement to have an external door between the conservatory and dining room – although the salesman suggested that wasn’t the case.

When I was little, it was my grandad – although as I grew up and found out more, he was invalided out and lived out his days, although with god knows what mental trauma.

These days I remember what war means.
We are supposed to remember the horror and futility of war in an attempt to avoid it at all costs.

“those who forget the past are doomed to relive it.”

Unfortunately this seems to be a message that has slipped by the wayside somewhat of late.
Our local council didn’t even deem it worthwhile to close the road next to our war memorial today and although the local fire brigade took it upon themselves to try blocking the road, there were still people who forced past them.

BITD I procured a CD from eBay, full of karaoke tracks which could be played through my laptop.
They were knocked-off copies of the barfly “proper” karaoke tracks, but I can’t imagine they would be the kind of thing that a 13 year old wants to sing.

I encountered a proper loon on marketplace last week:

My in-laws are looking to downsize and move closer to us, so we’ve been keeping an eye out for bungalows in the area that might match their very exacting standards.

Up pops a very badly spelled advert for a bungalow that didn’t really describe the place too well, but the pictures of the inside looked ok so well worth trying to find out more…

I asked where it was listed as I hadn’t been able to find it on the usual property websites.
Answer – I’m just selling it on here.

Fair enough thinks I, where is the housedo you have a floor plan or any photos of the outside of the house?

No floor plan and photo 2 (a photo of a window in front of a patch of grass) is the front of the house. No mention of location.

I was trying to work out where the house was located as the description was odd and the price didn’t match up with previous sales in the area, so asked what street it was on and asked again for a picture of the house from the road.

Got ghosted for 24hrs so commented back that she perhaps ought to consider using an agent to sell to ensure prospective buyers can get the info they require…

Apparently I should have known that she wouldn’t pass out her address online! How on earth she was expecting to sell a house I don’t know.

In the interim I had actually managed to find the place on google maps and found the “heart of ‘village x’” actually meant literally the last house in the village and they would never build further than that house as the east coast mainline runs 10yds from the back door!
I assume she’d also valued the property herself too as the asking price was £100k more for the 2 bed semi than the 4 bed detached on the same road sold for last year…

Absolute garbage – I don’t know if it is the product or the fitter, but ours resulted in on average monthly visits for repairs prior to COVID. At that point the remainder slowly disassembled itself.

I treat the HP hose and Lance as an accessory and remove it after every use.
You’d be surprised how much water is in there. Removing the HP hose routinely also means that the connection stays serviceable rather than the usual solid mass that they become – remember that due to the design of the connector, it doesn’t need to be more than snug by hand.
I also break the rule on running dry, and once the hoses are off, spin the motor up for a half a second to purge the pump.
I figure that worrying about piston wear is silly if the pump housing cracks due to freezing.

Can’t we play guess the c2 coding of an ‘electrician’ whose probably doing 4-5 EICR a day!

    Unfeasably low IR value.

Misidentified cable types / poor maths.

Not to mention the obligatory poor description on the report that makes it near impossible to work out what the tester actually thought was wrong.

Although if you’ve had the place for 20 years and never had any upgrades I can think of a couple of the issues that might have been raised.

I used to use a different image for a different service and they were doing something that had data flowing in. When I rebuilt, I used my notes which included that old port.

    Yes that’s right.

I don’t even want to put the SD card with the original image into my computer to erase it, never mind interrogate it!

I assume you would have similar worries unless you have a VM set up for testing such things?

Well it’s been up and stable for 21hrs so far with a new build of pi24 connected directly to the router.

Actually it did have a port open through the firewall, I think that was a hangover from a previous adsb receiver project as I’ve closed it and the pi is still online according to the fr24 server.

Although the traffic from the old build of the pi didn’t seem high enough to be noteworthy, the new build is a single session and not high enough nitrate to register.

Have I misread your advice Cougar? It was following your advice and disconnecting bits that led me to the pi in the first place, was that not what you were getting at?

The router ran most of yesterday through to this morning with the pi disconnected with no issues, granted not days – but a night and day difference and a fairly good indication I thought.

I haven’t completely ruled out a router issue, especially as Draytek support are unable to tell me anything about why it reboots from their own log files.

We’ll see if there are any more reboots overnight…

yes it was connecting to the internet and showing as active on the FR24 server.

yes I checked the standard pi/raspberry combo.

I think the PI24 image has SSH turned on as standard – certainly the new image just let me in without having to activate it.

I’ve got it all up and running with the new image now so we’ll see in the next few hours.

Am I imagining a broadcast storm right? I’m imagining a device spamming nonsense traffic down the line. Would that be a fault or done on purpose by scallywag’s?

Have you reflashed the pi image? Not yet – setting up a spare SD card so the funny one will remain intact.
If so have you changed the UN and password from the default ones? I believe so (keychain has a password) but there is a possibility that might not be the case
Your client may have an issue with the SSH fingerprint changing. I’ve reset the security on that having experienced that before
Did you try a different port on the router? yes
Did you have eveything else disconnected from the router when you were testing the Pi? no, but system ran fine for 24hrs+ with pi disconnected, are you suspecting ip conflict etc?
Can you swap the pi for another? I’ve got another 2B sat around somewhere to try if it looks like hardware

(RF24 is based on rasbian light which doesn’t install a desktop – headless only AFAIA) correct
