The Yeti ASR comes with needle bearings to the shock linkage but the BETD kit uses sealed bearings.

Needle bearing can with-stand much higher loadings (but have no sealing) and sealed bearings are better sealed (but aren't so good with loading).

I've gone with the needle bearings as the Yeti is my 'dry weather' bike.

I know nothing about bearings but this is what BETD told me.

Watched him win the World Mountain Bike Hill Climb in Colorado in 1990. How did that not catch on – the Hill Climb event?

    The man is class.

I clamp the stem onto the steerer and slid 2 headset spacers down. Lining up where you want to cut with between the spacers. Cut with hacksaw with blade running between the 2 spacers. Clean level cut every-time and using bits you already have.

Went and ordered a Pipedream Sirius Ti. I'm sticking to a '2 bikes only' rule so they may as well be really nice ones…

Tried taking off an XTR pedal the wrong way.

Got it really wedged on. LBS tried and failed to remove it so new chainset (£90 for SLX) and replacement axel (£35).

Not going to make that mistake again.

Also consider a Ti Pipedream. Saw them at the Bristol BB at the weekend and have just ordered one.

Get the plus of specifying logo type, drop-out type and cable routing.

    I have an 07 asr-sl. 5'6" and have a small. 30-31" inside leg – my my you ARE a strange shape :-)

    you definitely need a medium

stand over height is similar across sizes. reach on a small would be an issue for you.

    where abouts are you?

    Excellent replies guys.

We moved out 2 1/2 years ago and are in the process of selling. Should complete next month.

Looks like we wont have to pay under the 3 year rule. More money more shiny bits….

    thanks for the replies.

looking for something lightish rather than 'grrrr'.

will go and check out the options. Has anyone seen a carbon 456 yet? are they better in the flesh? on paper they look the best option but I'm not keen on the images I've seen so far. I have no issue the carbon as a material.

OK not so bad. Frame has a 5 year warranty and the importers just want to have a look at the frame first and they should let me have one under warranty.

Good job I kept the receipt…

You may want to set up a separate 'business' bank account. If you use your personnel one it can get messy if they call you in (it happened to me when I as a bike courier).

    Good luck

I've had one set (for Hope mono mini) come up rather 'fat'. All the other dozen odd sets I've used were fine (and worked well etc etc). Just sent them back and got them swopped.

They come with mounting brackets and spare olive for swopping over.

Bought some earlier in the week (without 20% discount) which arrived today. Just ordered another set with discount and I'll nip down the road and take a set back.

"Swop out the old bearings and fit the new stronger new style bearing. The new bearings are nearly 30% stronger than the standard bearings. We get rid of that awful nylon shim and fit the bearing straight onto the Hollowtech II axle. It also comes with a better seal, if you want to use it as the bearings are fitted with rubber shields. It does help to keep the muck out. As an opening offer, for a limited time. If you send me your bearing cups i will change the bearings for you at no extra cost.
    Price: £20.00 ($30.20,€22.40) "
