Basque Country could be an option. Getting there from Bristol is a bit of a pain and am a bit concerned about weather at the end of September.

Looks like no one wants to help us, eh Chris?

    for me Italy looks interesting

    or even Austria

My wife seems to think that France and Italy shut down at 8 so would be rubbish for drinks in the evenings. But then she is Basque.

They will claim (no doubt) that the service just picks up key words (in the same way targetted ads in the R/H column here are now for driving lessons).

all I see are ads for cake and sheds – spooky eh?

CRC sent me two chains in separate boxes. One meant for me and one for someone else.

Emailed them and they asked me to post them back. They suggested they would sort me out something for the hassle.

I posted them back and they refunded the postage (after having to ask 3 times). No ‘little something’ for the effort.

Only good karma. Which may or may not be as useful as a spare chain.

5 year warranty on the Yeti and they have been great with mine.

One of the gear cable stops came off the carbon back end of my ASR-sl and they gave me a whole new rear end within a week.

Thanks Three Fish. Have ordered some new cutters anyway (you can never have too many tools).

My problem is the OTT levels of PC, stupid rent prices and the lack of prospects for us there. We’ll try to succeed in Eire, some have managed.

    Consider the Luxe.

It meant to be ‘women specific’ but it has a 3l bladder and decent sized compartments – space for tools, inners tubes, 5-6 sarnies and a small flask. The ‘women specific’ elements are minor – chest strap slightly higher up.

Cheaper than the other one too.

    Tried to do W2 yesterday.

    Ice spikes.

    The Walls was mostly ok.

High Rollers here and they normally are fine.

    Rode it on Sunday am.

Doable but slow. Some sections of black ice (esp top of climb).

Good fun if you can stay upright.
