Mafia – wise words. Sort of why I was looking at the 575. The last 3 trips to Europe I have taken the ASR, which was great for the climbs and most downhill bits, just out of its depth for the really rocky stuff.

Scruff – Im 5’6″ and a large would be to big.

Retro – my offer still stands :D

A Chumba XCL would need to be a ‘small. I ride a ‘small’ Yeti with an effective top tube of 22.4″. Any frame would need to be about that. Medium XCL is 23.5″.

I nip over from Bristol quite often. Takes about 45 mins from Bristol. As above leave car by visitors centre. It is better riding than Ashton Court (Timberland Trail).
Usually other riders around most evenings.

    Enjoy.

“John, I’m really pleased at how you have stopped spending so much money on bikes”.

24 hours later a box with ‘Cotic’ arrives. Well, it was my birthday (therefore only had a 8 hour grump to put up with).

Last night just missed out on a Yeti 575 on Ebay. I WILL have one before the summer….

Taking my son to his first game on Saturday – the Mighty Bristol City. £25 for me and £16 for him.

I expect a lot of ‘which ones are Spain?’ He’s struggles with the whole club team / country team idea…

    Going in September. Looks amazing.

Good write up in this months Dirt about it.

A friend has ridden all over Europe (semi pro downhiller, bike guide and writes for Dirt a bit) and said it was the best he’d seen.

and they can check your credit card details so pay cash.

I bought a Nishiki Ariel in Colorado in 1990 and brought it back with me. Got the shop to give me a receipt for the bike as being second hand. The search my bags and found the real one at the back of an out of date young persons rail card.

Made to pay tax and vat on real value and had a strip ripped off. Very lucky to not have bike taken.

    I’m booked for the 8th.

    Which bike should I take?

    Cotic Soul with 140mm revs
    or
    Yeti ASR-sl (100mm both ends)

I ride both equal amounts but the Cotic is more for winter and the mud.

Thank you for responding to the Fibrax 300 advert in MBR magazine. We had
a great response to the advert.
I can now advise you that we will soon be sending out the Hope Mono mini
disc pads that you requested. The Fibrax reference for the disc pads we
are sending to you is ASH911. I would expect you should receive these pads
    within the next two weeks.
We look forward to hearing any comments from you about these pads once you
    have tested them out.

I have two bikes and went for the Hope ones rather than the Shimano ones, assuming that less people would ask for them. Looks like I was right. Cool.

Cheers Nasher. You are top of the list and looks like I’ll be bring two mates with me.

Was hoping to get a email back from James McKnight – he guided me twice at Switchbacks and I’ve met up a couple of times with him since. As he guided / ridden both Italy and Spain I was hoping for his input.

Just waiting for the new month then we’ll be confirming / booking flights.

I’ll be bringing a Yeti ASR-sl – its survived Switchbacks twice so I’m assuming it will be ok for Italy?

    Doug,

I think I am still scared from my Xmas trip to Bilbao. Never easy with 2 small kids but then add it the delays from snow.

Interesting article on Molini in Dirt this month. Anyone know what the weather is like in late Sept? And are there bars?
