    Now all I need to do I convince my 15 year old that sugar is bad and the wife who is trained by the NHS to get people thin. Might be harder work than converting me.

    It’s really simple. Find a way of eating that’s suits your body and run with it.
    I’ve found one that works for me, I’m happy. The OP is happy with his way.
    Because you think you know about the body or do it for a living doesn’t mean your right or wrong.
    Let people do what they want. Technically there is no wrong way if you have the desired result and are healthy.
    Basically we still know **** all on how the body works, which is a quote from someone I work with who you address as Prof.

    Oh and fat doesn’t make you fat, sugar/carbs and insulin do.

    Shirley to much of any food type makes you fat with the added bonus of heart disease with a high fat diet.

    Calories in versus calories out doesn’t work I’m afraid.

    Can you tell my body that, I have lost 13lb in 10 weeks using that exact method :s

    The blizzard isn’t the lightest 853 frame out there. I have always ran it with a 120 fork as I felt it rode better with that than a 100.

    I’m not knocking iDave, it works there is no doubt.
    It the people who get almost evangelistic about it.

    I’m with Gary been using the Myfitnesspal app and have lost 12lb so far, it takes less than 2 minutes everyday to log what I eat. Even if I have something new it take moments to scan the barcode in.
    I have reached my goal now. I set a new goal but loosing slightly less each week. The app just re-adjusted my calorie limit.
    I don’t see it as a diet as I’m eating all sorts of food, as I always have. Its just a reference for when im being greedy.
    Lets call it a food recalibration for the people who are scared of the diet word.

    But back to the op I feel faster on the bike than ever. It’s great isn’t it?

    (3) people are far to precious about bikes. Surprise, it will not break if you have mud on the frame!
