    I’m old and in Vets which put me 9th. Not bad for my first solo effort.
    Was riding a sky blue Pipedream but it was mostly in camo mud mode.

    I’m so lucky not to be like all the special people on here who can only loose weight by eating a certain diet.
    I have lost 22lb so far, and I have 4 pieces of fruit and a chocolate bar every day. 😀

    Set it to loose 1/2lb a week so you get a few more calories or do more longer steady exercise so you have more calories to eat. Eat a less calorie dense food so you eat more bulk but not so much calorie, be imaginative with your food. or all 3

    Have been using MFP for 6 months now, have lost and maintained a 20lb loss.
    My Garmin isn’t the most accurate measure for calorie burn for me. if I have ridden I allow myself about half of what I have burnt on the Garmin.

    Tom a guy at work recently got a Android tablet off ebay for about £120 quid. Seems to do everything he wants. OK its not as pretty as a ipad but it does the job. quick scan on ebay and the Flytouch 7 with ics seems ok to me. Sure somebody here knows a lot more about them than me though.

    My 6 month old Garmin Edge 800 is broken, the on off switch stopped working.
    It been back to CRC and now at Garmin for what seems like eternity.

    Arrived in inners earlier than expected and did the red @ inners.
    Pity I was 35 mins over the Strava time. Though I dont use strava,It was advertising where I live a bit to much.

    Off to Glentress and Inners tomorrow, just hope GT isn’t full of try hards on Saturday practicing for the “race” on Sunday.
    Won’t be there Sunday as I will be cheering the wife at the Edinburgh marathon.
    Just need to decide what to ride Fri, Sat and Monday.

    This has got really silly. Find a way of eating that keeps or gets you to a weight you want. if its just eating dust go for it.
    I wonder if where people are going wrong is this training word that keeps popping up. I’ve never done any fitness training in my life I just go for bike rides and its ace.

    Not the only way, but definitely the best way. I’ve lost 42 lbs in 16 weeks [blows raspberry] – have now reached my target weight – and am back scoffing rice, roast potatoes, chocs etc on a regular basis (in moderation of course!) and the weight is staying off.

    But I did not have that much to loose to start with, started @ 12st 10 now @ 11st 5 for 5ft 9

    If I lost your weight I would be seriously underweight.

    Before I ate a lot now I eat less. use the Myfitnesspal to keep a track of calories. So I know when im being greedy.
    cereal for brekkie
    big ham or tuna salad for lunch
    today will be mince and jacket spud for t
    a Double Decker and a brew
    then 2 slices of toast with jam for supper
    and a couple of apples and pears through the day

    the things i have cut out is milk and biscuits.

    i’ve lost 19lb in 19weeks by eating less, molly should really understand that idave is not the only way by now.

    *Edit* I have a chocolate bar everyday, in fact yesterday I had 2. Which my 15yr old son wasn’t very impressed with as the second one was his 😀

    Nice thought rosey.
    I was down there on Sunday as my wife ran the marathon, a great event. I’m glad I still have my wife around, one family is not so lucky.

    Any time x I have booked tomorrow off work to go for a ride in the Peak.
    It will be very slow with plenty of stops on the tops to take in the views as I have a bit of a head cold.

    I was dismayed to hear a PT at the gym describe it as a fad diet on Tuesday evening while also advising my girlfriend that she should eat less eggs and more wholemeal bread

    That’s because its what they have been taught by ‘experts’

    Star, not many people on here have enough muscle mass to skew BMI that far.

    Ton your not *that* fat, in my wife’s work she deals with people who are so large they can only do chair based exercise to start with.
    One lady was 5ft 3 and 26 stone.

    Not at all, but changing government policy and big corporations may be a tad tricky and take a long time. I just hope people are up for the fight.

    I have been trying to get my wife to get her head around this.
    She is a PT and specialises in the overweight. So is very brainwashed in the current taught way.
    She understands and takes on board how this works.

    Her one comment that stands out is… People don’t understand what they are doing now never mind confusing them even more with a ‘new’ way of eating.
