❗ but all you need to do is sit down for 15 mins with the manual set it up how you want it and its good to go. I know most blokes think a manual is a waste of time but it is not rocket science.

I have an Egde 800, it is so simple to use and always works. I have had it for about 5 years. You must be a special kind of Muppet not to be able to work one.

And never ever stop peddling in Newstead village, even if there is a train coming.

My wife, who works in health referral was told by one of the referrals*(*fatties my words not hers) that its a shame you can’t drive to the Nutbrook cafe!

I haven’t been yet. It seems to close…

Whilst my van has been reclassified as a motorhome, so does it come under the 70mph for motor home or the 60 for LGV. A very grey area.

For those with campers, what do you do if you go somewhere for more than a night? Do you end up having to pack everything up each day to go out and then set up again each evening?

Walk, cycle or even catch buses and leave the van where it is. Even when we change location it only takes us 30-40 mins to pack everything away. The advantage of a small van is you can not fill it with to much crap.

It would take a lot of nights in a b&b to cover the costs of a t5.

I have had my T5 two and a half years and we have done over 60 nights a year in it.
So I can’t be far off covering the cost of staying in a B&B.
Plus its still almost worth what I paid for it if I was to sell it.

Also I hate the whole ‘scene’ Why on earth would you buy a 40k* van to go and sit in a field full of other vans when there is a whole world out there.

*mine cost less than half that

Strava would be a good start, along with an OS map (www.bikehike.co.uk)

I’d rather not play trail roulette, a little local knowledge on a loop is always handy.

I can go explore on the Saturday. I was hoping to grab a few hours at GT on the friday afternoon/evening and also on the Sunday between dropping off and pick up the wife in Edinburgh for the marathon.

Does anyone have any GPX’s of the natural stuff that could help me put a route together?

Thanks, but I would rather ride than watch. Even if they have more talent in their little finger than I have in my whole body.

Gutted that I’m there at the wrong time. Maybe I need to research the natural trails and venture off the way marked stuff.

I think we should erect something similar at the end of High Lane to keep the West Hallam ruffians out of our lovely idyllic town.

I have just finished my base segment and gone from 207 to 230 (using a trainer not proper power)
So I was going to start the build segment. But I want to do the 3 turbo sessions in the week and then do real rides at the weekend. Would this still work or would I be missing essential elements?

I have used a 800 and no paper map in the UK, Spain and France for years. Unfortunately for my misses I always find my way home.

I have been using Alphacam for years and like it a lot. We tried Mastercam and it was awful. But that might because I’m used to Alphacam.

I just let mine dry then brush off the mud when it’s built up. Saves me a load of time and replacement bearings.

Apparently you have to be careful when not using proper sites…
It’s not unheard of for people to be gassed in their sleep and wake up finding everything’s been nicked

I Thought it was a bit urban legend but it’s not.

    I think it really is…

My bank charges me 10 quid to draw 300 euros when in Europe.

I use the post office for euros. Order on line collect from local PO. They also do a prepaid credit card that you can draw on for free i have read. I will try that next time I go away.

I love the muppets that type “fat doesn’t make you fat”. I think that is common knowledge.
More fat than than you can use does.
