OK, now I’m forced to ask another dumb question…… post mount or IS mount? What’s the difference?

I know this is a trivial and shallow observation …. but WTF is going on with that Welsh blokes eye brows??!!

No helmet, no ride-y in our house.
Not an issue as it’s always been that way so it’s just the norm now.

Might be different when they get a bit older (currently 7 & 9)… peer pressure & all that

We regularly stay in the Novotel Dijon or somewhere in Reims I’ve forgotten the name of.
Amazes me how many people leave bikes on their cars – I always take our adult bikes into the room (never had a problem with this) and stick the kids bikes across the front/back seats inside the car.

I’ve never seen or heard of anyone losing a bike, but the ‘secure’ carparks ain’t exactly Fort Knox so I wouldn’t risk it.

good point andyl – hadn’t thought of that and the garage I’m using does park cars on the road. Cheers.

Cool – insurance is no problem, it’s just the Tax/MOT thing I wasn’t sure about.

Ironically it qualifies for free tax, but you still have to go through the same process to get a free disc.

    Thanks for the help.

As a regular ebay user, I’ll pay for an item immediately if the seller requests that in his listing, otherwise I’ll do it when it’s convenient to me, usually within a couple of days.

If you want payment within a set time, you need to sepcify it in the listing.

Nice. Thinking of attempting my own first build & you’ve inspired me it that it can be done with a decent spec for a good price.
Out of interest, how long did it take you to accumulate all the bits?

If you’ve opened a non-payment case eBay will refund you the final sale fee when the case is closed.

Does anyone else find there are more and more timewasters & chancers on eBay these days?

sorry, can’t help either, but I have to agree with wwaswas.
This issue was the exact reason Lapierre wasn’t on the list for my recent ‘nearly new’ purchase.

All you need to know here
    Linky to AA

Note – high vis jacket must be inside the car (not the boot) and if you’re taking a company or lease car you’ll need a ‘vehicle on hire’ form in lieu of the registration document

I’ve just discovered my ‘away from home’ policy only covers the UK, so we’ve been taking our bikes to France twice a year uninsured!

Anyone know if this is standard practise?

Yep, Marshalls are great if you like old fashioned customer service ie being grunted at or told the workshop are too busy to look at your bike until July.

Another vote for the Anthem here.

Noticed there’s an Anthem X2 29er just appeared in the classifieds (not mine!)

We’re going back here for the third time this year:
    Camping Du Verdon[/url]

The Gorges Du Verdon is a stunning area and the Verdon river flows right through the campsite.

For free swimming: Lac du Castillon 15 mins away or Lac Du Saint Croix 45 mins away.
Striking distance of the Med, avoid Nice unless you like sitting in your car a lot, we’ll be visiting Monaco this year.

Not a huge number of Brits on the site, mostly Dutch and some French/German.

Free crazy golf… and table tennis!

    Kinetic in Welwyn Garden City.
The guys in there spent quite a bit of time searching for a mystery creak on my Anthem.
They weren’t sure they’d fully sorted it (they had) as weren’t able to recreate it, so they didn’t charge me anything!

    Highly recommended.

As for the second, his car isn’t that far from the road and looks intact – the description of “spinning out” brings to mind a series of 130mph 360 twirls but a 40mph slide through 90 degrees and a bump would be sufficient to earn that description in today’s news.

This month’s Classic and Sportscar have a full write up on the re-build of the car, including details of the accident – I think it said he was accelerating hard in 4th gear.

Now I’ve never driven an F1, but I’m pretty sure ‘accelerating hard in 4th’ = high speed and big probability of catastrophe.

330bhp & about the same size/price as the 335. Seem to be more around too, so might be a little easier to find a good ‘un

Arse. BB definitely borked, confirmed by LBS.
Does £40-£45 fitted sound reasonable for a new XT item?

I know I should probably try and do if myself but I need the bike on Saturday

Most unreliable vehicle I’ve ever had the misfortune to own.
Bought one at 3 yrs old/ 45k, ran it for 2 years & did 25k, during which had 2 wheel bearings, air sus compressor, electric boot release catch (£250 to fit a £19 part thanks to idiots at LR not fitting a manual override for when the electric release packs up), 3 attempts to repair the electronic handbrake which my local (well respected) LR indie admits is simply not fit for purpose.

They also go through brakes like they’re made of cheese.

By contrast, I’ve done 60k in the XC90 I swapped it for with nothing more that 2 front wheel bearings. Not even new brake pads.

When it worked the D3 was a great car, it just didn’t work often enough!

I got a pair of Kenda 24x 1.95 of eBay for about £15 posted for my lads Hotrock FSR.
Can’t remember the seller but just search ‘Kenda 24’ and a few come up

I had issues relisting an item this morning – something to do with it being outside the time limit of 30 days to relist (can’t exactly remember), which it wasn’t.

Anyway closed it down, tried again and it worked.

    Maybe ebay have a glitch?

My old stomping ground. Used to be rough as, but city centre is no worse than most others now.
My worst experience was back in ’89, got turned away from a Forest game so had a couple of hours to kill waiting for mates who got in. Took a wrong turn out of the TBI and wandered into the Meadows…. found a nice friendly local boozer….. never been so scared in all my adult life and I had a local accent!

Forest lost to top off a great day.

There’s one for sale on eBay at the moment if you don’t mind nearly new.
Can’t remember the details, think it had a reverb though – I was watching it but reckon it’s going to go well over my budget.
