I generally go on Sat mornings, only ever seen 1 guy without a lid. He did have a woolly beanie hat through, which he seemed to think was a suitable substitute.

My wife suggested filling the tube with vinegar… apparently it’s some kind of miracle cleaner.
Anyway, the mould is still there but it now tastes vinegary. So can’t really recommend this as a solution.

    I’ve only ever used water.
Mine’s a cheapo Decathlon version though, wonder if the Camelback ones have some kind of fungicide or something

Cheers guys – Milton tabs + freezer sounds like the way to go.

Actually I blame my wife for the problem – she moans about it laying about whilst drying out, so I put it away before it’s dry. She can buy the Milton tabs!

OK put it this way. If your car is your toy, then splurge as much as you like on it, but if it is for transport don’t spend a cent more than necessary on it.

I do about 25k miles a year, mostly business. Based on your logic I should be doing it in a 15 year old Mondeo with it’s 15 year old safety features (or lack of), driver comfort (of lack of), emissions control (or lack…. think I’ve made my point)

Why is it so hard to understand that some people enjoy driving, and as such want a nice car to do it in. That doesn’t make it a toy, it’s still a tool to do a job, but why not enjoy it too?

Why does anybody use PF any more with their price increases?

    ^this.

I send everything through parcel2go now. They collect it from my doorstep and it’s still loads cheaper than Parcelfarce (for big items anyway)

Sorry, I didn’t foresee “comforting” other riders as a requirement in signing up for an internet biking forum?.. There’s certainly no mention of it in the rules

I don’t think the rules require you to have even rudimentary social skills either, but I think you’ll find they come in useful

Here’s mine pictured in Les Arcs a few weeks ago. 2010 X2, pretty much standard spec, mostly XT kit, love it!

split second wrong decision my arse!

Sorry to be the one to tell you, but you’re not competent at drops at all

Nice Persona, I’m sure your friendly advice has been a huge comfort!

    Easy to navigate? Yep
Easy to find start of red? I missed it several times but if you know roughly which marker it’s near, you’ll find it.
Will you have a blast? Hell yeah!

We were over about 6 weeks ago & motorway prices were around 1.45 to 1.50 euros/litre, supermarkets more like 1.26 to 1.30.

I’m currently paying about £1.35 here (local Asda), so it’s a bit cheaper in France.

Thanks for the suggestions (well most of them anyway!).
I’m hoping he goes for a single day/night, not sure I can cope with 2 or 3 heavy nights on the lash these days!

Although after doing some detective work on his feedback he has bought a number of things from Uk members and has 100% positive feedback with glowing reports.

Always good to read the comments people leave (sounds like you have), not just rely on the percentages. I only sell to the UK but recently a guy in Italy won one of my auctions. He then asked for a shipping price and refused to pay it.

Looking at his 100% positive feedback – he’s got loads of history for exactly this. Unfortunately ebay’s stupid rule of not allowing sellers to leave negative feedback means the only way you can warn other people is to leave positive feedback and then put the details in your comments.

Twice in last couple of months.
Annoyingly it’s a dormant account which we’re just waiting for BT to close down (takes them 3 months apparently, which coincidentally is about the same length of time it took them to get our note rent connection working)

Is that astroturf? Looks far to neat to be real!

Like the bike – roughly how much do you think you spent? Hope you don’t mind me asking, just thinking of a similar project

3 at Swinley on the blue run last Sat morning, probably the busiest UK trail centre, at the busiest time of the week.
    What are these people thinking?

Those humane ones Dan1980 mentioned above worked for me.
Caught 7 in quick succession with peanut butter.

The only dilema is where to release them. It says on the box you should take them 27 miles away (that may be an exageration), but I just let them go at the bottom of our garden – in fact one escaped right outside the back door. We still seem to be mouse-free though.

I can get to Swinley in 45 mins from St Albans (early on a Sat morning), can’t be much more from Barnet can it?

    Legoman

Does anyone know where there’s a map showing the Swinley section names?
I only know it by the numbered markers, so have no idea which bits are Seagull, Labyrinth etc

Swinley on Sat am – first time on the red
Son’s football club ‘fun day’ on Sunday – freezing cold, lost 3 out of 4 games = not actually a lot of fun for anyone!

My sister’s been there for 10 years, cost of living is high as you’d expect for a large city, particularly accommodation if you want to be striking distance from the centre, but wage levels are good.

Comparison with UK prices is pointless unless your a tourist

True, but it’s relevant if you want relatives/ friends from the UK to visit you over there – the current exchange rate will make Oz holidays impossible for many right now and a year’s a long time to go without seeing any of your family for some people.

Great opportunity though – grasp it. You’re asking the right questions by the sound of it, you’ll be fine.

Yeah, know what you mean – there good bits on the red are really good, but there seemed to be some dull connecting sections.
Need to keep it in perspective though – they’ve done a great job and for only 2 quid it’s an absolute bargain!

Hmmm… don’t want to be too specific otherwise every joker on the forum will be claiming it!
Not a bike related item and relatively low value.

    Agreed, it’s great isn’t it?
I actually prefer the blue over the red, seems to link up better.

My Anthem X2 is pretty well suited for Swinley I reckon.
Perhaps I’d better pop over there in the morning for a couple of hours just to be sure……

Take a look at Aurora or Collingwood lights – both highly recommended by our builder and have some unusual (in a good way!) designs.

We sourced all ours from a local place (Beelex in St Albans).

Anyone know the name of the blue section around marker 14?
It’s the fast bit if that helps!

    Legoman

Yeah, they really need a clearer sign for the start of the red – I did 2 laps of the blue on Saturday and missed it both times.

I asked someone on my 3rd lap and he pointed it out to me when we passed the turn off (thanks if you were the guy on the Giant 29er I spoke to!)

However – the blue is an absolute blast, just get there early to avoide the crowds.

I get why you’re cynical about it – there seem to be more idiots than genuine people on ebay these days.

A question for those saying refund him and don’t send it…. how does the seller avoid negative feedback for not completing the sale, cos I’d sure as hell neg someone for accepting my bid and then just changing their mind?
