…if you have the crappy bar lever as they only do on or off. If you have the fork top dial, floodgate overrides whatever compression setting you decide to use.

Or so I'm led to believe by my friend who works in the service dept at Madison. I don'y think anyone really knows how they are suppoosed to be set up!

How locked out the lockout gets is dictated by the brass knob on top of the leg marked 'gate'

nope. maybe not so simples 😆

the flood gate adjuster determines the size of the force required to override the compression damping.

My revs confuse me! I think I'm going to take off the on-of handlebar lever thingy and change it for a fork top adjuster

Survey completed. I'm very interested in performance bamboo bikes, these guys[/url] come from a similar background. Good luck!

Not true, I got into a top uni for my subject with a BTEC

I don't want to sound snobbish here, but which uni was that? Neither of the universities I went to would have accepted a BTEC, even for the more practical subjects such as engineering.

Try getting into a top ranked Russell Group institution without A Levels….

    +1

not all universities are equal and the people that count know that

thinking about it, would a new car arrive at the dealers and be sold with the wheels un-tracked?

I don't think that analogy works; he's buying the frame, not a complete bike

I don't do it anymore because even though I put "please contact me for overseas postage before bidding" some yank didn't bother, won a wheel and then refused to pay the £50 courier charge even though it was the cheapest either of us could find. He then deleted his ebay account. Some people are stupid and I'm not going through a load of hand holding again. Within the UK, postage prices are more standard/acceptable and most people understand the system.

I forgot about the highgate jumps. I checked them out last summer but you can see how worn out they are from the street view. Probably only worth looking if you're very close by on a BMX

RealMan, your answer is one of the two correct answers. The other is shown on travis' link

there used to be a couple of little jump spots on the heath, don't know if they are still there. Bring the MTB as they weren't particularly tight and you can explore more easily. you can also get out of there quicker as evening falls…..

njee, I NEED a BTP hanger now! Damn you….

They just strike me as a 'show bike only' thing personally

I'm basically a bike tart and I love the fact they get loads of attention! I'm under no illusion that the weight saving actually make me go any faster 😀

why's that njee? I only do limited milage and they're not much more expensive than record alloy rings! I've also got a 1/8th version on my track bike…

I'd have to get a front mech hanger custom made, prob a bit OTT though you never know!

here's a pic of some of the carbon on my 13.5lb race bike. I've won a fair few bunch sprints on it too. Takes a few rides to get used to at the start of the season, then gets ridden as hard as anything else.

clearance will probably be too tight for cross tyres, even in the dry. it won't be any weaker than a cross bike though

chain tensioner! then you can SS that x-night 😉

when they're pulled tight they don't look that bad either and auto adjust for chain wear

almost exactly the same as trail_rat!

crampton did that time on the original faster rollapaluza rigs. Fastest on the new rigs is 20.48 by Fabian Kaiser. pretty quick….

Surly SS rings are made of cheese. I doubt ryanair would have bent an alloy one so badly mick_r! I've got an MRP ring now, it's lovely

like oldgit says, clearance could be the issue. try and race as early in the season as possible, the start of last season really was very dry.

have you got any pics/links of the bike?
