I love flite saddles, but have never got on with a gel or groove one; they have hard spots in funny places. I think you're best off trying to find a good condition S/H or NOS one.

Last year wiggins went a lot better in the giro. Yhis year he was yo-yoing big time. Doesn't nec mean much though, his training will mean be aimed peak just perfectly for the tour and screw the other races.

finbar, circumstances forced lance to do the only exciting bit of racing he has done in more than 10 years. Looking into someone's eyes is hardly exciting! His scientific way of racing is unarguably effective, but bl00dy boring to me. He almost never races for stage wins apart from in TTs. I think his win in Limoges in after Casartelli's death was the last time I got excited about his riding.

I don't like that although he can speak English, he always gives interviews in Spanish.

A bit like Lance only giving french interviews after many years of only speaking english. I'm suspicious of Contador too, which is a shame if he is genuinely a once in 50 year talent, but I really dislike Lance. Lance comes across as a rude, arrogant man who is an extremely boring and ugly bike rider.

None of the sprinters have had a blinder so far this year The green jersey fight could be the most interesting thing about the race as Contador destroys everyone boring-lance stylee and leaves the rest racing for 2nd.

Going to be the full SSEC article in next month's MBR. Should be some great pics and an interview with the 650b rider himself. 🙂

My road bike is for racing, almost all my other rides are on the MTBs or BMX.

A compact chainset has a smaller than usual BCD (110). Usually the chainrings are 50 34.

I would think a medium cage mech would be preferable, especially if you are using 50 34 rings too.

Try putting some emery cloth between the two worn faces. Has worked for me before, zero slippage for years!

    kinesis forks are 680g…

I'm sure the weight will come down, especially as it's p1ss easy to get race bikes below the stupid UCI limit anyway

    leggyblonde

those kinesis and orbea forks are a lot heavier than a top road or even cross fork though.

I like passionate sports people but Cav is a c0ck. I appreciate that to be a top road sprinter you have to have serious self-belief and balls but that doesn't mean he has to be a nob off the bike.
He was in the bar after the smithfield nocturne on saturday surrounded as usual by his lackeys. He was rude to my cousin and sister and then later sent his manager after them to tell them to wait for him when they headed off to find a better party!
I think it's great when Cav wins, but Cipo for example was VERY self-assured but a cool dude when not winning sprints.

cliff shrubb still builds a few frames. He has built frames for TdF riders and landspeed record bikes.
My track bike is so beautiful that I've had it clear lacquered to show off the quality:

I love m-frames. they can make you look like a try-hard on an MTB though

I bought a DMR chain cage as it is more adjustable/bodgeable. works fine with no rubbing or chain dropping

Some men are just not man enough for some roles in life. Fair enough. We need bleeding-heart liberals to do underwater basketweaving and complain about the Armed Forces invading somewhere when conflict is just the extension of politics and soldiers don't go anywhere unless politicians send them.

It's true, you have to be very manly to be constantly pissed or on holiday as most of the guys in the forces who I know seem to be.
Soldiers might do the bidding of the politicians, which to me is an another reason NOT to join, they're basically mercenaries if they are fighting for something they don't believe in.

There are clearly some very brave men and women in the forces who deserve to be commended on their line of work, however many soldiers are idiots who couldn't do anything else in life.

Unlike you, I like the UK a lot!

what has that got to do with invading countries that are thousands of miles away?

to the OP: I have a similiar opinion to you so extremely unlikely, but if someone actually invaded I might be tempted.

But if you can brake a bike length later that could be enough to get you past the guy in front.

I quite agree for MTBing, but for some reason that doesn't seem to be the case in cross where conserving momentum is the bigger winner. As pointed out above, carbon rims are de-rigeur in racing even though they are poo-stain for braking in the mud. I'm sure some riders will use discs in a few races, especially if sram bring out their rumoured hydro disc compatible red lever

    I think it's 60:40 cavendish's fault.
It must be getting to him, he was even more rude and grumpy than usual after the smithfield nocturne 🙄

    Great action pic though

the pros will have a disc set of bikes and a canti set.

I NEED to win the lottery soon.

I wonder if this also means that most cross bikes and possibly eventually road bikes will get 135 spacing so that MTB hubs can be used?

a good mechanic will "spring" a steel frame for you. Was very common when road bikes went from 126 to 130

I haven't used the contis, but on the more rock/tech stuff (including french trails similar to the above pic) I do occasionally pinch flat my michelins. However, that's a compromise I'm willing to make to avoid me and the bike bing shaken to bits! 12 stone here

I have ridden cross bikes all my life though, so perhaps I've adjusted my riding style to suit?

do you mean on road surfr? I run 35-45 with clincher tyres and 25-35 with tubs on the cross bikes
