Stig won the fancy dress comp!

it would have been hard to beat jody crawforth and nick craig to win the senior race with a motorbike helmet. Though some say….

boring? it’s a wicked place. what andy said for a start plus great architecture. also belgians love bikes, so there is plenty of riding stuff to do, they all speak about 150000000 languages and there’s a statue of a boy taking a piss.

I don’t think he doesn’t need a device with a lower roller for tensioning (unless it’s for DH type duties?) that’s what a rear mech is for. A guide is surely the cheapest way to go, preferably with a single specific ring

wrap it chicken wire and make a see-saw or bridge for you local trail

you don’t need a bash, only short chainring bolts.

try this for a cheap chain guide. I’ve just bought one for my cross bike, not fitted yet but looks as good as an MRP etc.

I’ve got a DMR chaincage on my hardtail but it only works with rungs larger than 34

try a skinnier rear tyre? it will reduce the gear inches

The spans in the bottom pic look pretty large for a residential project. Traditional timber/masonry doesn’t really work with spans much over 5m.

Was last there a year ago. There’s not a lot of tech stuff and the wooded sections are quite spread out. Depends what you want from a ride but a cross bike or something would be perfect apart from the little shore bit

when? do you have lights? I try a south of croydon night ride once a week if you want to join. I don’t have any set routes though. Definitely worth taking the bike, there are loads of trails around, especially around Woldingham.

I only coped with a fantastic team of helpers!

The course wasn’t small but perfect conditions meant it was very fast so the leaders did 11 laps. nice vid:

    thanks blazin-saddles!

face-plant and robinbetts, have you a better idea of cleaning a mud encrusted bike in 4 mins up to 10 times in an hour? If so, there are LOADS of cyclocross racers, teams and pit crews who would love to hear from you

Big companies in the professional fields such as accountancy, engineering etc often lose money in the first couple of years on those graduates as they train them up. Small companies often can’t afford to do this and many of those graduates leave once they are chartered to join small companies. I think large firms contribute in this way.

I’m not commenting on the other points on this forum! 😯

hopefully more UK events can get a similar atmosphere, it is possible…

It is getting more popular, especially among the new to cycling. As mentioned above the C2W scheme has played a big part. People have bought cross bikes as a supposedly tougher bike to commute on than a road bike and then ended up giving racing a bash.
I’m organising a race this sunday and helping organise muddy hell and there will be journos from non-cycling publications at each event to see what the score is as cyclocross has crept on to their radars.

spin your nuts off! nothing to do with strength, it’s all about whether you can spin at well over 200rpm for 20+ seconds 😯

You might be able to get building control to slap a dangerous structure notice on the wall which would force him to sort it out. Garden walls are tricky areas legally though
