They will be a downgrade in terms of performance, in most circumstances. However they look fly,and will gain you a few seconds on a still flat day.

I think quintana was attemting it this year. But (i think) he went into the giro under trained, misjudged his opponents. He is probably the only rider capable of it. But as said iyt would need luck, suitable courses, etc

If you have the cash, a watt bike would be the ideal tool, if measurment is your goal. it would allow you to accurateley see week to week where you are going fitness wise. at the moment you are just using quess work.

Good luck. 265 to 350 is a big jump. you are about the same dimensions as me, although i am a bit lighter 73kg. I am about 280ftp, when very fit i can hold 350 for a max of 6 mins. Getting up to an hour at 350 is achievable i think with dedication. but i mean pro dedication.

I always voted for the Lib dems, so difficult for me to objectively deconstruct there lack of westminster presence. however the biggest questions facing the nation since i started voting imo, the war in iraq, and the financial crisis, the libs have been on the right side of the argument. I remeber Vince cable pushing Brown on the property bubble on several occasions.
Weird how some people start spitting with anger over the student fees fiasco, yet happily vote Labour, who introduced them.

Keswick, or Cockermouth as a destination?. that would easily sell out, and plenty of riding to be had.

i learnt from scatch on rivers. you often dont need to cast to far either so they can be good for learning. sea trout fishing is my method, at night. nothing better, your senses are in overdrive.

can be an easy job. but can also end up a disaster. any misalignment can result in windows not opening and closing properly. this becomes even mor of an issue the larger the window. Then a knowledge of using the glass installation to square frames is handy. trimming up is also tricky if your not experienced or patient.

if you have any additional roof space, additional panels would make sense, as you will struggle to charge the battery for 6 months of the year. i would anyway.

The powerwall 2 can be charged AC aswell, so any inverter can be used. although a loss of efficiency can be expected.

I am a kitchen fitter, and can only recommend diy kitchens really. Their such a pleasure to fit, and deal with compared to any of the other brands. Plan well ahead though if you are using custom hand painted units, as there is a bit of a lead time on delivery. Plus i like the way there is no sales and different pricing bs as with other brands.

I have fitted a couple on building notices, however i believe it differs council to council. I usually use the selkirk flue installers guide, if i am using flue pipe. Without seeing the job 4k sounds plausible, 2k for stove, and flue. then 2k for scaffold?, labour.

Sharkbait, read what i wrote, “if you have the room, install pv first”. If you only have room for 2 panels, install thermals. I am generally agreeing with what you are saying.

You are correct Sharkbait. However after 9 years, it becomes free, oil is going to go up in price, area of roof wise it is better for heating water, and most importantly you get that warm smug feeling of heating water for nothing (once installed). I cant stress how nice the feeling green energies give you.

Feeding the pv into a tank is all good at the mo, but when home batteries, and electric cars become the norm, there will be no spare pv capacity to heat a tank, so in the future, thermal will become a better altrernative.

I have both pv, and thermal fitted. If you have limited roof space go for a thermal system, they work very well for around 6 months of the year, and on a good day will heat a 250l tank to 90 degrees by around 2pm. if you have lots of roof space go for pv first. If i were you i would buy a system from kotly (cheap), get a roofer to fit the roof mounts, plumber to attach piping, electrician, to attach electrics. You will struggle to spend 2.5k doing it this way.

when the boiler comes on, does a pump circulate the water throught he tank coil. The pump could have gone, heating the tank by gravity. the boiler would be cycling on, and off. Does this make sense?

could be airlocked. you could try shutting down some, or all the other rads to force some water through it. might work.

Never asked for payment up front. Maybe if there was a large initial outlay for materials, i would push for the customer to pay for them. but certainly not for labour. i would avoid.

Even if its bone dry, install a membrane, or at the very least a paint on memebrane.

If the slab is stable, go glued every time. I always feels better under foot.

Tongue and groove is better if glueing down in my experience, Click fit better if doing a floating floor.

its generally the battens that go. I would say if its installed correctly, it will still be there long after you are gone regardless of concrete or slate.
