I had kenda’s on my last bike (hybrid) and they were naff, so I’ve come to the conclusion before I’ve even ridden on then that they need changing

    Sorry, it’s a 2012 giant defy 5, wheels are giant sr-2.

Puncture protection is definitely a factor

Slx are amazing for the price and always get a higher test score than xt’s, best brake tests slx are often the winners.
I changed from Deore to slx and I would highly recommend them.

If you search about you can probs get a cateye strada wireless within your budget, I’ve been running one for years on my commuter and it’s ace, only downside is that it doesn’t have a backlight for winter/dark mornings and nights.

I’m on the waiting list to see a specialist but it’s at least 3 weeks wait if not longer,
I spoe with my gp about carrying on cycling and she said that I should be ok but try not to twist, I thought I would ask on here as my gp is pretty damn old,
I think I’ll rest till I see the specialist

I have a north face borealis pack for commuting and it’s great, plenty of space, comfy, very efficient.
I think if you shop around you can get them under £40

I’ve gone from nobby nics to a conti x king on the front and a race king on the rear, fast, grippy. Swap out the race king for mountain king for wet conditions.
I’ve heard conti trail kings are pretty good to.
The x king is an amazing front tyre. 2.2

I’ve changed from nobby nics to a conti x king on the front and a race king on the rear, the x king is really good in all conditions, fast rolling, grippy.
The race king is jut for the dry season, I’ll be changing that to a mountain king when the bad weather starts again.

    Black chilli all the way

I start early and my place of work is no where near a train station, so it’s def no rest days inbetween, I’m no froome, just ride a hybrid and average around the 18-20mph mark.
I’ll start having breakfast at work and see if that helps, I’ll also start drinking the protein shakes after the ride.
I’ve heard chocolate milk is really good for recovery!? Is this true? If so how much do I need to drink each time?

    Cheers for all the help

I sold a carbon whyte 19 and replaced it with a inbred 26er,
There really good bikes, I have mine setup with a recon 85-130mm travel, handles all the rough stuff fine.
The paintwork does seem to chip a lot easier than any alu bikes I’ve had but I’m still pleased overall.
Never had chain suck either. I run a 1×9 set up to.

I have cone scanners yeah, the wheel is only 6 month old so I hope the bearings are not knacked.

    Thanks for all the help/info

It’s definately not a misaligned frame as I run another set of wheels for the trails. The problem rear wheel is my commuting one so used everyday. I’ll strip it down when I get home and see if I can see anything untoward,
If not I’ll try cone tightening procedure.
If all else fails it looks like a new wheel

I really love the look of the soul, also I wouldn’t get the disapproving looks I get on the inbred(snobs)
I don’t know anyone with a soul and my lbs are not dealers.
Think I’ll just bite the bullet and click buy.

    Thanks for the advice

I’ve run 100mm on a chameleon and it was ace, now running a 85-130mm u turn recon,
    Bang on.
Revs would be your best bet IMHO

That’s the beauty of the chameleon, plenty of scope for travel variations

Asherh I agree some of the red is dull but it takes you to transmission and accelerator and nitrous which is awesome, if you know the area then You can cut out the fire roads but if you don’t then I’m afraid you may have to bite the
    Bullet
