Well non of us have ever done any of them trails so it’s going to be interesting doing it all blind. Presuming your right, I’ll watch some videos of what you’ve said so I can see what we’re up against.

Thanks for the heads up, any more info would be appreciated

I went up a couple of weeks ago and bumped into Kev the event organiser. They were planning on making the DH trail slightly easier which should be better for the less experienced riders. The trails are riding well, the work they have done on some of the other tails makes them flow better too. If your not not overly fit I’d consider doing 1-5 then see how you feel after. I know one of the lads I’m riding with Will only manage 1 of each. I’ll probably try and re do any I mess up. I’ll be taking a full bag with everything I need rather than wasting energy getting back to the car park. But I presume there will be plenty splitting the day into 2 with a break back at the cafe. I defiantly won’t be riding with my lockout switched on on any of the stages, I struggle to understand how that would help

It’s not a sagging problem. Just dosent hold in position straight away after the lever is released

1/2 day at most. Maybe a shorter one on the last day. All weather dependant obviously

Cheers guys just been back on and booked the camping after reading it was back up on here. Does actually say camping and parking tickets on the receipt so I presume we won’t be charged extra for parking. Good luck in the race everyone and have fun. Should definitely be a better system in place to avoid so much congestion on the sections but the trails are sooo good I can’t wait. Fingers crossed the weather improves and all the rain is out of the way before the weekend. Cheers guys thanks

I’m around 80kg. Didn’t case any jumps but I was trying to clear the two rock sections before the forest. I’ll find a pic off the vid one of lads made to show where it happened. It was rocky to be fair. I was probably really unlucky and just landed on a sharp rock.

BPW is really smooth compared to what I’m used to riding round here, not sure that’s got much to do with it. Maybe nukeproof are at fault for specing these wheels on this type of bike, probably just me being unlucky 👍

Yeah they’ve folded at the formed part not where the impact was. Was using a dhf dh casing and it went back up fine with with no tears on my spare rear wheel to carry on with the day. Strange one

Sorry about the pics and links, first time I’ve tried uploading photos on here and turns out I’m not very good at this!!

I may have been unlucky with my wheels and I do understand wheels break from time to time but on both my recent wheels (xa elite and Crossmax XL)the rims have failed. Both times were flat out on rocky sections but I always run28 psi at the back and check pressures regularly so I can’t recommend these wheels for hard riding. They are light and good looking though so would be good for lighter use.

Be careful with these wheels for aggressive riding. Came stock on my 2018 Mega 290 pro and the rear has just folded on me at Bikepark Wales last weekend. Third Run down The new AC/DC red trail and the wheel has cracked in two places and folded in on itself. To be fair it’s done well to last 8 months so it’s not all bad, but I had a feeling they were the weak link on the bike and it was just a matter of time. Did consider replacing with the same set for sale at £209 on crc as discussed here (exact match in green &29er) but decided against it as I’d be worried about it happening again. Decided to go for a some DT Swiss XM481 on 350 hubs, hopefully they will a more solid option with less flex.

Also had something similar with some brand new crossmax XL’s last year where the rim cracked without any dings to the rim. These were sent back for warranty but Mavic were no help, just sent the wheel back broken. I’ll try and upload some pictures later.

Used to be a massive Mavic fan boy but have lost confidence now so I’m moving on to see if DT Swiss are any better.

Thanks guys, I’ll have a look at these. Might get an OS map and do some studying so I’m fully prepped.

Bonus points for pubs on route too, although your going to get me into serious trouble.

Any other ideas for anything else within a short drive (30mins) if I do manage to talk myself into an afternoon off?
