Just emailed a few breeders off the Kennel Club website. No pups at present but got a couple of leads (excuse the pun!).

    Fingers crossed.

Thanks guys, sorry for the tardy reply, been looking at a new pup today.

Anyway, he’s 13 and quite tall, so probably full size needed?

Stopped after 10, all bunged in a bowl together, a right mix of chicken/bacon/beef. Only stopped as the multi-pack was empty

I wonder if that’s why my GP is now having difficulty getting my blood pressure back to normal? :|

I hired a VN Euros for a couple of days whilst on holiday in Majorca. Lovely bikes, fantastic at smoothing out the roads. Seriously tempted to get one.

Can’t make it tomorrow jonba, sadly, said I’d keep a colleague company on a ride. When are you next out jonba?

I’m not looking to race although I’d let to get some sort of structured training rides so that I can get some better times on sportives. I like the longer rides, up until my mate had his accident we would regularly do rides of 70 – 80 miles, done a few 100+ miles as well. Not race pace but quite quick imho. Just been off the bike for a few weeks so feeling unfit. . Managed this years Cyclone (106 miler) in 6hr 45min ish.

Never rode in a group paul78, so a club that would be patient with a beginner would be good, albeit an older beginner.

Breeze Bikes Lee? They’ve got some fast boys, might struggle to keep up, especially if Quentin is still riding for them…………..!

Do they pay the vet directly or do you have to claim back? Please excuse my ignorance, it’s just we’ve being lucky for the past 15yrs and never had to pay a big vets bill until this year (lesson well and truely learned!), our other Springer is 15yrs old this year and hasn’t cost us a penny (apart from pain killers for his arthritic hips this last year).

I’ve got one. Used it for years off road. Only issue was as above. Was selling it until I dropped it on the floor and now it doesn’t work.

Return it to Hope, they repair them.

Ahem, cough……………………Tune Schwarzbrenner carbon rims…………………………cough cough

You will not find a carbon rim with better braking braking, I’d put them on par, if not better (yes, better) than aluminium rims, even in the wet.

    (prepares to get shot down……..ahem).

Have a look at the Rapha Classic bibshorts. I’ve got a pair of Assos Mille (as well as a few pairs of the Uno’s) but was lucky enough to receive a pair of Rapha’s for my birthday. Boy oh boy I think they are THE most comfortable shorts I’ve ever worn. I find them more comfortable than my Assos shorts, especially on long rides, I’ve done a 4 100+ mile rides since I got them (last month). Combined with the Rapha chamois cream (free sample received with the shorts) and it’s like getting your perineum licked by a nubile young brunette (or blonde).

Rapha even have a 30 day no quibble return if you don’t get on with them (ends Sept 1st).

I’m going to bung my Assos shorts on the ‘bay so I can get another pair.

We’ve got 2 multi fuel stoves. No flue liners, the guy fitted them said they wouldn’t be needed. Had the chimney sealed at the pots and loads of smoke bombs put in, no leaks so all’s good…………….. 8O
The second one we got fitted this year, last winter the other one was never allowed to go out for about a month.

Mmm, toasty (RIP Molly though :( ):

    New one just fitted:

    Australian.
Go out West where the flies cluster thick on your face and you’ll develop the technique of speaking and barely opening your mouth.

Lol, I work with a guy from Australia who talks out the side of his mouth

full carbon? huge, huge loss of braking performance in the wet!

    Not with the Schwarzbrenners.

    LardLover

A little more cash but check out Tune Schwarzbrenner’s. I’ve got the 42mm clinchers, the braking, even in the wet is phenominal!! I doubt you’d find a better braking carbon rim.

My mate has the VN Mistral, well under your price range but bloody gorgeous it is, thinking of getting one myself after trying his out.

My next door neighbour has the VN Amazon – touring bike. That too is a thing of beauty.

Hmmm, I’d think twice about the levers and piston caps, that might be a bit much (imho of course!).

Not really got a good pic but here you can see the red headset, seatpost clamp and red pinstripe detail on headtube. What you can’t see is the red hubs (and that’s it – was fitted with square taper BB so no red BB).

On the other hand, here’s red hubs, red quick releases, red headset, red seatpost clamp, red chainset spider, red chainring bolts, red cable end caps, red headset spacer, red detailing on stem and seatpost.

baby blue and red bits is nice. Don’t overdo the red bits though. Then it’ll just look gash. Mix the red with black , keeping the red to small areas ( hubs/ BB/ headset/ seatpost clamp). Black seatpost, black stem, back bars and grips etc…………………..

What about even just a change of discipline? Have you ever considered just becoming a roadie instead?

Worked for me. It’s been over two years since I slung my leg over a mountain bike. After getting sick of regularly going out on my own more and more I though F*** It, I’ve had enough of this s***. So, sold my mountain bike and bought a road bike (must admit to being more than a bit ‘road-curious’ before this). Can’t say I’ve looked back, I even enjoy going out on my own.

As the saying goes; a change is as good as a rest.

At least it was in my case, and what a long rest it’s been. I’ve thought about hiring a mountain bike and heading off for a ride. Only once, and then quickly thought nah, where’s my road bike.
I look at mountain bikes nowadays and just think, bloody hell that’s ugly. ALTHOUGH, I was in a shop the other day and they had a Pace 104 frame there, I nearly weakened……………………… so got back on my road bike.

Give it a go, but don’t sell your mountain bike, you may find that actually you do enjoy mountain biking more. You’ll never know unless you try.

If only it was as easy to give up visiting this site. If only I could find a road equivilent to STW.
