I’ve hired from them before so more than happy with the service they give. I didn’t really want to use anyone else, was just getting a little worried when all they were showing as having available was a TT bike.

Only hope he comes up trumps for my mate now who also hasn’t arranged a bike!

s’ok, Bruce from Pro Cycle Hire in Puerto Pollensa has just emailed me and told me he’s got a Van Nic in my size.

    Happy Days!

Found another cycle hire place but they only hire for a week, we’re only there for 4 full days. Don’t really want to pay for weeks hire, I’d rather spend the cash booking my bike on the plane. If I cycle from the airport I can get an extra decent ride in (light permitting – we land late afternoon)

My mate was desperate to try out his new toy (despite the weather). Paralysis doesn’t seem to stop him  at least he could’t complain about his feet being cold

    2001 Passporte on a Pace RC300 with 80mm RC36’s

One of guys that came brought his fully rigid Trek 850. He got some funny looks of the lift attendants

    Fred Whitton virgin here :-)

I’ll be riding in my club kit (M Steel Cycles), I’m the only one in the club to get a spot on the start line – although if I don’t start and do some serious training they may not let me ride in the team clothing and thus embarrass the club and the shop

I’ll be the typical MAMIL on a bike that is way too good for the rider.

Also, if number ’13’ isn’t unlucky enough I’ve gone and got number ‘1313’ – so bad they numbered it twice. I think I’m going to suffer.

    Oh dear :(

Please say hello and offer me some encouragement when your passing me, going backwards on the uphill sections. Thank you.

Company schemes like the NHS one where I work, lease cars available to all and sundry, sometimes there’s a cracking offer, like the one where you could get the new Range Rover Evoque for £240-odd quid a month. Sadly this was a year after we ordered our car.

Champion, lots of good suggestions there.

    Thanks chaps.

I’d like one that could be used anywhere in the world, if only for peace of mind.

Looking for something that can filter enough water for 3 adults. One that could be used repeatedly either with a change of change of filter or can do a hell of lot on one filter.

Ooh, we stayed at the Uyal too, in 2011. Lovely place, would definitely book there again if going back with the family. I hired a bike that year on our family holiday and went out a couple of times with the guys from Pro Cycle Hire. Kept the bike in their lock-up garage (after getting wrong for keeping it on the balcony).

If you can get in the Uyal then book it, it is very nice. A short walk along the promenade to the centre of town but worth it.

That’s where we’re staying geoffj. We got a cracking deal, 5 nights half board for £130 odd quid (don’t know exact cost because my mate booked it, but we got hotel, flights and car hire for £210 each).

Again, KMC only here. I’ve had Shimano and Campag chains snap. Never snapped a KMC (yet :| ) despite torque-ing the t1ts out of them on stupidly steep climbs.

4 of us Geordies going 21st April, might see you there? Look our for a dark lean cycling machine (not me, that’ll be Mark) a short Mark Cavendish like chap, a tall white (hopefully going on red – tanning nicely) – that’ll be me and another guy I haven’t met (Mark’s mate).

We’re staying in Puerto Pollensa. I think you’ll find most of the hotels in the area are bike friendly.

Are you taking bikes with or hiring whilst there? We’re hiring from Pro Cycle Hire in PP.

New York? May?? You need to take your road bike mate and do the Gran Fondo New York[/url].

Hopefully I’ll get to do it 2014.

nedrapier – they look good. He doesn’t need it for gear shifting duties, it’s purely to operate the handbrake on his handcycle, to stop it moving when he’s getting in and out of it, or if he needs a rest on an uphill section to stop him rolling back. The front mech is also adjusted using a thumb shifter so if he was to buy a pair he could use the other one on the front mech (friction not indexed front mech).

Where can they had from then?

A bit more will get you a Parlee Z5 from Activ Cycles in Corbridge. They’ve taken delivery of quite a few Z5 framsets (with ENVE forks) and have them heavily reduced. And I mean HEAVILY reduced 8O

I don’t need one but by god I was sorely tempted when I was in there on Friday just because they have them at such a great price!

They won’t hang around for long at the price they’re selling them at, so be quick!!

Ok, tried 30 times from mobile!!! Constantly engaged on the landline also.

So, tried calling the mobile number from the landline and ended up voting for Ellie Simmonds.

    How does that work then??!!

On, seeing as I can’t get through to vote from mobile I thought I’d try calling the mobile number from my landline. I manage to get through.

It said I voted for Ellie Simmonds!!

    Fix.

I’ve just finished The Secret Race, I found it a good read and pretty un-put-downable.

    +1

    Also, ‘Wide Eyed & Legless’.

Recently reprinted (just after I paid 30-odd quid for a copy of the 1st print of the book).

    Stupid money?

    Mmmmmmmmmmmm Parlee…………………….

Unfortunately I no longer own this, never even got it built up :(

I took a gamble buying it, sadly it was too big. At least I got what I paid for it so nothing lost. It did feel good in my hands though.

    Our dogs love the stove!

Molly’s (RIP  ) favourite spot:

Oscar (RIP  ) approx 2 months before he went to doggy heaven. He was our first dog and all of our other dogs have to compare to him. He was just lush:

2011 was a crap year for dogs in our house, loosing both Molly and Oscar.

    But, we now have………….

Mabel. Here she is at 2 months old:

Mabel thinking, I can get under there!

See!! I told you I’d fit:

    6 months old:

Archie arrived, adopted from a colleague nearly 2 months ago. He loves the stove too:

Finally, Mabel and Archie last Tuesday, the after having family-planning surgery at the vets :(

Despite covering everything in a 3 metre radius there was a fine white mist over everything.

    Never again.

A consultant anaesthetist I know was the victim of someone wee’ing in his (or hers ?) theatre shoes.

    Needless to say he (or her) is a t w a t

Also know of one other anaesthetist who regularly has a ‘frothy’ coffee

    He’s (or her) a t w a t too.

I once saw an Orange 5 (think it was a 5) on a car going through my town. It was done in retro Orange colour scheme (white – orange fade).
    It looked fantastic.

(tying to find a pic of it………)
