I used the PX carbon ones. They worked but the bottle didn’t feel secure. I’m now using Arundel Dave O’s and they grip the bottles tighter than a thong on a fat lass. Not quite your price range but you can get them off US Ebay cheaper than you get them in this country, if you can get the yanks to post them for you! (Just bought 2 brand spankers off US Ebay for my winter bike – got them for £45 including postage).

Lost a couple of screws out of the sole off my Dragons (not using at the moment so not a problem).

Anyone know of anywhere that sell Sidi spares? (Google searched but all I can find is straps, heel pads etc – no screws)

Where`s the best deals to get some from

The States if you can

I tried ordering the custom Oakleys on the US site. All was going well until it came to pay. It needed a US registered credit card (was going to get it posted to my brother-in-laws house in New York as my wife was popping over to visit her brother). I could have saved about £70-£80. Anyhoo, my wife popped into a Oakley store that did custom orders and got me what I wanted (proper roadie all white with red lenses – and bolts and icon 8) ).

Just finished listening to it. Did he not wear earphones because he was eating all the way through the interview?? 8O 8O

I love my Jawbones, so much that I wear them off the bike

They fit my face well (imho), and they’re not too dissimilar to my Monster Dog’s.

As for lenses? I got a custom pair for my birthday last year and they came with G30 Iridiums which are the only lense I have been using since getting the glasses.

If you can try them on as I find some Oakley’s don’t suit my face shape.

How-do, I haven’t received any mail yet fella (you did remove spaces and changed the ‘DOT’ and ‘AT’ into ‘.’ and ‘@’? ).

Thanks for replying though dude, send me another mail so we can take this off the forum.

    Cheers

As jenbe says, they don’t like it when you don’t agree them. I found them to be really immature when dealing with my complaint.

Shame really, I’ve had some right bargains off the Bike Radar forums.

For me I turned to road bikes. Worked for me. So much so that I haven’t been on a mountain bike for over 2 years now (only because I no longer own one  ).

I can’t get away from here though, it’s good for a laugh.

If that’s no good don’t throw them out, keep them by the bed in case someone enters your house and needs ‘owned’.

Ooh, whilst in Brooklyn, pop along to Roy’s Sheepshead Cycle on Coney Island Avenue. That was the first bike shop I ever went into when visiting my brother in law, he just lived round the corner from it. They were a BIG Yeti dealer when I was last there……………………in the nineties

Another for the Crud Roadracer2’s. I’ve just upgraded from the MkI’s. The MkII’s are much better, giving loads more coverage. Just make sure you can fit a 4mm allenkey between the rear tyre and frame (under the rear caliper) otherwise you’ll not be able to fit the rear without modifying. Also, no larger than a 24mm tyre.

My mate needs to sell his Cervelo RS. Brand new Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL’s. He’s having a domestic and needs cash.

I’m sure he’d let it go for under £1900 (or less).

Size is 56cm if any good.

    Just built:

8th May is better for me as it means trying to find someone to do my on call for me on the 1st (can’t get a week in advance for shifts but oncalls are allocated until June – go figure :? ).

Don’t worry about the fitness thing Lee, I’ve hardly been on a bike for the past couple of months (weather/work/illness/bad back :( ). Once you get over Carter Bar it’s relatively hilly flat until you come out of Bellingham (as I’m sure you’re well aware of). I mentioned starting from Morpeth for some peeps who asked about a longer ride 8O (takes it from 60+ to 100+ miles, and then some).

Mate had it done, he had bad eyes, cost him a fortune. One eye is great, the other isn’t so good, suffice to say he still has to wear glasses when he’s at work.
I don’t think he would recommend it, not if your eyesight is really bad.

He did say he had second thoughts when he saw the surgeonist who was about to do the lasering was wearing glasses… 8O

Oh, and his sister is an optometrist and she told him not to bother. Needless to say he was relieved of a lot of cash for very little benefit.

8th May is the Fred Whitton if that influences the possible date.

Ah, that’s a stroll in the park compared to this route…………. 8O

This is a real struggle challenge

(or it will be to get round before it gets dark  )

Right, there will be a choice of 2 routes on the day.

    ROUTE 1

Otterburn – Carter Bar – Chesters – (nearly to) Bonchester Bridge – Saughtree – Kielder – Bellingham – Otterburn

Distance: 106.62km (just over 66 miles)

    Climbing: 2500m

    OR

    ROUTE 2

Morpeth – Elsdon – Otterburn – Carter Bar – Chesters – (nearly to) Bonchester Bridge – Saughtree – Kielder – Bellingham – Redesmouth – stop to throw up at the top – Sweethope Lough – Knowsgate – Cambo – Morpeth

Distance: in excess of 100 miles

    Climbing: Don’t ask……………… 8O

Riders setting off from Morpeth will meet those (if any!) who are setting off from Otterburn.

All that needs to be decided is:

    (a) Date (1st or 8th May)
    (b) Where to stop for cafe break (!)
    (c) Someone to lead the route from Morpeth to Otterburn as I’ll be on my own :( or someone that knows how to get back to Otterburn from Bellingham (should be easy enough to self navigate)

I can only assume you don’t know what MAMILs are?

    warm, hairy with breasts ?

Have you been peeping at me SP? 8O

I’ve got a spare road bike you cold lend if need be S2A. As long as you’re between 5′ 10″ and 6′ 2″?

    LardLover

    It is reduceable.

Those that don’t want to set off from Morpeth we can arrange to meet at Otterburn. On the return leg simply turn off at Bellingham and head back to Otterburn (up your own little Vomit Climb  )
