    Thanks for the response.

I’m trying to convince my son to hang on to them, as a connection to his mum during her younger (rebellious) days.

But if he does want to sell, then I’d rather he knew if they were worth anything.

    Thank you.

My son seems to doing ok, thanks for asking.

Sounds like we should photograph all of the LP’s and watch ebay etc.

@kelvin – that’s the bloke! Anyone know what he’s upto nowadays?

    @a11y
    – thank you. Can’t take the credit for Argos Cycles handywork. Kevin Winter kindly did the paint jobs this time round (better and cheaper than Argos Cycles).
I bought a Cotic Soul frame a couple of years back and had it resprayed in the pink and blue, just for old times. That started the bug. Next was the cx bike and then my good road bike.
I have since sold the Cotic, to guy in Wales.
And yes, I remember selling the Orange 5. Thanks for driving down for it.

    They were happy times.

Now, Raoul, fancy making another frame for me??.

a11y – yip, that’s me, pastel pink and baby blue. Got my cx and road bikes painted exactly the same now (and road shoes, and helmet – how much is too much?!).

fatboyjon – the level of artistry in the paint work was outstanding. I’ve yet to see something as good (and yet to make it to a UK hand-built cycle show).

    Wasn’t his first name Raoul?

    Never had one fail.

I’ve had Shimano, Campagnolo, and Wipperman and they’ve all snapped.

Stay west of the A1 if you take your road bike, loads of quiet country lanes to go explore around Chatton, Chillingham – go see the cooos (Northumbrian for cows).

Or, get the train from Chathill to Alnmouth and cycle back via Sustrans Coast and Castles route (or go north to Berwick and return via the Coast and Castles route)

    his ebay username is: raceki-87

He messaged some more, and sent an offer for something else I’m selling, all so that he can leave me more negative feedback. He’s committed I’ll say that.

Yeah, just cancelled the order and reported him. He’s managed to leave his feedback though in the meantime.

Is Campylobacter rife in the Lakes?
I got it a day after doing the Fred Whitton in really shitty weather, at work, when I couldn’t get home (luckily the full-on effect was yet to htit, just the severe flu-like symptoms to start).

I’m now a few years down the line (and a couple of rides on the Doctor’s big black flexible snake) and I’m still suffering IBS type symptoms.

It wiped me out at the time. Sleeping/shitting/sleeping/shitting (I say shitting, but it was really pissing out of my arse for about two weeks).
Turns out I was losing blood out of my arse too, dropped my haemoglobin. That was fun when I tried getting back on the bike. Zero energy. Scary. As no other symptoms until they checked my bloods.

I wouldn’t even give a grade 3 scramble a second look…….grade 1 is my absolute limit….sometimes more than my limit!

we will be visiting Hangin’ Pizza, no doubt about that (as we’re staying in the Alpine Apartments just above it).

Just looking for something a little more formal, for a nice birthday meal.

Have been looking at the Royal Oak and Olif’s.

    Decisions decisions……

    Wow!!

Thanks so much for all your replies!

I would only ever attempt Crob Goch in good weather. Not being overly confident I don’t want to add to the stress.

I’m desperate to overcome my ‘tingly spider sense’ that I get when up high and so try to climb grade 1 scrambles that are a little exposed.

I would say I’ll be OK, as long as I can keep moving. But won’t know until I get there.

I’ll give it a go if the weather permits.

And thanks for the info regarding parking. I’ll double check before we go, and book it incase the weather is good.

We’re only there over a weekend in October so ai guess will plan on an early start.

Thanks again for all your advice, I really appreciate it.

    Thanks for all the replies!

A bit of a list to get started with.
Don’t mind a bit of height and an easy scramble but not a fan of anything too exposed
(Jack’s Rake is about my limit).

And err, thanks for the tip scotroutes (maybe not the pic!) regarding the Bruich na Frithe path.

Would love to go find “the rock from Highlander” (loved that film), but perhaps a little too extreme for someone who finds Jack’s Rake a bit of a challenge…..?? (edit: forget that, just read the route info)

    Thanks again.

The guy is a freakin’ genius P20, no doubt about that.
And yes, I had a Cotic Soul done in the exact same paint job. That one was done by Argos Cycles though, twas good but no where near as good as Kevin’s efforts (and cost me so much more).
And I missed that bike so much that I bought another one and had that done exactly the same. Just pondering having my road bike done the same and then all of my bikes will be the same.

Apple TV needs to be at least 3rd Gen. for Zwift.

I’m running 2nd hand Apple TV (£30 off Gumtree) and a 2nd hand Samsung 48″ TV (also off Gumtree – £70).

Got a 2nd Gen iPad (32GB) if you’re interested? Not sure if it’ll work with Zwift though, haven’t tried it. Looking for £70 for it ono if it does and if you’re interested.

Will sort some more pics tomorrow (I’m out drinking away the cash I could have been using on parts for the build…..bugger).

letmetalktomark – couldn’t be easier dealing with Jen. There’s certainly cheaper around but after paying Jen to make the mould years ago it was a no-brainer, I want to rebuild the bike I loved.

    Another plus for Light Bicycle.

I bought some carbon clincher rims for my cross bike and had them built onto some Chris King hubs. I’ve fairly thrashed* them off Road and apart from a couple of scratches they’ve been faultless.

*I say thrashed but really mean clumsy – first time back off Road in nearly 10yrs and decided to ride my old mountain bike trails on my newly built cross bike. It wasn’t pretty!

but the waste that was shown last night with a surgeon, an anaesthetist and several nurses on standby all day doing nothing constructive due to the lack of a bed was fantastically wasteful also.

I would imagine that the surgeon, anaesthetist and nurses (I presume theatre nurses) would try and help with emergency cases off the emergency theatre list, or help out other surgeons who’s own operating lists are unrealistic for the time they are given. I really don’t think they’d be sitting around drinking coffee all day getting paid just because the case they were all waiting to do, which would take the best part of a day, was cancelled due to a lack of its beds.

Thrunton Woods on the A696 (just north of Longframlington) – a few miles west of Amble.
Then there’s Rothbury (Simonside) and a little further inland at Alwinton.
